Chapter 17 - Anger Of The Lost

"That's what I'm doing! Are you blind?" Jessica rebuked angrily.

"Who the hell are you talking to in such a manner?" Isabella snapped, then landed some series of slaps on Jessica's face.

Slap.. slap.. slap

"What?" Jessica got surprised, holding her chin, her fingers bleeding.

"Yeah, that's what will happen again and again if you ever yell at me. And I promise to do worse to you if you keep daring me."

What had come into Isabella these days? She wasn't like that when Creek, Jessica's father, was still alive. In fact, Isabella was one of the sweetest siblings Jessica had ever gotten, and she loved her. What had come to the change? Jessica was so struck in shock, seeing how unbelievable it was, feeling the slap coming from someone she was way older than.

Just as Jessica was staring at Isabella with an unbelievable gaze, Caspian ran, coming close to his mother.

"You arrogant fool! Why will you slap my mother?" Caspian yelled, his sharp little voice capturing a few people's attention. Even Isabella's friends were shocked by the way the little kid stood firm, he stared angrily at Isabella.

"You little spoiled bastard!" Isabella yelled, the rage clouding her mind. She stretched her hands toward Caspian's face. Just as she was about to land him a slap, a hand stretched forward and grabbed hers.

Isabella Turning her head to look at who it was, she was shocked, stroked with fear.

it was Morgan, glaring at her. His eyes red, his brow furrowed, she suddenly began feeling a wave of fear flushing her. She didn't even notice when she started shaking, her hands trembling.

"Morgan..." Isabella stuttered, her hands trembling. "Are you a ghost?" she asked, teeth clicking together as if Isabella was being soaked into a freezer.

"Get your hands off my son!" Morgan's cold voice sounded, pushing Isabella away. The force he used sent Isabella flying backward, as if he had a kind of wave that emitted from the palm of his hands when he pushed her.

Jessica was dumbfounded, seeing her husband—who had been proclaimed dead—standing in front of her this got her clueless. Making her think if she was inside an illusion or if it was actually happening for real.

"But... but..." Jessica tried to speak, but she suddenly lost the license to do so.

"Don't speak. Just remain calm and silent, okay?" Morgan said softly. His calm voice sent a relief down Jessica's mind. She didn't know why she suddenly got this kind of relief, but it looked like Morgan's words came with a strong trust that her mind accepted so fast.

"Father!" Caspian rushed and hugged Morgan. Morgan was surprised hearing Caspian refer him as father. Could Jessica have told him who he truly was? The thought ran down Morgan's mind before a voice sounded, snapping him out.

"Who dare to interrupt my affairs?" Abigail's voice sounded with such intense rage that her voice got everybody's gaze shifted toward her.

At this point, Morgan was facing, hugging Caspian, and his back was facing Abigail as she called out. When he suddenly turned from the impact of her voice yelling, Abigail was struck with shock As her gaze met up with Morgan's face.

"What? It can't be possible," Abigail murmured inside her mind. She had seen the picture of Morgan dead, the people she instructed to end Nathan sent her the picture of him laying dead on the ground after they were done with the execution. In fact, she saw how the bullet passed through his skull. And now, seeing him standing in front of her got her body trembling in fear.

"Is that really you?" Abigail asked, her stare fixed on Morgan with disbelief.

"Yes, it's me. What do you expect? I survived," Morgan responded, his voice raising.

"Who is he? Is he some sort of a madman?" the crowd murmured, their voices echoing at the arena.
