Chapter 12 - Chapter 12: 012 Staff of Life

The new magical item was completed quickly.

It was a suit of all-black armor. The surface of the armor seemed to absorb all the light that shone on it, exuding a chilling aura.

Tang opened the system interface and checked the corresponding attributes.

'Item Information: A magical item crafted from the extraordinary characteristics of a Sequence Four Undying, retaining certain 'living' characteristics.'

'The wearer of the armor can freely enter and exit the spirit world by providing a certain amount of spirituality.'

'It is in itself equivalent to a small 'underworld'. By providing spirituality, it can open the gates of the underworld and quickly release a large number of soul bodies and undead accumulated within the 'underworld'.'

'When a large amount of spirituality is injected at once, this magical item will transform into the form of an incomplete mythical creature for fifteen seconds, and the duration can be extended based on the spirituality provided subsequently.'

'It grants powerful regenerative abilities. Even if the wearer's flesh is damaged, it can be restored through self-healing over a period of time.'

'Negative Influence: Will gradually lead the wearer towards death.'

'It is a living magical item. The longer the wearer carries it, the more their spirituality will be absorbed by the magical item. One day, it might even take on the wearer's appearance.'

'Sealing Method: Place it in a brightly lit room where there are no creatures that can provide spirituality within a ten-meter radius.'

Tang carefully read the information about the armor. "It's alive, huh."

Tang glanced at the armor in front of him and took out a copper whistle from the system warehouse.

When the copper whistle appeared, the armor suddenly moved slightly, then stopped again.

"It's alive, but its activity is clearly insufficient. That is to say, without a user or other creatures providing spirituality, this activity is not enough to make it move on its own."

Tang added a note to the information list provided by the system.

"If it's just like this, it's still acceptable. Next, I need to consider how to minimize the negative influence."

With his father gone, and Tang himself not a high-sequence extraordinary being, he could only use other magical items to restrain it.

Tang took out a square seal from the warehouse.

This originated from Sequence Six of the Sun pathway, the Appraiser, a magical item called the 'Crowned Seal'.

Tang took a few steps, pulled a piece of parchment from the desk, and began to write on it in Ancient Hermes, using a charcoal pen as a base.

After writing the content, Tang blew on the parchment, then took out a silver knife, walked to the armor, and scraped off a little iron powder from its surface.

He wanted to use the spirituality remaining in the armor itself to make a contract.

Mixing the 'Crowned Seal' with the iron powder, Tang pressed it onto the bottom right corner of the parchment, leaving a seal with a sun symbol on the parchment.

The words on the parchment suddenly lit up, each word shining with a hot light like the sun, somewhat scorching.

A long time later, this light slowly faded, which also symbolized the establishment of the contract.

"This will limit the activity of this armor. It will not, or rarely, exhibit living characteristics before spirituality is injected. It will also not excessively consume the user's life force on a daily basis."

"Of course, the duration won't be too long."

After all, it was a demigod-level magical item, and the contract effect only belonged to the Sequence Six level, so its strength wouldn't be too high.

Tang glanced at the content of the contract, feeling relieved, rolled it up, and threw it into the drawer.

"As for the part about death, we can only see how long it takes for Owen to become an Undying. As long as he drinks the magical item as a potion by then, the effect of the negative influence will also be interrupted."

Putting away the items, Tang called out, signaling the guards he had previously instructed outside the door to come in and take the things away.

In this way, the problem of the magical item was also settled for the time being.

Clapping his hands, Tang prepared to go out.

The people he had sent to look for the thumb trees earlier had returned, but the harvest was not abundant. In this era, there were still many mysterious and terrifying elements. Even if knowledgeable people knew that this disgusting-looking tree had non-toxic fruits rich in sugar, its chilling appearance still caused more people who saw it to cut it down, fearing it was the claws or shadow of an evil god.

Emm, it was hard to comment on this kind of thinking.

Did they think that if they cut down the tree, the evil god wouldn't come looking for them?

Bishop Rose would come to their door later to sing, dance, and rap.

Tang planted the two eerie-looking trees in the courtyard he had bought earlier.

"It still needs a certain amount of extraordinary factor influence."

Tang glanced at the system warehouse and took out a short staff inlaid with a green gemstone from it.

'Item Name: Staff of Life.'

'Item Information: A magical item crafted from the extraordinary characteristics of a Sequence Five Druid of the Gardener pathway.'

'Its appearance is a short staff, twenty inches long, made of alder wood from the highlands and inlaid with an emerald. It has unknown inscriptions all over it, suspected to be a variant of some prayers from the Church of the Earth Mother's "Holy Scripture of Life".'

'When a certain amount of spirituality is injected into this magical item, plants within a fifteen-meter radius will receive a significant boost in life force. It can germinate plant seeds, allowing them to grow unusually fast, obey the user's commands, and attack enemies.'

'It can continuously heal the user's body. Even severed fingers and ruptured internal organs can be repaired, but only limited to injuries such as severed fingers and damaged internal organs. If life is threatened, this magical item can only delay death.'

'When a large amount of spirituality is injected at once, it can release a large amount of toxins, spreading through the air and contact. Of course, the user is not immune either.'

'Negative Influence: Over time, this magical item will cause the surrounding animals and plants to frantically produce the desire to mate, and the life born will survive in a bizarre way and be full of hostility towards all creatures.'

'Sealing Method: Place it quietly in a place without animals or plants.'

"Honestly, I hate this magical item," Tang muttered, inserting the short staff into the soil where the thumb trees were planted.

This thing reminded him of when he went to find the merfolk and the monsters that resulted on the ship after the Staff of Life, near it, caused the wooden ship and some algae in the sea to mix together.

He shuddered at the thought. He really didn't want to experience that a second time.

Although it was very likely that the power of the Earth Mother remained in that part of the sea, causing the extraordinary power of the Gardener pathway to mutate. He decisively threw the magical item into the system space, but they still almost capsized, and everyone almost ended up feeding the fish in the sea.
