Chapter 1 - "Do you Believe in God?"

Long ago, humans would look up to the sky.

And there— they would see their benefactor and become enlightened by his embrace.

As if such merciful bounties existed to grace the pleas of us sinners.

"Plea- Please!-" She cried, coughing as she looked up to the lone light in her dim room, the pacing of her heart fast as if electricity had given it a jump start.

God does not exist in such a world. Filthy- tainted.

She coughed, inhaling the air that could barely reach her lungs. Her fingers- tipped purple was her hand eventually fell from the high light she attempted to grasp.

God is not merciful to those who are not worthy of the gates of Heaven.

She laid there, her dim brown eyes only managing to see the figure loomed above her. Disgusting and filthy, smelling of such a stench that burned those who inhaled it.

"I hope you have learned your lesson." The tall creature stood there, as if pleased with it's work as they eventually turned to leave the child behind.

Once again, in that dark, dingy room.
