POV: You
Location: Echo Sublevel – Abandoned Liftway
You followed the path she took—footsteps in ash, dim lights flickering overhead. No orders. No backup.
Just her.
You turned the corner and found her again—alone now, blade sheathed, staring at a half-shattered mirror embedded in the wall.
Her reflection was fractured.
So was yours.
"You shouldn't be here," she said quietly, not turning around.
"I know."
Silence.
She placed her hand against the glass.
"You think following me will fix it? That this is some kind of redemption arc for you?"
"No," you replied.
"I just didn't want you to walk into whatever Zeyren has planned… alone."
---
Seris Turns
She faced you—eyes rimmed red, anger flickering beneath a mask of calm.
"Do you think I want saving? That I didn't choose this?"
"I think you regret it," you said. "Even if you won't say it."
That did it.
Seris stepped forward, furious now.
"I regret believing you wouldn't leave me behind. I regret every night I dreamed you'd come back."
Your voice cracked: "I did come back."
"Too late."
---
A Soft Collision
No punches.
Just a pause.
Then, suddenly, she kissed you.
Not out of love.
Out of rage and grief and the hollow space where trust used to live.
She pulled away before you could breathe.
"This changes nothing," she whispered.
You looked at her, throat dry.
"Then why does it feel like everything?"
---
Scene Ends
She turned her back again and started walking.
But this time… she didn't tell you to stop following.
And you didn't plan to.
