Chapter 12 - Chapter 12: This Woman... Interesting

Shen Ming remained silent.

Zhuo Hang quickly stepped forward and pushed away the reporters, expertly handling the situation, as he was used to dealing with such matters for Rong Zhaonan.

"Please be patient, everyone. Miss Shen will be holding a press conference soon to address these issues. As for other questions, we kindly ask that you refrain from asking for now. Please make way, make way."

He led Shen Ming forward, trying to get her into the building.

When they saw her about to leave, the reporters panicked. The small gap Zhuo Hang had managed to clear was quickly closed by the swarm of media.

The reporters practically surrounded Shen Ming, jostling and shoving as they tried to push her down.

Zhuo Hang acted quickly, grabbing her arm and preventing her from falling.

The crowd was pushing and shoving, and it seemed like Shen Ming wasn't going to get out anytime soon.

Standing in the center of the crowd, Shen Ming's expression grew colder, her eyes scanning the surroundings, exuding a sudden aura of coldness and determination.

The journalists who had been relentlessly questioning her now froze, stunned by the sudden shift in her demeanor.

Taking out her phone, Shen Ming's face remained expressionless.

"I didn't want to address this today, but since you media friends seem so concerned about what's going on with me and my company, I suppose I shouldn't disappoint you after you've come all this way."

She opened her phone.

Speaking in a calm, deliberate tone, she added, "Listening to me speak is probably boring, so I'll play a recording for everyone."

The moment the recording started, the crowd fell silent.

A woman's voice came through the phone.

"The PR team fled overnight, and the product is in a quality crisis. Shen Ming, how long do you think you can hold out?"

"Did you cause all this trouble?"

"Isn't it obvious? Guess where your PR team, Mosca and Judy, went after they left?"

"Where did they go? You didn't bring them with you, did you?"

"The news travels fast. Thanks to your help, after I was discharged from the hospital, Mr. Ning arranged for me to take on the role of PR Director at Yidu. Don't you think that, in this position, it's quite easy to deal with a small company on the brink of bankruptcy?"

The recording ended there.

Shen Ming put her phone away.

The scene had completely shifted. The reporters were now stunned, and those with sharp ears immediately recognized the voice—it was her conversation with Cheng Anyi, the current PR Director at Yidu.

"Ms. Shen, what's going on?"

"Ms. Shen, was that conversation with Cheng Anyi, the PR Director at Yidu?"

"Ms. Shen..."

Shen Ming made a gesture, asking for silence.

"This is the truth. Our Minglai Perfume Company has never had issues with its products. Recently, our CFO, Miss Cheng Anyi, left Minglai and became the PR Director at Yidu. Since then, problems have been cropping up at our company."

Her gaze grew even colder.

"I'd like to ask, how is it that Yidu's PR Director is handling my small company so easily? Are these actions Miss Cheng's personal doing, or are they part of Yidu's official strategy?"

A reporter from a financial channel, who was familiar with Yidu Group, raised a microphone.

"Yidu Group is the most renowned PR company in Haishi. Why would their PR Director target a small company like Minglai? Is there some kind of personal vendetta, or is there some hidden agenda? Could you explain, Ms. Shen?"

Shen Ming casually pushed aside the microphone in front of her.

"For that, I'm afraid you'll need to ask Mr. Jiang Shaomo, the Vice President of Yidu, who is currently in charge of their PR department. Miss Cheng, who left our company, is now one of his top lieutenants."

The media went wild, as a video of the reporters surrounding Shen Ming outside the Minglai Group headquarters spread rapidly online. The truth behind the situation was revealed, with Shen Ming, the largest shareholder and CEO of Minglai, addressing the public.

Meanwhile, in the Yidu Group's executive meeting room, a large screen displayed Shen Ming's speech.

The full recording was also released by the media.

"Mr. Jiang, what do you think about this?" someone asked.

All eyes turned to the end of the conference table, where sat the head of Yidu's PR department, Jiang Shaomo.

Jiang Shaomo looked up at the screen, watching the woman who had caused so much stir for Yidu. He stared at her, noting that she was quite attractive—perhaps too much so.

"This woman..." he muttered, a hint of amusement in his tone. "She's not bad-looking. She'd be perfect for the entertainment industry, maybe even a solo debut."

Everyone waited, but his response was a sarcastic remark.

He adjusted his gold-rimmed glasses and smiled faintly.

"Interesting."

Standing up, he buttoned his suit jacket, his smile growing more enigmatic.

"Make arrangements. It looks like I'm going to have to meet her personally.
