Chapter 276, Bloodthirsty Twin Blades
Hearing this number.
Wu Heng and Sheila Grey both furrowed their brows.
The pirates they had just killed numbered at least two hundred.
Yet, the island still had so many people left.
This pirate group is quite formidable.
At least, they are stronger than most land-based bandits.
The last question.
Wu Heng thought for a moment and asked, "Where is Shanaila currently being held?"
The corpse answered, "Cocktail Island!"
After speaking, the corpse lay back down.
......
Wu Heng looked at Sheila Grey and asked, "Have you heard of the Blood Hand Pirate Group?"
Sheila Grey's expression was grave, "Yes, I've heard of them. The pirate group is quite large, known for their brutal violence."
They had encountered a notorious pirate group.
And being known for their brutality meant that peacefully resolving this matter was even more unlikely.
"It wasn't a total loss; at least Shanaila is still alive," Wu Heng said.
This Shanaila should be related to the merchant group.
The ransom was raised by them.
Both the Steward and Sheila Grey were also very concerned about whether this person was still alive.
"What's the next step?" Sheila Grey asked.
"No rush, let's question the next corpse," Wu Heng said.
He continued to cast [Speak with Dead], and the second corpse sat up.
Wu Heng asked, "How many high-level professionals are in your pirate group?"
"The captain and vice-captain are both high-level professionals."
"What level is your captain?"
"Level 15 professional."
Level 15, a Tier 4 professional, just one tier below Skull-Crusher.
This was already considered a rare powerhouse.
Wu Heng thought for a moment and asked, "How many people are stationed on Cocktail Island?"
"About six hundred."
The previous corpse said there were about five or six hundred pirates left in the group.
This one said there were six hundred just on Cocktail Island.
So they're all on Cocktail Island.
"How long will you stay on Cocktail Island?"
"One night, leaving in the morning."
The last question.
"Where are you heading next?"
"I don't know."
The five questions ended, and the corpse lay back down.
All the necessary questions had been asked.
There were over six hundred people on Cocktail Island, and the highest level was the Level 15 captain.
The best approach would be to go back and request reinforcements.
Knowing the location, it shouldn't be difficult to annihilate a pirate group.
But the enemy would only stay on Cocktail Island for one night.
By the next day, they would be gone.
Bringing the information back and then returning would take too long; the enemy would have already left.
"Tonight, we'll sneak in and rescue her," Sheila Grey said directly.
Wu Heng asked, "What's the plan, tell me."
"No plan. Cocktail Island isn't very large; they can't guard the entire coastline. We'll find a spot to land and sneak in," Sheila Grey said.
Wu Heng raised an eyebrow.
He thought she had some sort of item or skill.
But it turns out it's just sneaking in under the cover of darkness.
This pirate group, having established itself so significantly, clearly wasn't run by fools.
How could they possibly let someone slip in so easily?
"Do you have a map?"
Sheila Grey took a nautical chart out of her spatial ring and spread it on the table.
She pointed to an island, "This is Cocktail Island."
Judging by the scale, Cocktail Island wasn't very big, and its shape didn't resemble a cocktail but more like a chicken's rear end.
Wu Heng took out a tablet and lifted it to take a picture.
He then looked back at the map.
After thinking for a moment, he outlined his plan.
"Send a few people back to notify the guild, and we'll head to the island. I'll use the Rotting Corpses to draw everyone on the island together, and you lead the others to rescue her."
Sheila Grey frowned at the map and then looked up after a while, "Will that work?"
"Let's give it a try. If it doesn't, we can just retreat safely," Wu Heng said.
Sheila Grey looked at the map again and finally gritted her teeth in agreement.
"Alright!"
......
Cocktail Island.
In a stone hut near the port.
A few pirates were gathered around a fire, looking a bit drowsy.
"Why haven't those who went to get the ransom come back yet? Maybe they took the money and ran."
"You all know the boss's methods. They wouldn't dare run."
"Do you think those people would be dumb enough to pay the ransom?"
"The boss said that woman is important; they won't give up any chance."
"I saw her; she's quite good-looking. It's a pity she sealed herself in stone. Otherwise, after the boss had his turn, we could also..."
Before he could finish, a series of splashing sounds came from the direction of the port.
The men instantly shut up, getting up to look out the window into the darkness.
Moonlight bathed the sea, but there were only splashing waves; no boats or suspicious objects approached.
But that strange sound grew louder and louder.
Whoosh~!
One of them pulled a burning stick from the fire and threw it forward.
In the orange-red glow.
They saw shadows emerging from the sea.
As they stepped forward, their rotting bodies gradually came into view.
They had walked out from the sea?
The pirates widened their eyes in horror, watching the scene before them.
"It's Beverly and the others... How did they end up like this? Damn, they've turned into Rotting Corpses!" someone shouted.
As the Rotting Corpses emerged from the sea, they charged the moment the shouting began.
Weapons in hand.
Rigidly charging forward.
In an instant, they reached the stone house and began fighting the pirates inside.
One of the pirates jumped out of the window on the other side.
He ran toward the center of the island.
The pirates inside the stone house were overwhelmed in the blink of an eye.
The bodies were dragged out by the Rotting Corpses by their ankles and thrown on the shore.
Wu Heng, accompanied by Skull-Crusher and Blood Axe, stood on a wooden boat.
Pushed ashore quickly by Sharktooth.
He glanced at the bodies on the shore and cast [Battlefield of the Dead], the corpses slowly stood up.
They joined the ranks of the Rotting Corpses.
Not long after, from the direction of the island's center.
A large number of pirates rushed out.
Weapons and torches in hand, they looked warily at the shore.
......
"Necromancer? Our Blood Hand Pirate Group doesn't know you, right? Attacking us at night seems a bit excessive," a deep and low voice rang out.
The pirates parted to make way.
A burly man with a captain's hat stepped forward.
Two scimitars hung at his waist, his eyes filled with malice as he stared at Wu Heng.
The fury in his gaze was barely contained.
Wu Heng stood behind the Rotting Corpses and said, "The guild's forces are on their way. If you don't leave by dawn, you'll never leave."
The pirate captain squinted, glancing at the ships behind the Rotting Corpses, and mocked, "You're just a Necromancer. Does the guild really listen to you?"
"Believe it or not, I have plenty of time!" Wu Heng said, stepping back a few paces.
This series of actions.
Left the pirates stunned.
In their sight, the Rotting Corpses blocked the port.
And dawn was not far away.
If the guild came with the merchant group's forces, they'd be dead, with no chance to escape.
The pirates grew restless.
The captain's face was equally grim.
Judging by the enemy's actions, it seemed they intended to trap them here.
He glared back, cursing, "What are you panicking for? Are you scared of one Necromancer? Follow me and kill him; tonight, I'll use his head as a chamber pot."
"There are only a few Rotting Corpses; we have more men."
"Mages have money; let's kill him."
"Yeah, whatever, kill him!"
The pirates began shouting.
Morale rose high once more.
......
The pirate captain drew his twin blades, his body turning red as if filled with blood, muscles bulging.
He roared, "Charge with me and avenge our fallen brothers!"
"Kill~!"
The pirates let out an earth-shattering roar and charged up the slope.
Swish swish swish~ whoosh!
As they ran, crossbow bolts, throwing axes, and throwing knives were hurled into the ranks of the Rotting Corpses.
The Rotting Corpses didn't dodge, their bodies were instantly struck.
Yet not a single one fell.
Seeing the pirates drawing closer.
Wu Heng cast [Fireball] above the pirates, the flames exploded, and embers fell into the pirate crowd.
Instantly, several pirates were hit by the flames.
Their bodies caught fire, rolling on the ground in agony.
Wu Heng continued to command, "Attack!"
Whoosh~!
The Rotting Corpses moved, charging directly toward the enemy.
Both sides closed in and collided head-on.
The pirate captain moved swiftly, his twin blades flashed, instantly decapitating four Rotting Corpses.
He then plunged into the midst of the Rotting Corpses.
The Rotting Corpses were continuously being slain.
As the bodies fell, large pustules began to form.
In the next second, the pustules burst, and countless spiders shot up, pouncing on the pirate captain and the surrounding pirates.
"Watch out for the spiders!"
"Damn it, that Necromancer is a real bastard!"
"Sever the Rotting Corpses' limbs, don't kill them, or spiders will appear."
The pirates shouted as they continued to fight the spiders.
Bang bang bang~!
The spiders burst, releasing green poisonous gas.
The gas quickly spread around.
In the smoke, the pirates were forced to retreat, clutching their festering wounds, still trying to push forward.
Pirates kept dying, and the corpses kept bursting, forming vast clouds of smoke.
Wu Heng stood at the back, casting [Battlefield of the Dead], raising freshly fallen corpses as new Rotting Corpses.
......
After casting his skills.
Wu Heng retreated back to the rear.
Speaking into his earpiece, he said, "I think I've drawn them all out. Move quickly on your end."
"We've reached the enemy camp. Hang on a bit longer."
"I'll try!" Wu Heng responded.
He hung up the radio.
His focus returned to the battlefield.
The battle continued, but in the poisoned area, the pirates began losing ground.
Large numbers of them started to fall.
The Rotting Corpses and spiders advanced.
The pirate leader covered his nose and mouth with his arm, his eyes quickly scanning the battlefield.
The more they fought, the more enemies there were; this was not sustainable.
His fallen men had all become reinforcements for the enemy.
In the end, they would be slowly worn down.
Scanning the front, he spotted a figure in black armor holding a staff behind the Rotting Corpses.
He kicked away a Rotting Corpse lunging at him and shouted, "Get a few men to kill that mage! Whoever kills him, I'll make him deputy captain; even just wounding him makes you a squad leader."
"Yes, Captain!" a few nearby pirates responded.
The pirate captain then charged forward with a few men, like raging bulls, crashing through the Rotting Corpses and heading straight for Wu Heng.
......
Wu Heng watched them through his gas mask.
He pulled out the machine gun from his spatial ring, held it in his arms, and pulled the trigger.
Bang bang bang~!
Bullets whistled out in rapid succession.
The pirate captain's eyes narrowed, instinctively diving to the side, rolling behind a protruding rock.
The charging pirates were instantly struck by bullets.
Their bodies were torn apart, collapsing in heaps.
"Skull-Crusher, Blood Axe, go kill him."
Wu Heng ordered again and charged directly as well.
Skull-Crusher leaped high, his battle axe cleaving toward the rock.
The captain rolled back, kicking Skull-Crusher in the chest, sending himself stumbling three steps back.
His eyes were filled with shock and disbelief.
At the same time, Blood Axe charged from the side, swinging his giant battle axe relentlessly.
Forcing the captain to retreat step by step.
Wu Heng followed closely, casting [Contagion Ray] and [Weakening Ray] repeatedly.
The rays struck the pirate captain.
Realizing the situation was dire, the captain turned and tried to flee.
Wu Heng pulled the trigger again.
Bullets pierced his thigh and lower back, sending him stumbling to the ground.
Skull-Crusher and Blood Axe charged in instantly.
"Don't kill me! I can serve you, help you with anything. I have money; you can have it all…"
Bang~!
The war hammer came down, knocking his twin blades aside.
The second battle axe slashed open his chest plate and struck his chest.
Flesh split open, and blood gushed out.
"Damn, why are you targeting me? You're no saint either…"
Bang!
The battle axe fell again, severing his head.
Wu Heng glanced at the battlefield, raised his machine gun, and started firing.
Bang bang bang~!
The muzzle spewed flames, and both Rotting Corpses and pirates fell together.
The ground was covered with bodies.
......
He reconnected to the radio.
"Have you found her?" Wu Heng asked.
Sheila Grey's voice came through the earpiece, "Not yet. How's it going on your side?"
Wu Heng looked at the bodies littering the ground. "I can still hold on. Search thoroughly; don't worry about me."
"Alright! Be careful."
He ended the communication.
Wu Heng began searching the bodies, picking off various items.
[Bloodthirsty Twin Blades (Artifact)][Spatial Ring][Endurance Belt].
Wu Heng collected all the items.
His gaze shifted to the remaining boats behind.
"Let's go, we're boarding."
