The moon hung high in the night sky, casting a silvery glow over the village as Korran prepared for the evening. He had spent the day ensuring Yue Lixue was comfortable, checking in on her often and making sure she was taking the herbal remedy that Sable had prepared. He knew that she had an aversion to meat, so he had spoken to the shaman about her dietary needs. Sable had agreed to help find alternatives but emphasized that Lixue needed to eat to regain her strength.
Now, armed with a newfound determination, Korran decided to take matters into his own hands. He had gathered the ingredients for the shamen - Dreamroot and Moonflower concoction — a blend that was supposed to stimulate her appetite and bring a sense of calm. However, unbeknownst to him, Sable had added an unexpected twist: a wring ingredient that acted as a strong aphrodisiac and hallucinogenic element, the correct plant would have worked and was meant to enhance the effects of the original remedy
As the evening approached, Korran felt a swirl of excitement and anxiety. LiXue rolled her eyes, a small smile tugging at her lips. "I'm not a child, Korran. I can take care of myself."
"Sure, but you haven't exactly been eating enough lately, have you?" he countered, trying to sound stern while suppressing a grin. "Come on, just drink it. I promise it'll help."
"Fine," she sighed dramatically, but her eyes sparkled with amusement. As she took a seat, Korran poured the concoction into a small bowl, the liquid shimmering invitingly in the light. He held it out to her, watching as she hesitated.
"Just a little taste," he urged, his voice softening. "I'll even take some with you." He dipped his finger into the mixture and brought it to his lips, pretending to savour the flavour. "See? It's delicious!"
Yue Lixue finally relented, taking the bowl from him. She brought it to her lips and drank, the sweet taste flooding her senses. Korran couldn't help but smile at her expression of surprise. "Told you!"
As the evening wore on, they settled into a comfortable rhythm. Korran made sure Yue Lixue was eating enough fruits and vegetables to complement the drink, occasionally teasing her about her reluctance to try new things. "You have to keep your strength up if you want to keep up with me," he said with a playful wink.
They talked and laughed, the atmosphere light and filled with warmth. As the effects of the Dreamroot and Moonflower began to kick in, Savannah felt a wave of relaxation wash over her, and her inhibitions started to fade. She leaned back, observing Korran with newfound clarity. Her breath caught in her throat as she felt the weight of his words.
