The Bat King of Mars stood frozen in shock, his eyes wide as he witnessed his proud army slaughtered effortlessly.
The deadly white gas — the mushroom toxin — was now exposing their greatest weakness.
The king slowly sank to his throne, his shoulders slumping heavily.
He murmured, almost inaudibly,
> "It's over..."
Then, with a hoarse voice, he commanded:
> "Quick... summon the Generals!"
Moments later, three Bat Generals appeared before him.
They were massive compared to the regular Martian Bat soldiers, clad in thick, diamond-like armor that shimmered with a cold brilliance.
Two were male, towering and heavily built, while the third was female — smaller in frame but still boasting muscles thicker than any ordinary soldier.
> "Gather every soldier from every Bat region!" the King ordered grimly.
> "What? Are we launching a full-scale war?" one General asked, stunned.
The King growled, Show a video of the battle with the mushroom gas.
> "Look at what the humans have done."
"They have discovered our weakness. We now have only two choices."
He paused, letting the gravity of his words sink in.
> "First, destroy the humans and erase this weakness forever."
"Or second... hide and run away whenever we encounter them."
> "My King! We shall destroy them! We will eliminate this dangerous discovery before it spreads!"
the three Generals declared fiercely, clenching their fists.
Without another word, they turned sharply and began dispatching hundreds of Bat messengers, racing to every corner of their territory to mobilize the remaining forces.
The King knew... if this next assault failed,
the reign of the Martian Bats would end.
Humanity had found the chink in their armor, and the darkness looming over Mars could no longer be ignored.
If they couldn't eliminate the source —
Earth —
their extinction would be inevitable.
> "Summon my daughter," the King said to a nearby servant.
The servant bowed low and quickly sprinted out of the chamber.
Minutes later, a beautiful Bat Princess entered the throne room.
Her crimson eyes glistened as she approached and knelt respectfully.
> "Father, you called for me?"
The King gazed at her lovingly but with deep sorrow.
> "My child... I will not lie to you. Our race is in grave danger."
> "What...?" she gasped.
The King showed Show a video of the battle with the mushroom gas.
> "Look, at what the humans have created."
The Princess grimaced.
> "Their methods... so vile and disgusting."
The King's voice hardened.
> "That is war, my dear. In war, survival outweighs honor."
"And now, I must ask something of you."
She knelt closer, sensing the desperation in her father's voice.
> "You must go to our homeworld — Batalian."
"Take with you the children, the women, and all those who cannot fight."
The Princess's eyes widened in horror.
> "What about you, Father? What are you planning to do?"
> "I will destroy Earth."
"It is the only way to save our people."
> "But, Father—!"
He raised a hand, silencing her gently.
> "My child... I am sorry. As the chosen King representing Mars, I have no other choice."
"The survival of our race depends on this."
> "Father, isn't there another way?"
"Come with me! Escape!"
The King's face softened.
> "Return...?" he whispered.
"I cannot. My duty is here. The fate of our people rests on my shoulders."
After returning from the battlefield, Angel felt a surging power coursing through her body.
Her physique had become visibly more toned and athletic.
Her skin now glowed, smooth and pale, exuding an almost ethereal allure.
Her wings, too, had grown larger and broader, pulsing with a stormy energy that rumbled within her veins.
The sudden level-up left Angel momentarily stunned.
During her training, she unintentionally bent an iron training bar with her bare hands — an act she hadn't even realized until it was too late.
Curious about her new strength, Angel decided to test a new ability: the Wind Sword.
She focused her energy.
Two swords formed from concentrated wind, invisible to the naked eye yet as sharp as death itself.
She could feel them, their edges slicing the very air.
Though still unstable, Angel managed to wield two Wind Swords at once.
When she swung them, steel beams were sliced cleanly, like a hot knife through paper.
It was far more difficult than controlling her glowing firefly lights.
But the lethal potential of these wind blades thrilled her.
However, what excited Angel the most was something else —
the summoning of a second spirit companion.
She deactivated her khodam form, returning to her true self — Rai.
After being synchronized at 15% with Angel for so long,
Rai immediately felt strange in his weaker, original body.
He was only Level 10 — fragile compared to Angel's new strength.
Unless he summoned another khodam, all future experience points would continue flowing into Angel.
It was a critical decision.
If he focused on a single khodam, like Angel, it would accelerate the spirit's growth —
but his true self would remain stagnant, unable to level up anymore.
Determined, Rai sought out Nadine to assist him in the second khodam summoning ceremony.
While the ritual could be done alone, it was far safer and more stable with help.
Just like the first summoning, Rai needed to sit at the center of an ancient summoning circle,
drawn carefully in the shape of a star enclosed by a circle.
The air grew heavy.
He closed his eyes, feeling the symbols beneath him hum with dormant power.
Taking a deep breath, he began to chant the ancient mantra in the forgotten Kono tongue.
As the final chant echoed through the air, a pillar of blue lightning erupted upward, bathing the room in blinding radiance.
From within the pillar, a beautiful female figure slowly took form.
Her perfect body was clad in transparent armor woven with living currents of electricity, pulsing softly with contained power.
Wings of plasma extended wide from her back, flickering and crackling as if breathing with each heartbeat of the storm.
Her silver hair floated weightlessly, unaffected by gravity.
