Chapter 3 - End of the Naming Ceremony

Kaimana frowned deeply, with deep wrinkles on his forehead. "I never expected something like this to happen. The baby must be in great harmony with the blood of our ancestors.

"As you know, the number of danger beasts attacking our tribe is constantly increasing. If Kato wasn't here... sigh.

I didn't think we could defend the tribe for more than 10-15 years. I had lost all hope... but!..

This baby has more potential than Kato. When he grows up, he will be a better warrior.

The child's name will be 'Hope'! I hereby conclude the naming ceremony..."

According to the tribe's rules, the name of every newborn child was given by the tribe chief, Kaimana.

As the naming ceremony finished, whole stone build started to tremble. After that, the impaled stone started to rise.

While the crowd stepped back in panic, the whole stone began to appear.

A shapeless thing, looked like "t".

It was a 1.75-meter-long two-handed sword, the blade was around 20cm-wide, the thickness of the blade was around 3-finger-wide changed at certain points. Its sharpness also varied.

The sword's hilt was around 25-30cm and the blade was around 1.5 meters. It looked very very heavy.

The sword was above Hope, standing in the air without moving. Hope had passed out a few minutes ago.

Ding!

[The system was created for the current user to assimilate with the blood of the previous user, Guts Redleaf.]

[Current Assimilation: 0%]

[The primary form of the system is the Teigu named Sekiryu (Stone Dragon).]

[Sekiryu's abilities: While the user uses Sekiryu, user's reflexes, speed, and physical strength increases by 30%. Special skill: Carnage God's Incarnate - The user's reflexes, speed, and physical strength increases by 100% by consuming a certain amount of endurance(Duration is user-dependent).]

[Time remaining until the system fully activates: 335 days, 15 hours, 37 minutes...]

[Assimilation will now increase to 1%.]

Sekiryu's started to move forward Hope and...

Thud!

The sword pierced Hope's back and entered his body but stopped there. Considering Sekiryu's width and thickness, it was still a deadly wound.

The crowd was in shock!

Zara and Kofi's eyes widened and their bodies started trembling.

Zara screamed while crying "AaaaAAAAHHH!" and pass out.

The black log started trembling. Not just the black log, whole stone building was trembling.

Ding!

[Assimilation started.]

"Golden-red drops of bloods began to drip from Sekiryu's hilt, slowly flowing down from the blade and dripping onto the wound on Hope's back. The moment the blood touched the wound, Hope's blood started to disappear in air

Sekiryu flew back into the air, leaving a vertical wound that covered a large part of Hope's back. The wound quickly started to close.

Then Sekiryu flew towards Hope's right wrist, slowly beginning to merge into it. There was no cut, but as it entered, it started forming a tattoo that covered his wrist and forearm, starting from the palm. Then, Sekiryu disappeared.

Ding!

[Assimilation completed.]

[Current Assimilation: %1]

At that moment, the ground started to shake, and all the trees in the forest began to sway.

The Black Log trembled ominously, and then Hope's back started to arch upward. A black tendrill had pierced his stomach and was slowly spreading throughout his body."

BZZZTTTTTTT!

[A part of The Spirit of Nature started to merge with user.]

The tendril pierced his stomach, and the surrounding area started to turn white.

The tendril started to divide and spread. Slowly, it coiled around his stomach, wrapping around his spine, then spreading to his ribs and organs, gently encasing them. As the tendrils spread, the whiteness on Hope's skin also started to expand.

As the tendrils continued to spread across his skeletal system, part of it entered his flesh, wrapping around his tendons and muscles. Once the elastic and durable tendrils finished spreading, the sword wound on his back and the wound on his stomach had healed.

His body frame had broadened, his muscles had become tighter, his waist slimmer, and his shoulders broader. He looked much more muscular for a one-month-old baby.

Ding!

[Merge completed.]

[Blessing of the Spirit of Nature: Your ancestor's blood caused nature to take root in your body. You have gained a plant-like regeneration. The younger you are, the more significant the effect. As the light of life dims, the roots will wither.]

[The blows you received to your muscles, tendons and skeletons will be softened by the soft and elastic roots. Your organs will be protected, and your durability and flexibility will increased.]

Two sprouts emerged side by side from the back left center of Hope's head. Two black leaves formed, looking opposite directions. For a newborn with very short black hair, it was unusually eye-catching...

"Waaaaahhh!!" Hope was crying.

The process took about 20-25 minutes, and during that time, Zara had already woken up. She rushed over, picked up her child, and checked if there were any wounds. As a mother, she didn't care whether her child was a freak... He was alive, and he looked healthy, and that was enough.

After a heated conversation about what had just happened, the crowd eventually left, and Zara and Kofi took their child and headed home.

Inside the house

Kofi was playing with the baby with a huge smile on his face. The twin leaves on his head and the changes in his skin hadn't escaped from the family's vision. They continued to examine Hope for a while. They touched the leaf on his head, tugged it, and noticed that Hope could feel the leaves.

Zara, with a concerned expression, said, "Do you think our child will grow up healthy?"

Kofi replied, "He looks healthy to me, just look at that body!"

Zara punched Kofi's shoulder firmly and gave him a stern look.

"HAHAHAHAHAH!" Kofi, holding Hope with one hand, wrapped his other arm around his wife.

Zara, eyes teary, said, "Everyone saw what happened, what if someone... hurts our son..."

"No one will touch my son!" Kofi declared. "If I have to, I'll take on the whole world for my family!"

Zara played with the leaves on her child's head and then hugged her husband.

"Waaaaahhh!!"

Zara smiled, "Are you hungry, baby? Mommy will feed you now."
