Chapter 7 - Chapter 2127: Forgotten Thrones

Chapter 2127: Forgotten Thrones

The sky was still broken.

Shards of shattered light drifted across the horizon like silent snow. The ground beneath Yun Che and Jasmine steamed with residual force, scars of the battle carved into the bones of the world.

Yun Che sat, breathing ragged, his muscles screaming for rest. But his eyes never left her.

> "What do you mean… 'the others'?"

Jasmine didn't speak immediately. She looked at the sky—the fractured edges where space had yet to mend.

> "That creature," she finally said, "is not alone."

She knelt beside him, drawing a mark in the dirt: a spiral, ancient and haunting.

> "Long before the Ancestral God split, before life and law, before good and evil… there were Five Silent Thrones."

Yun Che stared. "…Thrones?"

Jasmine nodded.

> "Five beings. Born from the parts of existence the Ancestral Will couldn't tame. Concepts that refused to bow: Rejection. Emptiness. Cessation. Dissonance. Forgetting."

She tapped the mark.

> "The one we just fought… was Rejection."

Yun Che's fists clenched. "You mean there are four more?"

> "Worse," she said, voice low. "They're connected. When one awakens, it acts as a beacon. A crack in the seal. A way back."

He stood slowly, despite the pain.

> "Why didn't the Ancestral God destroy them?"

Jasmine's eyes glowed again—distant, sorrowful.

> "Because she couldn't."

She looked at him now. Truly looked. Not like a warrior. Not like a star god. But like someone carrying a truth that hurt every day she lived.

> "They aren't alive in the way we understand. They don't live, so they can't die. They exist to unmake what we are."

Yun Che felt something stir in his chest—not fear, but responsibility.

> "And I woke one of them."

She nodded.

> "Because you exist outside the order of fate. You're a contradiction. And contradictions… call to one another."

A silence passed.

Finally, he spoke.

> "Then we kill them."

Jasmine blinked.

He stepped closer, his voice calm, but sharp.

> "We find them, we fight them—together."

Jasmine didn't smile. But her eyes softened.

> "Always reckless…"

> "Always right."

She turned away slightly, her hair catching wind that didn't exist.

> "We'll need help. Stronger than gods. People who can break fate, not just bend it."

> "And we start with the last person I ever thought I'd say this about…"

She glanced over her shoulder.

> "We find Caizhi."

Yun Che's heart skipped.

> "She's alive?"

Jasmine closed her eyes.

> "She's not just alive. She's remembering things even I don't understand."
