The world bled.
Flaming helicopters crashed into broken buildings.
Artillery shells lit up the night in brief, violent flashes.
The last human forces — Chris's battered elites, Kaela, Arin, and the surviving mercenaries — regrouped behind half-collapsed barricades.
Above the battlefield, four monstrous figures remained:
Maulborn Ravager, roaring with molten rage.
Wraithcoil Siren, singing her deadly, dissonant lullaby.
Hollowbeast Grendel, covered in blood and dragging broken tanks.
Abyss Knight Erevan, standing silent with a sword of pure death.
If they were allowed to live, there would be nothing left.
---
Chris roared over comms:
"THIS IS IT!
EVERYBODY!
ALL GUNS! ALL BOMBS! ALL LIVES!"
"WE END THEM HERE!!"
---
1. Maulborn Ravager
Kaela led the charge.
Her Genesis-blessed arm flared with pure energy as she dodged under Ravager's scythe-blade.
Arin, limping but fierce, hurled grenades into Ravager's open wounds.
Explosions tore at the monster's iron flesh.
Chris's remaining heavy gunners unleashed everything — rockets, plasma bolts, armor-piercing shells.
Ravager howled, lurching forward with molten blood spraying, trying to tear them apart.
But Kaela leapt high — a single, desperate Genesis Blast from her palm — and punched straight through Ravager's skull.
The creature collapsed, shaking the ground, finally dead.
---
2. Wraithcoil Siren
Wraithcoil floated above the ruins, singing a haunting melody that made soldiers clutch their heads and scream.
But Kaela wasn't affected anymore.
She pointed skyward — and Chris's surviving sniper team, hidden under camo netting, fired synchronized railgun shots through the tendrils of her body.
Wraithcoil screamed, twisting the air into shards — but Arin climbed a crumbling building, launched himself into the air with a grapple, and stabbed her cracked porcelain mask with a Genesis-imbued bayonet.
A flash of light —
The Siren shattered into a thousand burning fragments, raining down like cursed snow.
---
3. Hollowbeast Grendel
Grendel, now berserk and glowing with blood, charged like a demon.
Mechs fired.
Tanks rolled.
Soldiers emptied clip after clip into its hide.
But it would not die.
Finally, Chris himself charged forward.
He baited Grendel into a brutal clash — sword vs monstrous claws — while his squad planted explosives under Grendel's feet.
Chris shouted:
"NOW!!"
The ground erupted in a pillar of white-hot fire, launching Grendel into the air —
Kaela and Arin combined their Genesis Core powers, forming a massive, searing energy spear — and threw it straight through Grendel's heart midair.
The Hollowbeast howled, collapsing into burning meat.
---
4. Abyss Knight Erevan
The deadliest.
The most cunning.
Erevan cut down squads with shadows, calling Hollowborn minions from the dark.
But the survivors fought smarter.
Kaela, Chris, Arin, and a dozen desperate soldiers coordinated a brutal trap:
Flanking him from all sides.
Forcing Erevan to expend his shadow energy.
Bombarding him with light-based Genesis shells that made his shadow-armor crack and scream.
When Erevan tried to summon one last army —
Arin jammed a Genesis grenade directly into his chest cavity.
The Abyss Knight's body exploded outward into mist and bone shards.
Finally.
The elite Hollowborn were no more.
---
But victory cost dearly:
Only a handful of soldiers remained standing.
Chris's elite teams were devastated.
Kaela and Arin could barely move, their bodies screaming with pain.
The battlefield was a graveyard of friends and enemies alike.
Ashes fell like snow.
---
And then...
From the center of the destruction...
Veyra stepped forward.
Untouched.
Unfazed.
Unstoppable.
She watched the slaughter with amusement, a cruel glimmer in her silver eyes.
Chris stepped forward too, dropping his rifle, gripping his massive blade in both hands.
They locked eyes.
Two legends.
Two unstoppable forces.
Around them, the world burned.
The Genesis Core flickered weakly in Kaela's trembling hands.
Chris whispered to his troops:
"Stand down.
This one's mine."
And he walked toward Veyra.
