Chapter 65 - CHAPTER 64: Absurd Status

Hestia seemed to come back to life upon hearing Yuri's words.

"If... if you think so, please join my Familia!"

Hestia's face was serious. She stretched out a finger in front of Yuri.

"Although the main nature of a Familia's activities depends on their god, some gods establish one simply because they like to work."

"For these gods, the people in their Familia are companions!"

The more she spoke, the more her eyes sparkled.

Little by little, she began to pause while speaking, her gaze fixed on Yuri.

This made the young man smile with satisfaction.

"So, will you join my Familia?"

Hestia looked at Yuri with shining eyes.

"Of course."

This time, Ryuu didn't say anything but accepted Yuri's decision.

"However, there is one thing I want to make clear."

Before Hestia could celebrate, Yuri continued:

"I want to have the freedom to make all the decisions."

"Simply put, I would be the head of the Familia, and you would be something like the mother."

"Can you accept that?"

"Of course, I have no problem with that!" Hestia agreed immediately.

Anyway, she was essentially a lazy goddess. With Yuri as the head of the Familia, she was quite happy.

Besides, he would be the father, and she would be the mother...

Hestia once again looked at Yuri's appearance and felt like she wasn't missing anything.

"That's great, Hestia. You finally found someone who wants to join your Familia. Without further ado, you can bestow the Falna on him. There's a room you can use."

It was quite obvious what Hephaestus' plan was—she just wanted Hestia to leave her house immediately.

Hestia grabbed Yuri's arm with a smile on her face and dragged him into the room.

......

Hestia pricked her finger with a needle and spilled a drop of her blood on Yuri's back.

At that moment, Yuri felt a new energy entering his body.

Hestia quickly completed the process and was now able to see Yuri's status.

What Hestia needed to do next was write everything down on paper.

The basic stats are: Strength, Endurance, Dexterity, Agility, and Magic. Each is represented by a letter and a number from 0 to 999. 0–99 is I, 100–199 is H, 200–299 is G, 300–399 is F, 400–499 is E, 500–599 is D, 600–699 is C, 700–799 is B, 800–899 is A, and 900–999 is S. However, it's very difficult for anyone to max out their stats, as each individual has their own strengths and weaknesses. For example, an elf mage may reach S rank in their Magic stat, but due to their difficulty increasing Strength and Endurance, they can't raise those significantly.

Regardless of limits, maxing out one's status is still an arduous task. When adventurers level up, their highest stat usually ends up in the C or D range—B at best. Reaching the top tier, S, is an achievement only a rare few accomplish.

It's normally impossible to go beyond S rank, although Bell and Alfia have done so through Liaris Freese and unknown means, respectively, having reached SS and SSS ranks. Though the ranges are not officially stated, it's assumed SS is 1000–1199 and SSS is 1200+, based on Bell having SS1001 Strength and SS1100 Endurance at Level 3, and SSS1501 Endurance at Level 4. Basic stats increase through excellence in training and battles.

Base stats reset to I0 upon leveling up, although previous stats remain as an invisible base. Thus, they can be decisive in battles between adventurers of the same level.

"Hestia, how are my stats?"

Upon hearing Yuri's question, Hestia didn't respond—she just stared blankly at his back.

She couldn't understand the phenomenon happening before her eyes.

She had just bestowed the Falna on Yuri, yet his stats began increasing on their own.

"How… how is this possible…?"

Hestia had been in the Lower World for some time now, and through Hephaestus had learned the basics about adventurers.

However, Yuri's Status panel was entirely beyond her knowledge.

One of the most important things for an adventurer is whether or not they can use magic.

Yuri had three magic slots—something incredibly rare, even among elves.

Before the gods descended, magic was something only available to certain races. But with Falna, everyone could use magic, though it still depends on individual aptitude.

The number of magic slots is fixed: a minimum of one, a maximum of three. Usually, only one type of magic can be used.

When someone can use two types, they become a "juicy piece of meat" for the gods.

But three? That's almost unheard of. Very few people in Orario have that—and most of them are in top-tier Familias.

Even so, it was still within acceptable bounds.

But his abilities? Completely beyond what was acceptable for a beginner adventurer.

Buffs, affinities, resistances—everything was absurd.

Every single skill he had was something she'd never heard of before.

Especially [King of Oni]—it explained his eyes, despite him otherwise looking like a human.

Among the skills held by many adventurers, there are shared or common effects. For example, elves naturally have an affinity for magic.

Generally speaking, the skills a Level 1 adventurer starts with reflect their core essence. Even if someone is talented, they might only receive one skill.

But Yuri had five monstrous abilities, two of which made him nearly immortal.

Any of those alone could spark a war between the most powerful Familias in Orario.

For a moment, she even wondered if Yuri was a demigod—but then remembered he was of a race she had never heard of.

Oni—or rather, the King of Oni.

Hestia's worldview had already been shattered by just two of his abilities.

But upon seeing [Sun Breathing], she was even more stunned.

She had heard of skills that increased excelia gained during combat.

But she had never heard of a skill that made someone stronger just by breathing!

Among all of them, only the fourth skill seemed somewhat normal.

Hestia kept taking deep breaths, but her body kept trembling. She gripped the paper tightly, afraid she might scream with excitement.

She had found a treasure!!

"What's wrong, Hestia? Why are you shaking and silent?"

Yuri had waited a long time, but the goddess remained still, which made him turn around. Just as he reached to take the paper, the goddess couldn't hold back her excitement anymore and jumped into his arms.

"Hehe… hehehe… I really found a treasure!"

Hestia buried her face in his arms, laughing nonstop.

Yuri simply took the opportunity to hug the goddess, then reached for the paper and carefully examined his abilities.

"Okay, I wasn't expecting that."

"Yuri!! The Hestia Familia is going to become the greatest Familia in Orario!!" the goddess said, rubbing herself against Yuri enthusiastically.

Yuri smiled, reached out, and lifted her little finger, making a promise:

"Hestia, I'm really happy I met you today. I promise—we'll become the strongest Familia in Orario!"

"Yes!!"

The overjoyed goddess extended her finger, and the two linked their pinkies, sealing their promise.

After officially joining the Oppai Goddess' Familia, the two became very close.

Hestia, walking out holding Yuri's arm, couldn't help but laugh.

Her smug expression made Hephaestus and Ryuu feel a bit annoyed—especially Ryuu, who had unknowingly developed feelings for Yuri.

However, Hephaestus felt somewhat relieved that her lazy best friend was finally going to leave her house.

Until…

"Well then, I'll head out first. See you later."
