Chapter 103 - Chapter 102 The Aftermath II

Well, the decision was finally made and the court was adjourned immediately. The heroes who wanted tough sentences for Inazuma were quick to get away, saying that they had important business to attend to. Many of the people still present at the court snickered at the blatant lie they were using to get away quickly, as they feared retaliation from Inazuma for trying to make him suffer in jail.

"We need to keep an eye on them. Since they had quit the hero career when they were needed the most in a timeline, chances are they are skirting their duties even now. I will talk to a few of my subordinates to look into them," Edgeshot replied from the side. He was a hero from a traditional family who respected honor in the jobs that protect others. Plus, he was also with Mirko and the others and agreed with the fact that Inazuma had done the right thing in taking care of the troubles that had a big chance of harming the people.

"I am sorry you had to take up the burden of facing all of this alone. I will try my best to make sure that your absence will not affect the safety of the people," Jeanist, who was still skeptical about his stance on the decision taken by Inazuma, just wished him the best he could and went to prepare.

In the last month Inazuma had gone missing, the crime rate had risen by a lot, and now Inazuma had been permanently stationed on the night shift alone. Many heroes knew that this would create difficulties unless they prepared themselves, so they began to plan ahead.

"Don't worry, kid. If you ever feel like coming back, ignore those idiots in the government. We will make sure to have your back when you do come back," Mirko said with a wide grin before going on her way. Orca too gave a nod and made sure to give the locations of his jurisdiction. Since he was proficient in sea and ocean areas, the range in which he had to work was too big, and most of it was done during nighttime. Having Inazuma's help would trim down criminal activity in the long run.

Many heroes had declared their support and gone about their ways until only Endeavor and Hawks remained. Endeavor nodded at Hawks and went to stand outside. Inazuma felt that he was giving them privacy and that there would be a discussion after this with Endeavor.

They stood there in silence for a few moments. Seeing that he needed a nudge, Inazuma initiated the conversation.

"If those guys try to blackmail you by using the identity of your father, don't worry. The moment they do, not only me but every hero that stood with me today, along with all the people you have saved in your career, will stand with you."

Hawks' eyes widened in shock. Whatever he was hoping to hear from Inazuma, what he heard just now was not even close to it.

"How did you—"

"Remember the time I looked into the corruption of the committee to free Lady Nagant?" Inazuma interrupted him. Hawks nodded.

"I also knew that they would be trying to find a replacement for her so that they could keep on killing those they considered dangerous for the ideal government they wanted to control. So I made sure to get as much evidence as possible that incriminated those people who are currently in power.

The last time, the aim was to free Nagant, so I made sure to find the worst among them and make him pay for the crimes he had committed. This does not mean the ones that came later are saints in any way. People in power always have something dark in their closet. This is because when you achieve this much power in society, knowing that you have a dark past makes you more trustworthy to others who are at that same power level.

This will be the truth no matter what kind of revolution happens in society. Even if someone honest comes along, the weight of the power will make sure that they eventually dip their hands in corruption to stabilize the lives of the majority.

What I did years ago was just choosing the slowest acting poison, so that even if the worst happens, either we or our successors in the future will have enough time to turn it around."

Hawks was still shocked by the revelation and the subsequent speech given by Inazuma. He never imagined that the person before him had such an understanding of society even at such a young age.

Inazuma slightly patted his shoulder.

"As I said, the corruption of society will still remain, but for some time at least, in this country, as long as I am here, I can protect you and the others from being exploited, at least until I am no more. So just do what you want to do and be the hero to the people while making sure your idol—the person who is going to be crowned as the No. 1 hero—does not have too much stress. Since the information from the future that I gave him is heavier than anything a man can handle on his own," Inazuma said as he walked to the door.

Hawks stood silent for a moment, but as he listened to Inazuma leaving the room, he immediately turned around and almost shouted.

"Enmado Inazuma!!"

Inazuma turned his head to find the man bowing his head fully toward him.

"Thank you for all you have done for me. And I promise I will do my best, not only to make sure that no one else gets trapped like me and Nagant but I will also make sure to save as many people as I can in this life.

I can't promise that the things I do will last in this world after I pass away. But until I do, I will do my absolute best to do so."

Hawks had tears falling from his eyes as he said this. But Inazuma smiled, as he knew that these were not tears of sadness, but the tears of a man who would become one of the beacons of hope in the future he envisioned.

He walked outside toward Endeavor to have the next talk—maybe one of the most important ones Endeavor needed right now in his life.

A/N- hope you like it and every 100 powerstone gets extra chapter of Jason.
