"Ares, you know I didn't compel her to do anything right?" Vivian asked, right after Angel disappeared out of sight.
Slowly, he shifted his angry gaze to her. "I would believe you in a heartbeat if you will only be honest with me. We're friends, right?" His eyes bore into her soul as he questioned her.
She didn't expect this conversation to move to the direction it had headed into.
When she walked up to his room, she expected she would cook up her lies, and drive further wedge between Angel, and Ares.
It was looking more like she had only succeeded in dragging herself into the hot seat.
"We're friends, yes," she said.
"And nothing else?" He asked.
"Ares—"
"Vivian, are we nothing else but friends?" He asked firmly.
She went silent, as she weighed her options.
If she lied, she had a feeling he knew it would be a lie.
The only way she saw herself getting out of this unscathed was being truthful in a way that would help her.
