Chapter 101 - Chapter 100 Making sure it was over.

Inazuma made sure, with super speed, to scan the entire area filled with the roasted dead body of All For One to ensure that not even a molecule was left intact alive. He didn't want to see a clone of All For One made somewhere in the future by some idiot who wanted to take over the world.

And when you think about it, he still hadn't dealt with Nine, the degraded copy of All For One who was still in prison. Inazuma had made sure that this time, he wouldn't be able to escape. But since All For One was dead, it wouldn't be long before some shadow government agency or another dangerous organization tried to gain control of that power.

"Haah," Inazuma sighed. Before coming to this world, he had no idea about any of this, as he had believed that dealing with only a few problems would make the world a better place. But after dealing with the darkness for many years, he had come to understand the necessity of such things in society.

To fix this, no sudden movements could be made, as it would destroy the peace currently experienced by the majority of the population. Inazuma had asked Nezu about this when he was young and had received a detailed answer.

It could be said that it only fueled his decision to help those people in the dark. And to ensure that a major part of them could be freed from the darkness, he was going to do something more today.

After making sure everything was alright, Inazuma began running toward his next location.

As he ran, a caller ID appeared on the screen of his mask.

"What's up, Nezu? I'm going to finish off the last piece of trash and be done for the night," Inazuma said first, as he had a feeling Nezu was going to dissuade him from what he was about to do.

Inazuma heard a sigh from the other side.

"Are you sure you can deal with the repercussions?" Nezu asked.

"The death of Chisaki can be covered up. I made sure the entire boat and every one of his henchmen ended up at the bottom of the sea in pieces so small that no one will be able to find anything, even if they go to that location.

Garaki had done most of his experiments on children and many kidnapped individuals, so the evidence left behind at the battle site is more than enough to silence those who argue against using excessive force on a man over a century old, surrounded by capable subordinates who can teleport.

Plus, the act against All For One can be attributed to him taking a quirk-enhancing drug that would have made him explode and destroy a large part of the city if not taken down sooner. And since he was stupid enough to inject that drug in front of the media, it'll be easy to convince the public."

Inazuma said this in a single breath as he ran toward his next location.

"But your next target isn't such a simple person. He's effectively more annoying compared to the others you've taken down. At least All For One and Chisaki could be classified as enemies of the government and its people. But Rikiya is different—he's the sole owner of Detnerat Company, one of the leading companies in charge of creating equipment for people with physical quirks. Plus, he runs many companies that produce hero gear.

Although the records you gave me show that almost all the heroes getting equipment from them are part of the Liberation movement, how are you going to convince the Hero Committee and the government?"

"Give them the information from the future. Those files contain certain passwords and folders that only they can access. Future Nezu prepared them while contacting the officials who were still alive at the time. Thankfully, the majority of those we need to convince are still around."

Nezu seemed to make annoyed sounds.

"Even if by some miracle they believe it's true, and even if they end up benefiting, you know how those people act. They'll still try to make things difficult."

"I know. That's why, after today, I'll go completely underground without any chance of coming back," Inazuma replied, shocking Nezu. One of the perks of being a famous hero is the popularity that comes with it, and with popularity comes political power. So the party he sides with gains an advantage in elections.

This was one of the government's concerns—they didn't want heroes to hold that kind of influence.

But if a hero goes underground, they may get rewards for solving cases, but they receive no recognition. This path is mostly taken by heroes who committed crimes and seek redemption.

If Inazuma, a highly influential figure, chooses this path, the government will be willing to offer concessions for what he is about to do.

"Inazuma… Are you sure about this? If you do this, there's no going back. You're one of the best of your generation. You could easily be the next Symbol of Peace. Are you sure you want to pay the price and go down this path?" Nezu tried to dissuade Inazuma, feeling that he was about to destroy a brilliant future.

"Nezu," Inazuma spoke slowly, "I made my decision the moment I put the costume on and started this work. Saving people comes first. And I'll make sure to do it, wherever I am. Plus…"

Inazuma was silent for a moment as he gazed into the boardroom of the company, where the major leaders of the Liberation Army lay dismembered—except for Re-Destro, who had lost four limbs and was listening to the call.

"I completed my work," Inazuma said, ending the call and looking at Destro, who seemed to understand after hearing it.

"Did our army fail in the future world as well?"

"Yes. The only thing that changed in this world was the number of casualties you caused. Even in the other world, your strongest rioters—other than the ones now dead in this room—awoke from the lies you fed them."

"Huh… haha…" Destro tried to laugh, but his wounds hurt too much. "If we hadn't gathered here today to watch the Battle of All For One, it would have made things harder for you, right?"

"Yeah," Inazuma said as he took his sword and carried out the last execution he had planned for the day.

"Machiavelli talked about using cruelty once, but effectively. There will be many people in all sectors that hold power—upper and lower—who will hear about this. I hope it knocks some sense into them not to push their luck," Inazuma muttered at last as he removed every trace of himself from the crime scene.
