Mia was a good designer though some of her designs were amateur. Her mom was the renowned jewelry designer Star, she was also the founder of SJ, after her mom 's accident which sent her into a coma for five years now, Mr Brook Anderson, her father has been managing the company making it a subsidiary of the Anderson group.
Mia never understand why her mother choosed to have an affair with Brook Anderson even when she knew he was married,she was doing well in her career and didn't seem to be lacking money or did she do it for love? Mia has always wondered. Helen was three years older than her and that was evidence of Brook Anderson's cheating and her mother's meddling into someone's family. Her step mother Beatrice has been a thorn on her flesh for the past five years since her mother fell into a coma. To outsiders, she was the glorious second miss of the Anderson family but only she knew that she was nothing but a mistress's daughter. Her father treated her fairly well but sometimes he is controlled by his wife and chooses to turn a blind eye to all their plots against her. Her step sister also detests her and wouldn't miss any opportunity to make things difficult for her, over the years, she has learned to survive and be strong for herself, believing that one day, her mother would wake up and show her the love that she has lacked for years.
Mia stood at the entrance of the company waiting for a taxi when a cool may beach pulled up in front of her.
Lorenzo had finished work earlier and decided to wait outside Mia's company and after sometime he saw her figure coming out seeming to be waiting for a taxi, he drove to her and whined down his side glass. Miss do you want a ride, he said with his magnetic voice. Mia was surprised at the question, when did people start using such high end car as taxis and such a handsome man was a taxi driver, it didn't add up, she decided not to enter the car, who knows, he might be a serial killer or kidnapper disguised as a taxi driver, she remembered a movie she watched where kipnappers disguised as taxi drivers, abducting and killing young girls.
No thanks, I don't want a ride, she rejected.
Lorenzo was surprised at her rejection, was he not good looking enough or was his car not luxurious enough? He didn't know that it was his car and good look that prompted the refusal.
It will really be difficult to get a taxi around here and you seem to be in a hurry, Lorenzo said trying to convince her.
Mia thought about it and it was indeed difficult to get a taxi around her company, she finally got into the car texting her best friend of the development and putting 911 on her speed dial in case of any issue. Take me to Vista Valley.
Vista Valley is a nice scenic place where artist and designers go sometimes to get inspiration for their work,nestled among rolling hills and towering trees, this picturesque valley is a treasure trove of natural beauty. It's no wonder that artists flock to Vista Valley, for its serene and majestic beauty to find inspiration to create their own masterpiece and Mia wanted to try it out and see if she can get inspirations too.
When Isabella received Mia's text, she gave her a call. Mia's phone rang disrupting the silence in the car, she took the call seeing it was her best friend.
How are you girl? Where are you now? Are you safe? Isabella asked all at once.
Calm down Isa,am okay I only texted you incase of an emergency, am not in danger and am heading to Vista Valley, I need some inspiration for my new design, Mia explained in a low tone.
What about the strange taxi driver?Isabella asked.
He seems to be a real taxi driver, Mia answered in a whisper, I will see you later. Bye, she said ending the call.
Lorenzo who was driving heard all her conversation with her friend even the last part which she said in a whisper, he couldn't help but smile, what a silly little girl.
They got to Vista Valley and realized that an accident happened there and it was currently
closed down. Oh no, why today, I don't know another place with a great scenery, Mia exclaimed loudly.
Miss, if you don't mind I can take you to a place I know of, it's far better than this place, Lorenzo suggested.
Really? Mia asked still suspicious of this strange taxi driver. They had gotten done earlier to see the accident scene and Mia saw that he was wearing a three piece suit which looked expensive showing of his muscular shoulder, his face was chiseled, with a strong jawline and piercing brown eyes that crinkled at the corners, hinting at a warm smile, he was indeed too handsome to be a taxi driver, he should have gone to the entertainment industry, with that face of his, he sure would make a fortune and name for himself, Mia thought to herself looking at Lorenzo.
Lorenzo saw her staring at him without accepting or declining his offer, what do you say Miss? He asked again.
Alright take me there and it did better be worth my time.
You won't regret it Miss, Lorenzo said opening the co-driver door for Mia.
Mia didn't think much of it and entered the car, Lorenzo smiled went round and entered into the driver sit.
