Chapter 8 - The Policewoman (Cecil Allen)

Following up on Carter's case, Cecil Allen drove to the gas station, her sirens blaring as she zoomed down the highway, taking a quick turn into the parking lot of the gas station. She went inside and asked the cashier who had been on shift that night to tell her everything he had seen.

The cashier explained to Cecil that he hadn't actually seen Carter at the time because he was preoccupied with the burst pipes in the toilet. And how he had already told all of this to the police who came before. Cecil assured him they were just checking everything out.

"Hmm," Cecil thought to herself. She began to wonder if it truly was a coincidence that the pipes had burst at the exact moment before and during Carter's death, especially since Carter had been killed by drowning.

Cecil Allen then unconsciously launched into a rant about the mysterious suited figures, why they didn't want anyone following up on this case, and how they would go so far as to shut down her entire police department if anyone continued to investigate.

Cecil quickly left the gas station and returned to her car. "Have a good day," the cashier said, waving. Cecil, in a rush, didn't hear him.

Getting into the front seat of her car, Cecil turned on the radio, still talking to herself. She suddenly had an idea of how to find Natalie.

Cecil strapped on her seatbelt, turned on her sirens, and began zooming down the highway, siren's blairing causing the cars around to move allowing her to get back to the station faster.
