There was something Haru noticed that was rather odd.

All the strange and eerie events happened at night. Even the warning from the System at the start of the test had focused mostly on the dangers of the night.

And the souls of the dead crew—returned by day and gone by night.

Though their existence was eerie in itself, Haru understood one thing about them.

Their will.

Their duty.

All they wanted was to protect the living and reach the land.

Taking everything into account, only one conclusion made sense…

'Night definitely plays a crucial role here…' Haru was sure of it, as the current quest also implied that they had to escape to the land before nightfall.

'This presence—it's definitely the same one that was heavily breathing down my neck, but Masamoto returned to normal during the day… The living were gone by night and returned as souls by morning… And its reluctance to go out in the light… It's starting to make sense now, a connection…'
