Chapter 17 - Chapter 17 : Jin Hasn't Cut Me For Three Days

Ever since that assessment, the Ninja Academy returned to its routine teaching schedule.

However, Jin once again became famous throughout the academy!

Kakashi, as the son of the "White Fang of Konoha"—

Had practically worn a halo of genius since enrolling.

Shortly after his defeat by Jin, Kakashi chose to graduate early.

During this period, Kakashi's halo had actually dimmed considerably because of Jin.

But subsequently, as news of Kakashi's rapid promotion to Chūnin spread, coupled with Jin severely injuring a Chūnin instructor—

Kakashi's genius halo returned to his head.

It wasn't that Kakashi wasn't a genius; it was just that Jin was more of a genius!

However, as Kakashi's reputation grew within Konoha, the academy students began debating who was stronger now—Kakashi or Jin.

After all, Kakashi had become a Chūnin long ago and reportedly completed many difficult missions.

Jin, on the other hand, remained at the Ninja Academy.

People's impressions tend to fade over time.

In recent years, compared to Kakashi, Jin hadn't done much that was particularly noteworthy.

Instead, he "failed" every test with a zero.

If it weren't for Jin's undeniable strength, the title of dead-last might have belonged to Jin instead of Obito.

Through their studies at the Ninja Academy, the students also learned—

Merely studying wouldn't make one an outstanding ninja.

Only by actually undertaking missions could one truly become stronger.

Besides, Jin's behavior at the academy wasn't exactly diligent studying either.

But now, Jin had shown everyone through his actions who was stronger!

Defeating Kakashi in a single move!

The tree sliced in half had only just been hauled away.

Jin's reputation within the Ninja Academy soared even higher.

Many students from other grades and classes frequently crowded the classroom doorway, trying to see just how Jin studied.

Why was he so strong?

Some students even skipped their own classes to secretly observe Jin's class, trying to figure out his learning methods.

But... everyone who came with the intention of "learning" left speechless.

Jin... just drank and slept.

Where was even the slightest hint of studying or training?!

This left everyone dumbfounded, unable to accept the reality.

Could the gap in talent truly be this despairing?

With enough talent, could one become strong just by sleeping and drinking every day?

However, before they could complain much, Jin grew impatient with the crowd.

After "slightly" teaching them a lesson, things quieted down completely.

Most Ninja Academy students returned to their regular study routines, just like before.

Except... for a few individuals.

"Is... is it finally over?!!!"

Obito lay sprawled on his desk, tears practically streaming down his face.

Currently, Obito looked utterly miserable.

Numerous parts of his body were wrapped in bandages.

These were the painful memories of Obito's recent days!

A few days after that assessment, Jin had started targeting him.

He remembered that day—the beginning of everything.

Jin called him to a secluded corner.

Everything that followed was pure misery for Obito!

Jin's purpose for bringing him there was actually...

To cut him!!!

At first, Jin didn't cut deeply, just grazed the skin.

But Jin seemed unsatisfied, complaining discontentedly in words Obito couldn't understand.

Something like—

"Why aren't there any rewards anymore?"

"Is my cutting method wrong?"

"Too light?"

After that, Jin started cutting him a couple of times every few days.

Sometimes even while drinking!

Obito tried to run, but Jin's strength was too terrifying; escape was impossible!

Eventually, although Jin controlled his strength, the cuts became heavier!

While the depth didn't change—still just grazing the flesh—

The length of the cuts grew larger and larger.

And then, he ended up looking like this!

But for Obito, the bitter days finally seemed to be ending!

Because Jin hadn't cut him... in three days!

Three days without being cut!!!

'Do you really have to do this?'

Obito, covered in bandages, wanted to cry but had no tears left.

'You stole my goddess! Can't I even challenge you once?'

'Besides, I was the one humiliated in that challenge!'

But Obito didn't want to think about these things anymore.

Right now, all he hoped was that Jin would never cut him again.

Even if the wounds weren't serious, they still hurt!

And they needed time to heal!

The previous wounds hadn't even fully healed yet—

And then he comes over every few days to give you a couple more cuts! Who could stand this?
