CHAPTER 13 — "Welcome to the Sniper Zone"

NARRATION:

In Inwood, the game don't start in the paint.

It starts thirty feet out.

This is the Sniper Zone.

Rockaway team arrives at Fenway Coliseum—Inwood's sleek, high-tech home court.

Digital stat screens light up with player shooting percentages.

TEDDY (wide-eyed):

"They track everything here…"

TABAR (focused):

"Then let's give them something to track."

PAGE 3

Starting lineups announced.

Inwood starters stretch deep beyond the arc—effortless range.

Their PG drains three straight warmup shots from logo distance.

COMMENTATOR:

"They shoot like layups. And if you're slow on the closeout…

Game over."

PAGE 4–5

Tip-off. Inwood opens with a barrage:

PG hits a pull-up 3 in Soulo's face.

SG uses a double screen to drill a corner triple.

SF pump-fakes Leo, steps back from 28 feet—money.

SCORE: Inwood 18 – Rockaway 9

COACH (timeout):

"Respect their range. But don't chase ghosts—stay disciplined."

Adjustments:

Soulo shades off-ball screens early.

Mitch and Magic start switching quicker on pick plays.

Tabar begins calling out rotations before they happen.

TABAR (pointing):

"Sticks—top left! Now!"

Sticks closes out and forces a rare miss.

Bench steps in:

Sticks hits two back-to-back threes off curls.

Eli gambles a steal and fast breaks into a tough and-1 lay.

Teddy stretches the D with a smooth top-of-the-key jumper.

COMMENTATOR:

"Rockaway's bench is bending the zone… and breaking it."

Momentum shift:

Leo posterizes a late-rotating sniper on a fastbreak.

Quan dominates the boards, firing outlet passes to Tabar.

Picaso gets hot—hits three triples in a 2-minute span.

PICASO (grinning):

"Y'all ain't the only ones with range."

PAGE 11–12

Final minutes:

Tied at 68–68.

Inwood starts running staggered off-ball sets to free their shooters.

Soulo and Leo switch and communicate on every screen.

Mitch grabs a key offensive board, kicks it to Sticks…

STICKS (pull-up three):

"Catch ya from downtown."

Splash.

Inwood tries a last-second play from the logo.

Their star PG shoots from 35 feet—

—BLOCKED by Eli, who leapt from nowhere.

BUZZER.

ROCKAWAY WINS: 71–68

Locker room.

Everyone's gassed.

COACH (nodding):

"They hit threes.

You hit back.

This team? Built for every kind of war."

Where style is survival.

And flash is law.

NARRATION:

You saw bullets.
