At Luming Observatory, there were also morning lessons. Twelve disciples sat together to study Taoist scriptures, which were unrelated to religion and filled primarily with theoretical knowledge.
Each disciple progressed at their own pace. Xun Yu provided individualized guidance, paying special attention to Gu Yu and Lu Xiaolian. Particularly Lu Xiaolian, a village girl who had endured poverty since childhood and was illiterate, struggled with a deep sense of inferiority.
Xun Yu taught her personally, using gentle words to encourage her, quickly gaining the little girl's boundless admiration. Gu Yu, too, systematically gained an understanding of the cultivation system, especially its levels of progression.
