Chapter 7 - CHAPTER 7

Waking up again, before Fenghuo even opened his eyes, he caught a faint scent—clean and sterile, reminiscent of disinfectant, but oddly more pleasant. Instinctively, his eyes fluttered open to a familiar white ceiling.

"Where is this…?"

"Oi! Fenghuo! You finally woke up, you idiot! You seriously passed out from training too hard—don't you know how to take care of yourself?" A panicked voice exploded beside him. It was Uchiha Obito, loud as ever, slightly out of breath. "You even messed up my confession to Rin! I finally worked up the nerve—and you collapsed right in front of her!"

Fenghuo blinked, slowly recalling the events before he lost consciousness.

As for that confession… Heh. If it wasn't for me, you might be nursing a "you're a good friend" rejection right about now, bawling in some dark alley.

He smirked. "Really? No need to thank me. I was just doing my duty."

"Who's thanking you, you bastard?!" Obito roared, lunging like a cornered cat.

"Huh? Weren't you?" Fenghuo feigned innocence with wide eyes. Not that he needed to act—he was only six. He was already plenty innocent.

Obito trembled with frustration, even making the goggles on his forehead shake with rage.

Just then, the sliding door opened with a soft click, and a young woman in a white coat walked in.

"Fenghuo-kun? You're awake. That's good." She had soft features, long blond hair tied neatly behind her, and wore small, round glasses perched on her nose. Her tone was gentle, kind.

"Ah—hello, doctor!" Obito sprang up and asked eagerly, "Is Fenghuo alright now?"

"He just overexerted himself. His chakra and physical reserves were depleted, and his nutritional intake couldn't keep up. Make sure he eats well—especially meat, to recover his strength." She smiled with a reassuring nod.

"Meat…?" Obito froze, visibly stiffening. Both their families weren't exactly starving, but meat wasn't something they had every day. A few scraps per meal wouldn't cut it with training this intense.

The doctor noticed the change in his expression. "If money's the issue, I can lend you some."

"Really?! Thank you so much!!" Obito nearly jumped out of his shoes.

Lying on the bed, Fenghuo frowned slightly. "Doctor, won't that be a burden on you? You're a medical professional, not a charity."

"Heh… I'm not just a doctor," she said with a small laugh. "I'm a shinobi too."

"A shinobi? A medical ninja?" Fenghuo narrowed his eyes at her. She looked oddly familiar—long blond hair, soft-spoken, those glasses...

'Wait… why do those glasses remind me of a certain pharmacist?'

Then it clicked.

Nonō Yakushi. She was the Konoha medical ninja who later became the head of an orphanage—and the one who took in young Kabuto, even giving him her surname.

No wonder she looked familiar.

Wait.

Fenghuo blinked again, a chill running down his spine.

Nonō Yakushi… wasn't she part of Root before the orphanage?

Danzo's agent?!

"Eh? Fenghuo, are you cold?" Obito leaned in, looking worried. "You're trembling."

"I-I'm fine. I'm just… excited! Yeah, really excited! I finally get to eat meat again! Woohoo…" Fenghuo forced a trembling laugh as tears welled up in his eyes.

Oh god. I'm only six. Has Danzo already set his sights on me?

Could Root have infiltrated the Uchiha clan and discovered I've awakened my Sharingan?

No, calm down. No one should know. I've barely used it—just that one time at night. The odds of anyone seeing it are practically zero...

"You boys are from the Uchiha clan, right?" Nonō said kindly. "Don't worry, I'll lend you the money. But you'll have to pay me back eventually."

"Of course! I'd never stiff someone on a debt!" Obito puffed out his chest. "After all, I'm going to be Hokage!"

Just then, someone walked past the ward outside.

Fair skin, sharp features, an impossible bustline, and golden hair that practically glowed even in peripheral vision—

Fenghuo didn't even need to look directly.

That was Tsunade, one of the Legendary Sannin.

Yup, Tsunade-hime… who would later become the Fifth Hokage.

So Obito, you're already aiming that high, huh? Dream big, buddy.

"You'll have to work hard," Nonō said, chuckling as she ruffled Obito's hair. She gave Fenghuo some last instructions and stepped out, chasing after Tsunade. "Tsunade-sama! Wait a moment…"

Their conversation faded down the hallway.

Fenghuo let out a quiet sigh of relief.

So Nonō's appearance here wasn't about me. She must be following Tsunade.

That damn Danzo… still, it's better to lay low. The further away from him, the better.

"Fenghuo, are you still hung up about before?" Obito slumped in the chair beside the bed. "That guy Kakashi really gets on my nerves, but… he's undeniably talented."

Fenghuo chuckled. "This has nothing to do with Kakashi. I just don't want to live a mediocre life anymore. I want to become strong. That's all."

"Well said!"

A young man's voice rang out, and a familiar figure stepped into the room.

"You are…?" Fenghuo squinted.

Wait—isn't that Uchiha Itachi and Sasuke's father?

Uchiha Fugaku!?

Except he's… younger. He must only be about twenty-five now. And Itachi probably hasn't even been born yet.

"I'm Fugaku Uchiha," the man said with a nod.

At this point in time, Fugaku wasn't clan head yet, but he was already a prominent officer in the Konoha Military Police Force, with his reputation steadily rising.

"Fugaku-sama, hello!" Both Fenghuo and Obito bowed respectfully.

The Uchiha clan was strict about protocol. Even if Fenghuo disliked the formality, there was no choice—he had no strength to back himself yet.

Fugaku smiled faintly. "I have high hopes for you. When the resolve to grow stronger takes root, the Sharingan will respond in kind. I'll be waiting for you—at the top."

With that, he turned and left the room in composed strides.

Fenghuo twitched at the corner of his eye. Ugh. I definitely should've stayed in bed today.

"Hey, Fenghuo, who was that guy? He looked really strong," Obito asked as he closed the door behind him.

"You heard him. Uchiha Fugaku. He's with the Konoha Police Force," Fenghuo said carefully. Even if someone was eavesdropping, that wasn't anything secret.

"Wow, the Police Force… I wonder when I'll get to join."

Fenghuo stretched slightly under the blanket. "Obito, I feel better now. Let's go home."

"No way!" Obito shot back instantly, crossing his arms. "That kind doctor lady said she'd lend us money, remember? We can't leave without getting it first!"

"…I… You're right. I have no comeback."

Would you like me to format this like a webtoon script next?

Here's a proofread and manga-consistent version of your scene, polished for grammar, tone, character consistency, and Naruto lore accuracy. I made sure names, titles, and relationships align with canon, especially regarding Nonō Yakushi, Obito, Tsunade, and Fugaku:
