Chapter 2 - Chapter 2 Supermarket Crazy Shopping

Ye Yunxi nodded, "No problem, take care on your way, masters."

After everyone had left,

Ye Yunxi immediately closed the door and stored all these items into her space.

But these things alone weren't enough.

No one knew how long the apocalypse would last!

Coupled with the extreme cold of temperatures below -50°C, these preparations were far from sufficient!

However, the balance in her credit card was running low. Ordinary people could usually only apply for a credit limit of around a hundred thousand yuan.

Glancing at the house,

Ye Yunxi decided to go all out—she would mortgage the house to the bank!

The house was located in the city center, and its current market value had skyrocketed to around 10 million yuan. Mortgaging it for 5 million wouldn't be a problem.

Soon, the money arrived in her account.

With 5 million yuan, she could buy a vast amount of supplies right now!

Ye Yunxi took the freshly acquired 5 million and went to the mall to purchase the best, most cold-resistant down jackets. Since it was currently summer,

down jackets were off-season, making them relatively cheaper.

In one go, Ye Yunxi bought dozens of down jackets, dozens of thick sweaters, socks, thermal pants, and more.

After storing all these in her space,

Ye Yunxi went to stock up on food. But then, a question occurred to her, and she couldn't help but ask, "Will the things I store in there spoil?"

The system replied:

[No, Host. As long as you place items in the space, they will remain exactly as they were when stored.]

[They won't expire or decay.]

This good?

Ye Yunxi was instantly overjoyed: "Then I'll buy even more!"

With that, Ye Yunxi went to several nearby supermarkets and purchased 500 boxes of instant noodles, 500 bags of rice,

along with rice cookers, vegetables, fruits, and the like. Since they wouldn't spoil, she might as well stock up!

After storing all these in her space,

Ye Yunxi began considering the issue of shelter.

First, the city center was definitely out of the question.

Because of the high population density, the number of zombies would also be the greatest there.

Just as Ye Yunxi was about to search for houses in the suburbs,

a phone call suddenly came through. When she saw the caller ID, her hand instinctively clenched.

A deep hatred surged in her eyes!

The call was from her stepmother, Shen Yunrou.

But after calming herself, Ye Yunxi still answered the call. She knew now wasn't the time to confront them:

"Hello, Auntie, is there something you need?"

Shen Yunrou's gentle voice came from the other end:

"Oh, Yunxi? It's like this—would you be free to come home in a couple of days?"

"Your father and I have arranged a good match for you. You're about the right age to get married, so why not meet the man? If it works out, you can start dating. If not, Auntie won't force you."

The words sounded reasonable and accommodating.

Ye Yunxi refused outright:

"Auntie, forget it. Right now, I just want to focus on work. I'm not thinking about relationships."

Shen Yunrou hadn't expected Ye Yunxi to reject her so decisively. She said:

"This is your father's idea. Are you sure you won't come back and take a look? Lately, because you haven't been home for so long, your father has been quite displeased."

"No, thank you, Auntie. I have other things to attend to. I'll hang up now!"

Without hesitation, Ye Yunxi ended the call.

She knew Shen Yunrou's intention—to hand her over to that old, ugly, pot-bellied CEO Wang in exchange for a business collaboration.

In her past life, she had succumbed to their relentless pleas and returned home, only to nearly be taken advantage of by CEO Wang.

The mere thought of that greasy, disgusting man made Ye Yunxi nauseous.

If not for the apocalypse, she might have truly fallen victim to that beast.

After all, those people had plenty of dirty tricks to coerce her when she was still defenseless.

Listening to the "beep—beep—" on the other end, Shen Yunrou fumed:

"That damned little b*tch! How dare she treat me like this!"

"Just wait until you come back—I'll make you pay!"

At that moment, Ye Shaojie walked in holding a bottle of red wine:

"Mom, if that little b*tch doesn't want to come back, let her be. It's not like we need her here anyway!"

Shen Yunrou snapped:

"What do you know? CEO Wang is an important business partner right now, and he specifically asked for that little b*tch. How can we refuse him?"

---

Ye Yunxi went to other places to purchase some solar panels and an automatic generator.

Then, she selected a house in the suburbs—a sparsely populated area so remote that there wasn't even a bus stop nearby.

The number of residents there was extremely low.

There weren't even supermarkets or markets downstairs.

Because of the lack of people and inconvenient transportation, the housing prices there were incredibly cheap.

A 120-square-meter, four-bedroom unit with a basement on the first floor—costing only 700,000 yuan.

Could you believe this was the price in a first-tier city?

Ye Yunxi immediately contacted a real estate agent and demanded to buy the house on the spot.

The agent was stunned—who would want such a remote place? They had practically given up on selling properties in that area.

When the manager heard someone wanted to buy, he immediately had the contract printed.

Ye Yunxi glanced at the contract handed to her, signed it without hesitation, and pressed her fingerprint.

Seeing how decisive the buyer was, the manager smiled and said:

"Miss Ye, here are some complimentary gifts from us. Please accept them!"

Inside were two bottles of cooking oil and a bag of rice.

It seemed the houses here really were hard to sell.

So much so that selling even one unit made them this excited.

Ye Yunxi said, "Okay, thank you."

After leaving, she stored the oil and rice in her space and went to process the property deed.

From today onward, she was the legal owner of this house—though in the apocalypse, that wouldn't mean much.

Ye Yunxi pushed open the door. The interior was fully furnished, with water and electricity already connected—ready to move in immediately!

She installed the solar panels outside

and set up the automatic generator inside.

After inspecting the surroundings,

Ye Yunxi immediately called a renovation company, offering a high price for them to install security doors and windows.

She even asked them to reinforce the walls with copper plating—preferably to the point where even bombs couldn't breach them!

The renovation team drove for over three hours to reach the location. When they arrived, they were shocked.

If they remembered correctly, houses here were nearly impossible to sell.

Why would someone want to install such high-level security here?

If this were the city center, they could understand. But here? It made no sense.

Ye Yunxi politely welcomed the workers inside and handed each of them a 1,000-yuan red envelope:

"Masters, thank you for your hard work. I want three layers of security doors here, made of the best materials. Money is no object!"

The workers said, "Miss, this place is so remote. There's no need for such high-end security doors—it's almost a waste."
