Hello everyone this is the author speaking. First off… I dont own anything related to the story of ffxiv. All rights go to the creators of ffxiv. This is a fanfic that follows my own group of oc's. This is my first story posted and I hope it goes well! I apologize ahead of time for any grammar and punctuation mistakes. I'm really not the greatest writter but I find it fun.
My MC is a Hyur/Midlander samurai and his family was originally from Othard, Kugane. When the Garlean empire invaded his mother escaped with him in her womb. His mother gave birth after theb escape and raised him alone while traveling Eorzea. She became his Samurai teacher when he turned 10.
The wiki says that the Garlean Empire invaded Doma 25 years prior to stormblood expansion so the MC will be 20 years old at the beginning of the story. So I'm putting all the events from ARR and Heavensward to happen in 5 years of time. After reviewing more I'll put up a better timeline so you will know how everything takes place in my stories timeline.
The story will follow the main story of ffxiv. So some interactions will be the same as in game. Since the MC has a personality they will also have small differences then in game.
There will be original quests that I add to my story that don't happen in ffxiv. I'll maybe even add in some special events like when the members of ffxv appeared in the world of ffxiv.
There will be deaths of OC's throughout the story. Unlike in the game there is no reviving other than resurrection from a white mage. But the resurrection has to happen within an hour of death or else the target can't be brought back.
There is only one warrior of light being the MC. The rest are adventurers. All adventurers have the ability to teleport to aetheryte crystals/shards. I gave the warrior of light an ability from Hydaelyn to teleport his FC members to his side for an encounter. The teleport is limited to a certain ammount of people by what hydaelyn considers the difficulty of the encounter.
Characters won't be limited to abilities the game gave the classes. Battles will be more realistic. All healers can also use buff magic like haste.
The MC's first wife won't appear until around the time of the titan fight. Her class is dancer and she is of the Viera race. The only other wife I plan for him as of right now is going to be of the Miqo'te race and idk what job or when she will appear in the story yet. She might not appear until he reaches the Heavensward storyline.
Chapter Releases will start off at 1-2 ch a week since I work a full time job and enjoy playing some games before work so I usually only write on my two days off. If I get chapters bulked up then I'll occasionally have a mass release of chapters. I'll try to keep Chapters between 1,500/2,500 words. I'll try to keep Releases to Tuesday/Friday
I plan on making a discord in the future for fans to chat and share ideas. Also I'll be posting screenshots of each character from inside the game so the readers know exactly what they look like.
I hope the story brings even more people to the game. And to the people who already have been playing the game, I hope you enjoy the story and remember the early days when you went through this with your character!
