Chapter 179 - Chapter 176 - Shattered Piece of Life.

Herbert Medical And Technology

Savannah's hands trembled as she stared at the iPad infront of her, the dim screen illuminating her tear-streaked face. The video continued playing, and her breath hitched when she saw her son, Theo, walk inside with Arthur beside him. They stopped in front of Blaze, who was seated in his study chair, his eyes fixed intently on Theo. But there was something unsettling about Blaze's stare—something dark and menacing and unnerving.

Her heart raced as she took in the way Blaze scrutinized her son, his expression completely devoid of warmth. It was a look she had never encountered before, not even in her darkest nightmares. A look that made her shiver. She watched as Blaze slowly rose up from his chair, moving around the large wooden desk until he was directly in front of Theo. Leaning against the desk, he tilted his head slightly, his calculating gaze never wavering from the little boy.

Theo, blissfully unaware of the tension in the air, looked up at him with wide, innocent eyes. Savannah's breath caught in her throat. Seeing her son alive, hearing his voice—even through a screen—made it feel as if he were right there with her, so real and tangible.

"Do you know where Savannah is?" Blaze's voice sliced through the silence.

Savannah sucked in a sharp breath. Her child—the voice she had longed to hear—was finally speaking.

"She's working late hours at the hos—" Theo started, but Blaze didn't let him finish.

"Cut the crap. This is all your fault," Blaze snapped.

Savannah flinched at the harshness in his tone, a wave of fear washing over her. Theo's eyes widened, looking up at Blaze with a mix of confusion and innocence, completely unaware of the monster standing before him.

"What do you mean?" Theo asked, his small voice filled with uncertainty.

Blaze stepped closer, looming over the child.

"If it weren't for you, she wouldn't have been taken." His voice had dropped to a chilling calm, yet it felt even more threatening. "It's because of you that she's missing. You're the reason she's not here, Theodore."

Theo stood there, frozen in place, his tiny fingers releasing their grip on his favorite toy. The soft thud of it hitting the floor echoed in the room. Savannah's stomach twisted violently. She felt sick. This couldn't be happening. The man she had once thought of as her savior was revealing himself as a devil in disguise. Her grip on the iPad tightened, nails digging into the device, tears blurring her vision as they streamed down her face.

Elijah, still on the other end of the phone, listened in silence. He could hear everything happening in the video-the venom in Blaze's voice, Theo's frightened silence, Savannah's uneven breathing. He had worked with Blaze for years and knew the depths of his cruelty, but this—this was something else. Something vile. Disgust washed over him, making him feel sick to his core. He could only imagine the torment Savannah was enduring at that moment. The betrayal, the anguish—it was unbearable.

Savannah, unable to bear what she was witnessing, collapsed to the floor, her entire world crumbling around her. But the video kept playing.

"I didn't do anything! Mom—" Theo protested, his voice cracking, but once again Blaze cut him off.

"This, Theodore," he sneered, "is exactly why I don't want you anywhere near Savannah."

Savannah's breath hitched. She could see the sheer hatred in Blaze's eyes. How could he? How could he say such things to a child? Her child? More tears cascaded down her face.

"Arthur." Blaze's voice was steady, commanding.

"Boss," Arthur replied, stepping forward.

Without a word, he moved to the far end of the room. A low creak broke the silence as a hidden door slid open on the left side. Savannah's heart pounded.

Blaze turned back to Theo, a twisted smile creeping onto his lips.

"You want to see your mommy?"

Theo's tear-streaked face lifted with a glimmer of hope. "I want to," he whispered, voice shaky but eager.

Blaze nodded, gesturing towards the darkened opening. "She's inside. Hiding from you."

Theo hesitated, glancing at the secret passageway. "You're not lying?"

Blaze crouched down to his level, staring at him intently. "You don't have to go if you don't want to," he said smoothly. "Arthur."

At that command, Arthur shuffled back to the wall, and the secret door began to close.

"I want to go to Mommy!" Theo shouted, stepping forward frantically.

A sinister smile crept across Blaze's face, one that felt calculated and cold. He nodded. "Arthur."

With that, Arthur moved again, and the door slid open once more. Without a second thought, Theo dashed toward the passage, his small voice echoing, "Mommy!" as he disappeared inside.

The door started to close behind him.

Savannah gasped, her hand flying to her mouth as she watched in horror. "No... no, no, no!" she whispered, panic seizing her chest.

Blaze and Arthur left the room without another glance. The screen faded to black.

For a moment, there was nothing. No sound. No movement. Just an eerie silence.

Then Savannah let out a choked sob. She felt like she couldn't breathe. The walls around her seemed to close in as she gasped for air. The iPad slipped from her grasp, clattering onto the floor. She barely registered Elijah's voice on the phone, calling her name, his tone laced with concern. But she couldn't answer. She couldn't form words.

Her world had just shattered right before her eyes.

With shaking hands, she ended the call and stumbled to her feet, her entire body trembling. The air in the office felt suffocating, the walls closing in on her. She had to get out. Now.

As she stumbled toward the door, nausea hit her hard, and she collapsed against the cold wall outside.

It was all too much. Too horrific.

And the worst part? It wasn't over yet.
