Chapter 2 - LOVE

His long blond hair reached a little below his shoulders, shone in the sunlight but his pale skin lacked any shine. His eyes were ice blue that intimidated anyone who looked at him straight on.

This is how Boruto had become, an antisocial who annoyed people. He spoke what was fair and necessary. Only when he was alone with Mitsuki and Shikadai did he show himself as he used to be since he hadn't killed her old personality, he just waxed or let her surface with certain people. But not even they could get out what had been the real reason for her drastic change.

Although not everything had been for the worse since being colder and more calculating he was more effective in the missions, managing to do a great teamwork following Shikadai's orders and thus having a high percentage of successes. That afternoon they were in the Hokage's office presenting the report on the recent mission accomplished. Another great success of team 7.

Boruto looked at his father with his usual indifference. When they finished they were about to leave the Hokage's tower when Naruto asked his son to stay a moment. The others, including Shikamaru, left, leaving them alone.

Boruto looked at him without any emotion, without curiosity or enthusiasm. It was like looking at an ordinary stone. Naruto watched him for a few moments and finally took a deep breath before speaking:

Boruto... son... this can't go on like this... Boruto was still looking at him impassively.

You improved as a ninja I admit but your attitude... it's been a year since you changed and you never said anything to anyone.

What happened to you? As his son remained silent, Naruto shook his head in resignation. You leave me no choice then. Boruto crossed his arms.

I'll have to let the investigation squad investigate your mind until they find the answer that justifies such a change in you. That upset Boruto to the point of not being able to but he made a superhuman effort to continue holding the mask of indifference.

Although he actually wanted to cry and yell at his father to leave him alone, that he would not continue destroying his life. His eyes met and Naruto could see that embarrassment in his son's eyes. It was a big step indeed.

He watched as Boruto nailed his fingernails into his arm, feigning calm and indifference.

"Son...I won't if you voluntarily choose to speak up, tell me what happened to you.

"Who? You?" Boruto said hoarsely.

Should I... tell... you? His voice cracked at the last moment.

Boruto...I'm your father and I worry about you...you worry us all...

Boruto looked the other way feeling cornered, he didn't know how long he could resist without completely breaking down and he would hate for that to happen in front of his father... the cause of his current state.

7You worry about me. he said mockingly to look at it again.

Yes, of course and I believe it and everything.

Boruto, what's up son? Tears began to wet his face and furiously he wiped them from her face. How could his father be so cynical?

"You care about me, that's why you plan to lock me up with your squad of psychopaths to play with my mind... invading my privacy... because you care about me... of course... That sounds very logical, right... dad? Boruto I don't want to do it...

Then don't damn it.

At that moment Sasuke entered after hearing the last part of the conversation. Boruto's and Sasuke's gazes crossed. Both showed the great sadness and despair they felt but it was only a moment. Naruto did not give it due importance, alluding to the fact that his son was already upset.

"Sasuke. said the Hokage. We are…

Since you are his friend. Boruto said interrupting his father. And you're the only one my father really listens to...convince him not to give me up to be used as experimental material, yes? You owe me Sasuke, remember that.

Then, unable to bear it anymore, he left the place and although Naruto wanted to stop him, Sasuke stopped him.

Leave it Naruto.

Don't get involved Sasuke, that boy is not well and I have to do something.

Don't do anything to him, he respects his time. I owe him huh? What did they mean you owe him?

What do you owe him?

Having escaped from the dark castle.

Naruto sighed heavily, throwing himself back on his chair.

Boruto was his Achilles heel in every way.

Sasuke handed her a new scroll that he found in another of Kaguya's ruins and left.

Leave Boruto alone, when he is ready he will speak. It's a piece of advice from a Naruto friend. I retire.

You will you go so fast?

Home to eat .

But not from the village, I plan to spend some time here.

At least one good news. Naruto said relieved. Shikamaru entered at that moment and Sasuke took the opportunity to leave.

Naruto was still worried about his son, he no longer knew how to get to him or what to do.

It was Sasuke who hurried to reach Boruto since he knew that he was not far away. He found it at the place where they used to go to chat sometimes.

It was a place away from everyone and that night the moon illuminated it completely. It didn't take long to see him there, crying.

Without being able to contain himself, he approached from behind and without warning hugged him tightly.

No matter how much Boruto struggled and bawled to get rid of him, he did not succeed. Little by little he stopped fighting.

"That's it my love." Sasuke said hoarsely. That's it.

"No...it's not...you...you tore me...me...you tore my soul apart...damn...and now my father is going to...to...

He won't do anything. then I turn him around so I can look him in the eye.

Your father won't do anything to you, he just wants to know what happened...

You're like this because of me right?

Moron. Boruto looked at him unable to stop crying.

Forgive me, my love. Sasuke hugged him tightly feeling how that intense love towards the younger blond overwhelmed him.

That afternoon nothing I said was true, nothing.

"What, but...

It's just that Boruto , I was afraid... I still have it... To see the great disappointment in your father's eyes...I...I couldn't stand that. I owe him so much...so much that...you have no idea how much your father did for me in the past.

Sasuke...do you love me?

With every fiber of my being, so much that it hurts...

Boruto threw himself at the brunette devouring him with his kisses and he could do nothing to avoid it. I hold him tight in his arms, answering each kiss with a more intense one.

Sasuke. he said walking away to get some air.

I never stopped loving you, I tried to hate you but it was impossible my love... I can't... hate you... I... love you...

Forgive me Boruto...forgive me...

Please my love don't leave me again... please...

This... It's wrong, I know damn it... I know but... I love you.

It's time to tell him the truth, don't you think?

Are you sure?

No, but at least it's correct. I don't want to lie to him...not to him...not to the one who did so much for me and to whom I owe being here now. Boruto saw the terror in the eyes of his beloved but at the same time he saw the determination to face his fears.

He was right, it was time to be honest and stop making so many people suffer.

Firmly holding Sasuke's hand, they both headed towards the Hokage's tower. This time they would speak the truth at all costs but they were sure of something, they would not allow anything or anyone to separate them again.
