Chapter 9 - Koroko Island (Ii)

Sensing this, Drakon responded quickly. "A pirate? No. I'm Dray, a bounty hunter. These guys are some people I rescued from pirates on my way here."

Ella's expression transformed, her eyes narrowing as she took a step closer to Drakon. "A bounty hunter, huh? That's interesting. And what kind of bounties are you hunting?" Drakon maintained his composed demeanor, his grin unwavering. "Just the usual scum that plagues the seas. Pirates, smugglers, that sort of thing."

Léon's eyes darted between Drakon and his sister, a hint of concern etched on his face. "Ella, maybe we should—" But Ella's gaze remained fixed on Drakon, her voice taking on a sharp edge. "I don't believe you. You're not just any bounty hunter. You're... You're him, aren't you?"

Drakon's smile faltered for a moment, and he exchanged a glance with Ann, who seemed equally perplexed. "Who do you think I am?" Drakon asked, his tone cautious.

Ella's eyes blazed with a mix of anger and determination. "You're the pirate with the highest bounty in the East Blue. Drakon, the one they call Sea blade"

The air seemed to thicken with tension as Ella's words hung in the air, and Drakon's expression turned stoic, his eyes locked onto hers. Drakon's eyes locked onto Ella's, and he nodded slowly, a hint of a smile playing on his lips. "Yes, I'm the one they call Sea Bla-." But before he could say another word, Ella charged at him, her fist flying towards his face. However, her punch passed right through Drakon's head, as if he was made of water. Ella stumbled forward, her momentum carrying her past Drakon. She quickly regained her balance, her eyes blazing with anger and determination.

Drakon watched her with an amused expression, his eyes gleaming with interest. "You can't hurt me, so I suggest you stop." Ella's face twisted in frustration, her fists clenched at her sides. She knew that she couldn't harm Drakon without Haki, and she didn't possess the skills to use it.

Léon stepped forward, placing a hand on his sister's shoulder. "Ella, stop. You're not going to hurt him without Haki." Ella's gaze remained fixed on Drakon, her eyes burning with a fierce determination. "I'll find a way to take you down, Sea Blade Drakon. Mark my words." Drakon's expression changed from amusement to confusion, his eyes narrowing as he studied Ella's face. "Get me? What did I ever do to you?" he asked, his voice laced with genuine curiosity.

Ella's gaze didn't waver, her anger and determination still simmering just below the surface. Léon, however, stepped forward, his eyes filled with a deep sadness.

"It's not about what you did to her, exactly," Léon said, his voice softening. "Our parents were killed by a pirate a couple of years back. His name was Shupeal, and he was notorious for his brutality." Drakon's eyes widened slightly, his expression changing from confusion to surprise. "Shupeal? ." Drakon's face remained neutral, but his eyes seemed to cloud over, as if memories were stirring beneath the surface. "I see," he said slowly. "And you think I'm responsible for your parents' death?"

Ella's voice was low and venomous. "You're a pirate, aren't you? You're all the same. You're all monsters." The air was thick with tension as the two sides faced off, the past and present colliding in a complex web of emotions and motivations.

Sigh" Look, I hate to break it down to you. But, you see that girl over there?(he points at Ann) her whole village was destroyed by Shupeal a couple of days back and he took her hostage. And the same bustard tried kill me a couple hours ago. I might not have done it in the name of avenging your patents but I can grantee you that we took care of him and his crew before we got here."

Ella's expression faltered, her anger and venomous tone momentarily replaced by shock and surprise. She looked at Ann, and then back at Drakon, her eyes searching for any sign of deception. Léon's face, however, remained skeptical. "How do we know you're telling the truth?" he asked, his voice firm but cautious Drakon's grin returned, and he shrugged. "You don't have to believe me. But if you want proof, I'm sure Ann here can tell you about what happened to her village. And if you're feeling brave, we can go check out the waters around the island. I'm sure we'll find some familiar faces floating around."

Ella's gaze lingered on Drakon, her expression a mix of emotions. For a moment, it seemed like she was going to attack him again, but then she seemed to deflate, her shoulders sagging in defeat. "What... what happened to Shupeal?" she asked, her voice barely above a whisper. Drakon's smile grew wider. "Let's just say he's not going to be hurting anyone else anytime soon. And neither will his crew." The tension in the air seemed to dissipate slightly, replaced by a sense of curiosity and cautious hope. Ella's eyes locked onto Drakon's, and for a moment, it seemed like she was seeing him in a different light. "You said you're looking for a ship? I'll take you to the best one. Follow me." She says with a smile of her face.

As the now group of five make thier way into the village Lèon looks at Drakon with a curious face for a while. Drakon who thought he could ignore this finally had enough and stares back at Léon. "If you got a problem, just say something. Don't just look at me like that." He says irritated

"Oh. Sorry I didn't notice I was making you uncomfortable. My apologies, and no. I don't have a problem with you, it's just that I'm shocked. That's all." He responded

"About what?" Asked Ann

"Well, Drakon doesn't seem older than me and Ella, but he defated Shupeal. I know he has a reputation of being the strongest bounty hunter in the east blue since Roronoa Zoro. But it's still surprising to hear."

"I know right? What makes it even more surprising is that the Stongest bounty hunter turned into a pirate, just like zoro." Ella added.

Drakon's expression turned slightly defensive, his eyes narrowing slightly as he listened to the twins' conversation. "Hey, I didn't exactly 'turn' into a pirate," he said, his tone a bit dry. "Let's just say circumstances changed, and I had to adapt." Léon nodded thoughtfully, his curious expression still plastered on his face. "I see. Well, it's still impressive that you took down Shupeal. He's notorious after all." Ella chimed in, her eyes sparkling with interest. "Yeah, and it's not every day you meet someone with a reputation like yours, Drakon."

Drakon's gaze flicked between the twins, his expression unreadable. "Let's just focus on finding that ship, shall we? We can swap stories later."

The group fell into a comfortable silence, their footsteps quiet on the island's sandy terrain as they continued their search for the legendary vessel. AS they walked, Léon turned to Drakon and asked, "So, what type of ship do you have in mind?" Drakon's eyes lit up with interest. "Actually, I don't have any in mind. I believe that the ship should pick its captain. Not the other way around." Said Drakon.
