(A/N: A Little late but here it is)
Damon quickly completed the objectives Momodi assigned to him. He even attuned to all the smaller Aetheryte crystals around the city. He used some of the money his mother gave him to stock up on some healing potions. The scar on his face was a constant reminder of what happens when you get too cocky and don't have healing potions on you.
When he arrived at the Adventurers' Guild he immediately headed towards Momodi. She immediately smiled at him. "How was your tour of the city? Did you get lost at all?"
Damon chuckled to himself. "It was great and no miss I didn't get lost" She nodded her head at his words. "Good now it's time for you to take on some real jobs!" She immediately starts shifting through papers. "Ahh here you go. Papashan seems to need some help out at the Dispatch Yard. Exit through the Gate of Nald and travel east and you will find him there"
"Ok, thanks miss Momodi!" He turned around and quickly headed for the Gate of Nald. On his way he fought a couple of huge hornets and star marmot. They didn't hold him up much and he also received some honey and animal skin for his troubles.
As he approached the tracks a male lalafell wearing glasses called out to him. "Hey are you the new adventurer Momodi told me to expect?" Damon nodded to the lalafell. "Indeed I am. I take it that means you are Papashan?" He nodded back. "Yes I am. I'm the stationmaster of this humble dispatch yard. The job I need your help for is really important" Damon turned serious "What do you need sir?"
"A young noblewoman from a very prestigious family has ran away from home and I have been tasked to see to her safe return. As you can probably tell I don't have much help here and the help I have isn't the brightest bunch if you know what I mean… Can you please help me?" Papashan bowed towards Damon. "Of course sir. I couldn't just stand around and chance a young woman with probably zero combat experience to get hurt by the monsters out here"
"Praise the Twelve, I knew I could count on you! Her name is Lady Lilira. I want you to go south and look for her in the vicinity of the Sultantree. Good luck!"
Damon immediately headed south of their current location looking all around with a hand on the hilt of his katana. His current Katana was a gift from his mother. It was the one she used during her time as an adventurer. She told me she met his father during her travels. She was going from job to job and my father was a guard at a small town in kugane. She ran into him everytime she went through that town and after two years of meeting him every so often she decided to settle down in that town. Shortly after she learned he was the lord's son and heir to the territory that the town is located in and they got married.
Honestly hearing that story from his mother his first thought was she only married him for his title but then after thinking about it longer he realized his mother was seeing his father for two years before and even settled down in that very town without knowing he was the lord's son. She probably married him immediately to give herself a reason to not go on an adventure again in the future.
While thinking about things from the past and looking for the young noble woman he started seeing trees that look like mushrooms. In the middle of them was a giant one. "That must be the Sultantree" he mumbled to himself. He approached the tree on guard just in case.
He saw a small lalafell wearing a pink robe and hat praying towards the tree. He didn't want to be rude and interrupt her prayer so he just stood a distance away and waited for her to finish. Shortly she jumped up and looked over her shoulder at his direction "Show yourself!"
Damon put his hands up and was about to apologize but then another man spoke from behind him. "As you command, O lilira" Damon jumped in between the woman and man and lowered his body with his hand on his katana hilt ready to draw. He didn't know how the man got there.. He didn't feel the man's presence at all. He had cold sweat running down his back. The unknown man put his hands up to show he means no harm.
"Forgive my selfish desire to assure your welfare lady Lilira". Damon relaxed slightly realizing that the woman was the noble lady he was looking for and the man seemed to be a guard of her. She complained about not needing an escort and telling the man to pretend they didn't ever meet and continue on his way.
The man sighed at her words. "You know I can't do that. It's not safe for you to be here alone". Damon nods his head in agreement with the man's words. The man then turned towards Damon. "You must be the adventurer Papashen mentioned. Congrats on finding our elusive young charge. You should return with us. Papashen will surely be eager to thank you in person"
A cry was heard and they all looked up at the culprit. It was a beast flying down towards us. The man shook his head. "Seems Papashen will have to wait… Lilira for my sake please stay out of harm's way. And you my friend, for lilira's sake, please stay in harm's way" Damon gave a small laugh at the way the man asked him to help fight the beast. (A/N The monster's name was 'Blanga' but since they didn't seem to know that I just left it to be called a beast.)
When it landed Damon and the man jumped into Battle. Damon launched a fast Quickdraw before sidestepping a claw attack made by the Blanga. The man jumped to the otherside of the creature and quickly stabbed it with his knife. From the visible damage Damon saw he knew that the fight was going to take some time to complete. He immediately used Hakaze into a Jinpu and then a normal slash towards the beast's wing. The beast protected its wing and shouted out a cry.
Two smaller versions of itself appeared and headed towards us. "Hey take out those small ones quickly! I'll hold down the big guy" The man yelled out to him. Damon went directly to the two small beasts. He did a normal slash to the closest one. He then did a quick Hakaze killing the first one and immediately did a Jinpu killing the second one. He immediately returned to the big beast and did a fast sneaky attack on its left wing cutting it off.
The beast fell down onto the ground completely. It cried out in pain and hatred immediately attacking Damon. He blocked the claw attack with his blade and attacked the beast. The beast clocked the attack with its claw and swiped its tail at him.
Meanwhile two more smaller beasts attacked but since the big boy was focused on Damon the other man quickly took care of them. The battle continued on and Damon with the help of the man was able to wear down the beast. The two men could tell it was getting tired and as soon as Damon saw an opening he immediately jumped in and used Hakaze followed by Jinpu killing the beast.
After the beast body slowly disappeared Damon saw a crystal on the ground. Damon felt something weird well looking at it… It felt like the crystal was calling to him. He walked over to it and picked it up. The crystal glowed and next thing he knew... he was back in the unknown realm from back on the carriage.
"Hear...Feel...Think…" The voice spoke to him again and then the surrounding area changed and meteors were falling from the sky….
