Chapter 3 - Holiday notes 3

This is the building" she pointed at an old building.

Okay, this building looks very aged, more like an ancient house. But is this the precise location of the address? Is this where Almighty Aunt Margaret resides?

Hummingbirds surrounded the rooftop. I walked to the gate, ringing the bell. In an instant, the gate swung open.

"Dear Holiday, I thought you wouldn't recognize this place, but here we are," she said, embracing me.

Darn it, my aunt's perfume is overpowering, and I felt like I was suffocating. I gently moved away from her because I couldn't bear the noxious scent.

Turning to Sandra, Aunt Margret asked, "Have you made a new friend? That's fast," she winked.

"Can I go now?" Sandra asked me.

"Yes, you can," I replied; she was no longer of any use.

Walking away slowly, I stared at her. Sandra looks much younger than her age; she might be sixteen, but she appears to be ten.

I noticed she turned back; our eyes met. Shocked, she averted her gaze and turned to run away.

Walking inside the building, I felt a strange aura.

"This place feels strange and bad," I thought, having some wild thoughts about it.

Eating some chocolate bars, I reflected on Aunt Margaret's poor cooking skills. That was more the reason she gave me bars of chocolate, which tasted awful in my mouth.

"Hmmm," I thought while looking around the sitting room of this ancient building. An old, worn upholstery lay by the window.

There was a spin table with no touch of flowers, and the walls bore the marks of time with stains. Maybe the walls need a thorough washing to restore their brightness

The curtains, surprisingly, still looked bright, contrasting with the aged surroundings. An antique armchair was placed in the left corner of the sitting room. I made a mental note to switch it, opting for something that better matched the timeless charm of this place
