Chapter 4 - Crossing Realms: Raj's Journey to Find His Way Home

[Complications-]

[Marked (+1pt per faction): Your arrival has somehow managed to seriously piss off some organization of your choosing. So much so that they won't stop at anything just to kill you. These organizations HAVE to be an important part of the overall plot and you can't choose some random two-bit gang. You can also take this only up to three times at max.]

[Pint Sized (+1pt): Your body has been regressed to your child version (6 - 10 years old). Nobody will take you seriously and most adults would seriously try to hamper your goals if they are dangerous, 'to protect you'. You will also have to go to the shit show that was school, so would you really want that? You can't reverse this by any means and if you want to grow up then you have to do it the long and natural way.]

[Sinful (+1pt): You will become incredibly lusty and horny to the point that it borders on criminal.]

[Illness (+1pt): You have an annoying and bothersome illness that can't be cured, no matter what way or object you use. The illness will bother and annoy you at every step and will never ever go away.]

[Gender-Bending (+1pt): Exactly as it sounds, your original gender is flipped to its opposite.]

[Castrated (+2pts): Your PP is cut off. You will even feel it being cut off and this Complication will make sure you'll never forget it.]

[Tripped (+1pt): You become a natural klutz. Your feet trips at the most inopportune of moments. This complication makes sure that you can't fix this no matter the way.]

[Geass (+1 to +2pts): You've been given a psychological limitation that can't be removed, just to keep things interesting. For +1pt it's merely annoying (you may not speak, you may not tell a lie, you gain an utterly arbitrary phobia/berserk button). For +2pts this can endanger your life fairly regularly (must follow the orders of any lawful authority figure, homicidal split personality, total pacifism).]

[Destructive Impulse (+2pts): By taking this you gain an unbelievably strong urge strong urge for conflict. Once every few months you will be overcome by this urge, needing to participate in some significant conflict or destruction. This urge can be delayed temporarily but can never be completely overcome, regardless of your willpower.]

[Metaknowledge? What Metaknowledge? (+2pts): You will forget any and all metaknowledge that you have of you [World Setting]. Note that you will still have knowledge of other medias but just not the one you will stay in. Eg. If your [World Setting] is Naruto Universe then you will only forget everything Naruto related, even Boruto, fanfics, fanons and other spin offs.]

[Enemy (+5pts): You have an enemy who hates you with the passion of a thousand fiery suns. This enemy has the same points as you and can buy any powers, perks and complications they like, the same as you. You won't know about the identity of the enemy until you discover it yourself or they reveal themselves to you.]

[You Needed Worthy Opponents (+3pts per Monster): An inhuman being whose nature and abilities are specifically meant to oppose you emerges because of your presence and power, and it strikes wherever doing so damages your cause and goals the most. It appears within a month of the beginning of your adventure, announcing itself with a ferocious assault on your location. It might not even be alone, every additional year seeing the emergence of another one. These Beings follow their own schedule of attack and care nothing for whatever stands in the way of their targets. This Complication grants 3pts for each Monster, and you take it as many times as you like. They will never be easy to defeat and you cannot avoid confrontation with them.]

[Bad Crossover (+3pts): You [World Setting] will be a crossover with a random 'Death World'. For eg. SCP, Lovecraft, My Little Pony (Eldritch Abomination Mode).]

[Everything Gets Worse (+4pts): Something random changes within your [World Setting] which causes everything to spiral towards chaos.

A critical event in the Young Justice timeline has gone horribly wrong, sending the world spiraling into chaos. Like DC's Dark Multiverse, where if something can go wrong then it WILL go wrong, the same applies here.]

Raj leaned back slightly, watching the last few options finalize on the glowing screen in front of him.

"Alright," he said, voice calm but focused. "Time to pay the price."

There was no awe or hesitation. He knew how CYOAs worked—powers, perks, then complications. The moment you got something good, the universe started balancing the scales.

Raj glanced over the complications, quickly dismissing the ones that didn't fit his goals.

Pint Sized—No way. Being small in a world full of threats would just hold him back. He needed every advantage.

Sinful—He wasn't interested in losing control to lust. His mission was too important.

Illness—Why add a useless burden? He needed to stay sharp, not fight some random illness.

Gender-Bending—His identity was something he wasn't willing to mess with. Changing it didn't sit right.

Castrated—Some things were just off-limits, no matter the world.

Tripped—A natural klutz? Not in a world like this. He needed precision and focus, not clumsy accidents.

Destructive Impulse—Raj wasn't here to destroy things. He was about precision and control, not chaos.

Metaknowledge? What Metaknowledge? —Raj actually saw this as his trump card. He didn't want to forget everything about his world. His knowledge, his understanding of the multiverse, was what would give him the edge. If he needed to pull from his past experiences to outsmart enemies or navigate tricky situations, it was a tool he could rely on. Forgetting that? Not an option.

Enemy—A rival with the same power? That could be dangerous. He didn't need that kind of headache right now.

Worthy Opponents—Monsters showing up every year? Too much. He had enough to deal with.

Bad Crossover—He didn't want his world mixed with random chaos from a "Death World." Having to deal with SCPs, Eldritch beings, or any other unpredictable threat that didn't belong would just make everything harder. He was already stepping into a world full of supers and bigger stakes—he didn't need the added weight of fighting off otherworldly horrors. It would complicate things when he needed to focus.

Everything Gets Worse—A world already in the middle of a downward spiral? He wasn't about to make things worse by diving into some disaster-ridden reality. Sure, things would go wrong at times, but he wasn't about to let the world around him fall apart just to prove a point. His focus was on controlling his path, not letting the world's chaos swallow him up. He could deal with challenges, but not a full-on breakdown of the world.

Each complication was carefully chosen to fit his goals. The rest? Not worth the risk.

Finally he Chose,

Marked (+2pts)

The Light: He wasn't even on the board yet and they'd already marked him as a variable—too unknown, too dangerous to leave unchecked. A.R.G.U.S.: National security saw him as an unsanctioned metahuman anomaly. Naturally, that meant full surveillance and eventual black-bag plans.

Raj just exhaled through his nose. "Par for the course."

Then came the Geass—Narada had warned him that these weren't chosen. They were assigned. One minor. One rare.

Geass 1 (Minor): No sexual desire unless it's your soulmate.Raj tilted his head. "Honestly? Probably for the best."

Geass 2 (Rare): You'll be drawn across the multiverse when major tragedies begin to spiral—crisis points only you can shift. That one hit different. He didn't say anything, just nodded.

Narada's voice cut through the quiet. "That's a rare one, Raj. The kind given to people who aren't meant to just live in a world—they're meant to stop it from falling apart."

Raj didn't argue. "Guess we'll see if I'm up to it."

Narada gave him a long look as the screen dimmed, the data locking into the multiverse's weave.

"Yad bhavam tad bhavati."

The words, ancient and profound, resonated within him: "As you think, so you become."

Raj stood in front of the screen as the final confirmation sealed his choices into the fabric of whatever reality lay ahead. The points were balanced, the perks powerful, and the consequences—inescapable. But even now, standing on the edge of a whole new world, his mind couldn't quite let go of his world.

"I still want to go back," he said quietly, more to himself than to Narada. "My family... my people... I wasn't done."

Narada gave him a soft, almost wistful smile. "You might not get back the way you think. But this isn't exile, Raj. It's a second chance. And second chances don't come for free. Use it. Live. Grow into someone who can return home—not as you were, but as who you were meant to become."

Raj didn't say anything, but the words stuck. They stayed with him even as the final screen faded out and the world began to shift.
