Chapter 2 - The meeting and the deal

Alex's fingers flew across the keyboard as he typed out a message to his aunt, Rachel. She had recently started her own record label, and Alex knew she was always on the lookout for fresh talent. "Hey Aunt Rachel, I want to introduce you to someone who's been making waves in the music scene," Alex wrote. "His name is Landon, and he's a talented singer-songwriter. I think you'd love his music. I've attached one of his songs, 'Rebirth.' Let me know what you think."

Alex attached the song file to the message and sent it off to his aunt. He knew she was busy, but he also knew she would appreciate the discovery of new talent. A few hours passed, and Alex received a response from his aunt.

"Alex, this kid has got talent!" Rachel wrote. "The song is raw, emotional, and catchy. I'd love to meet him and discuss potential opportunities. Can you set up a meeting for next week?" Alex grinned as he read the message. He quickly typed out a response, cc'ing Landon on the email. "Landon, my aunt is interested in meeting you! She's starting a new record label, and she thinks you might be a good fit. Let's set up a meeting for next week. I'll send you the details."

Landon's response was immediate. "That sounds amazing! Thank you so much, Alex. This is a dream come true." Alex smiled, feeling happy for his friend. He knew Landon deserved this opportunity, and he was excited to see where it would take him. He sent the meeting details to Landon and his aunt, and began to make arrangements for the meeting.

A week later, Landon sat nervously in the waiting room of Rachel's record label, Alex had told him about his aunt's enthusiasm for his music, but Landon was still anxious about the meeting. As he waited, Landon took a deep breath and tried to calm his nerves. He had come too far to let his doubts hold him back. When Rachel's assistant called his name, Landon stood up, smiled, and walked into the meeting room with confidence. As Landon entered the meeting room, Rachel stood up from behind her desk, a warm smile on her face. "Landon, it's great to finally meet you," she said, extending her hand Landon shook her hand firmly, feeling a sense of relief wash over him. "Thank you for meeting with me, Mrs Rachel."

Rachel chuckled. "Well, let's get down to business. I've listened to your song, and I have to say, I'm impressed. You've got a unique voice and style that I think could really resonate with our audience." Landon nodded, feeling a surge of excitement. "Thank you, Rachel. I've been working hard to develop my sound and message."

Rachel nodded thoughtfully. "I can tell. So, let's talk about potential opportunities. We're looking to sign new talent to our label, and I think you could be a great fit. We're looking for artists who are passionate, dedicated, and willing to take risks. Can you tell me more about your vision for your music?"

Landon took a deep breath, launching into a passionate speech about his music and his goals. Rachel listened intently, her eyes lighting up with excitement. As they discussed the details of a potential record deal, Landon felt a sense of hope and possibility that he hadn't felt in a long time. He knew that this was just the beginning of an exciting new chapter in his life, and he was eager to see where it would take him. After a productive meeting, Rachel offered Landon a record deal, and he accepted with enthusiasm. As he left the meeting room, Landon felt like he was walking on air. He had done it. He had taken a chance on himself, and it had paid off in a big way.

He quickly sent a text to Alex, grinning from ear to ear. "It's official! I signed with your aunt's record label!" Alex responded almost immediately. "That's amazing, dude! I'm so happy for you."

On the other side of things, Noah and the rest of midnight fusion where recording their first single after being signed. In a state-of-the-art recording studio, Midnight Fusion, a four-piece boy band consisting of Noah, Liam, Aiden, and Julian, were hard at work laying down tracks for their debut single. The excitement in the room was palpable as they worked tirelessly to perfect their harmonies and vocals.

Each member of the band brought their unique voice and style to the table, blending together to create a sound that was both catchy and emotive. Noah's smooth, soulful voice took the lead on the verses, while Liam's rich, baritone voice added a smooth contrast. Aiden's bright, tenor voice brought a youthful energy to the mix, while Julian's raspy, edgy tone added a touch of grit and attitude. As they recorded, their producer, a seasoned music industry veteran, nodded his head in approval. "That was great, guys. Let's do it again, and this time, let's focus on blending your harmonies even more.p"

The band launched into another take, their voices weaving together in perfect harmony. They knew they were on the cusp of something special - their big break, their chance to make a name for themselves in the music industry. Meanwhile, Landon's news about signing with Rachel's record label was spreading like wildfire. Alex was beaming with pride, knowing he had played a part in helping his friend achieve his dreams.

As Midnight Fusion wrapped up their recording session, they felt a sense of accomplishment and anticipation. They knew their music was about to reach a wider audience, and they were eager to share it with the world. The question on everyone's mind was: would Midnight Fusion's single be a hit? And how would Landon's music fare under Rachel's guidance?

The mews of Landon's solo career and Midnight Fusion's debut single spread, fans took to social media to share their thoughts and opinions. Some fans of Midnight Fusion were thrilled to see the band moving forward without Landon, praising them for "dropping dead weight."

"Landon was never a good fit for Midnight Fusion," one fan tweeted. "The band's sound is way better without him. He was just a pretty face anyway."

However, Landon's fans were quick to defend him, arguing that he was unfairly forced out of the band and that he would prove himself as a solo artist.

"Landon was the heart and soul of Midnight Fusion, if you don't believeme listen to their eps." another fan tweeted. "The band did him wrong by kicking him out. We'll be supporting him every step of the way on his solo journey."

Some fans also expressed skepticism about Landon's chances of success with his new record label, questioning whether he had the talent to back up his looks.

"Landon's got the looks, but can he actually sing?" one fan asked. "We'll see how long he lasts on his own."

Others were more supportive, cheering Landon on and wishing him all the best in his solo endeavors.

"Good luck, Landon!" a fan tweeted. "We'll be rooting for you every step of the way. You got this!"

Meanwhile, Midnight Fusion's fans were eagerly anticipating the release of their debut single, speculating about the sound and style of the music.

"Can't wait to hear Midnight Fusion's new single!" a fan tweeted. "We're going to make it huge!"

As the debate raged on social media, it was clear that both Landon and Midnight Fusion had passionate fans who were invested in their success. Only time would tell if Landon would take flight as a solo artist or if Midnight Fusion would soar to new heights without him.
