Chapter 2 - Dark Age II

It was a morning when some farmers were about to go to their fields, doing their usual routine. while one of the farmers was preparing the fields, a man appeared from behind the forest. A peg nation. He limped towards them.

His horn was broken, both hands were covered in blood, his face was pale, his breathing was labored. I don't know what had happened to him to make him look so frightened.

The farmers rushed to him, grabbed his body which was about to fall, then the farmers took the man to the house of a Physician for treatment. The Physician immediately treated him, treating the open wounds, compressing the bruises. Two days passed and the peg nation finally recovered, although the wounds had not dried completely.

"May I say something, son?" The healer patted the peg nation gently on the shoulder, calming him down.

The peg nation looked at the healer, fear still evident in his eyes. The peg nation remained silent, not answering, playing with his bandaged fingers.

"Tell me, child," said the healer. "What happened to you, what made you like this?"

The peg nation shook its head, its eyes trembling with fear. His mouth opened for a moment, but no sound came out. It was as if an invisible force stopped every word he wanted to say.

"I... I can't..." he muttered at last. "They'll know... they'll kill me."

The healer took her hand, pressing it gently. "You are safe here. No one can hurt you. Trust me."

The peg nation stared at the healer, his lips trembling. It took several minutes before he finally spoke, his voice hoarse, as if releasing the heavy burden it had been holding back. "Something terrible... will happen. Not long from now. All of this is caused by someone."

A frown appeared on the healer's forehead. "Someone? Who?"

The Bagsa Pegak paused, clearly hesitant to continue. His eyes stared blankly at the floor, as if trying to gather courage. Finally, in a voice that was almost a whisper, he said, "That person is from the Pillar Nation. A leader. He was known to be kind by everyone..." She swallowed.

"Queen Diore IX."

Everyone in the room was shocked. The peasants who were there looked at each other with expressions of disbelief. The healer straightened up, trying to digest the words the peg nation had just said.

"Queen Diore IX?" he repeated, making sure he had not heard wrong.

The peg nation nodded weakly. "She will cause a great disaster... I saw it..."

"So, what happened to you?" asked the healer, his tone soft, though his mind was in turmoil.

The peg nation took a deep breath, trying to calm itself. "I went to the forest near the mountain at night. There are herbs that only grow when the moon is shining. I needed it to make medicine for my sick family. But when morning came, the plant... withered. Not like ordinary withering. The ground around it turned black, like it had been burned by something."

She closed her eyes, her body trembling again. "Then I felt it. That shadow... that energy. It was as if the whole place was whispering, telling me to leave... or die."
