Chapter 2 - The Cards Were Not Meant to Exist

They call me many things.

A heretic. A legend. A fool.

But my name is Forgotten.

I was once a king, cloaked in Silver and crowned in Gold.

I ruled from a high place, untouched by rain, unreachable by mercy.

My people knelt. My enemies burned. My throne endured.

And then—I loved.

A woman with stars in her eyes and fire in her breath.

Children followed. A family. A future.

But fate has no patience for kings who forget their fear.

They were taken from me. One by one.

Not by war. Not by betrayal.

But by silence.

A silence that bled through the walls and left only absence behind.

I could not fight it.

I could only ask, why?

And so I made the first four cards.

Not with ink—but with grief.

Not with paper—but with bone.

The Eternal Flame — for the resolve I could not break.

The Binding Thorn — for the love I could not keep.

The Hollow Crown — for the kingdom that followed me into ruin.

The Chain That Remembers — for the memories that refused to fade.
