Every eye in the dining hall was fixed on Mirabella. Amidst them all, she felt the weight of one particular gaze, hot and unwavering. Amber met blue, and her cheeks immediately flushed under his unflinching stare.
Slowly, she nodded in approval, giving her silent consent to marry Sir Vaxmore's son.
Eros's lips curved into a radiant smile, his eyes still fixed on his little birdie.
Claudius clapped his hands, breaking the tension. "Then it's settled! Sir Gideon, now that your daughter has no objection to marrying my son, let us fix a date and discuss the wedding!"
Gideon nodded. Of course, to say he wasn't pleased would be a lie. With a son-in-law who was a king and an in-law who was a High Wraith from the Hall of Void, his little egg certainly had nothing to lose. His only concern now was how much dowry he needed to prepare.
