Then Mihir got so engrossed in the case that he did not care about anything outside.
Then someone came to his door and knocked loudly. Mihir came out and saw there was a stranger boy who seemed to know Mihir.
Mihir asked him, "Who are you, brother? I don't know you."
The stranger boy replied, "My name is Sunny. I live in the house behind yours, and I have been observing you for quite some time. You are always alone in this house and do not seem to have any relationship with anyone. You do not go out of the house and when you are not at home, no one knows where you are."
Mihir said, "Yes, it's something like that. Tell me, what is the matter? What do you want?"
Sunny said, "No, it's nothing serious. I just thought I would come and meet you, brother. Everyone said that today there is a party in our group. I am alone, so I thought I should take you along."
Mihir replied, "This is your group and we both have just met. We don't know each other, and you are taking me to your group?"
Sunny smilingly replied, "Brother, I just met you. We'll get to know each other later. For now, get ready quickly, we are getting late. It is 4:00 in the evening and we have to reach there by 6:00."
Mihir thought for a while and then got ready. His friendship with Sunny began from there. Mihir asked, "Where do we have to go? Tell me the address."
Sunny said, "Here is the address. There is a park where the party is happening tonight, and it's at least 20 kilometers away from here."
It had been half an hour since Mihir and Sunny had left, and both of them reached the address safely. Mihir saw that at least 20 people were already there, and a grand party was about to begin.
Everyone looked at Sunny and hugged him. Then everyone looked at Mihir and asked Sunny, "Who is he?"
Sunny said, "He lives in the house in front of mine. He has no one with him. He is always alone. I have been noticing him for a long time, and since he doesn't come out much, I brought him here so that he could mingle with us."
Mihir also liked the gesture. Sunny introduced Mihir to everyone one by one. Everyone in the group who saw Mihir praised him because Mihir was a 20-year-old boy with charming green eyes and light black hair. Everyone started liking him more.
Then the party began. There was everything—from DJ to food to dancing. Everyone started dancing and singing, while some started eating. But Mihir sat on a chair, lost in thoughts about the case, staring at his phone.
Sunny came twice to call him and said, "Come, brother, let's dance. Why are you sitting like this?"
Mihir said, "No, brother. I don't know how to dance, and I don't like dancing either." Then Sunny went back.
Many people were surprised to see Mihir not enjoying the party. They asked Sunny, "Why is he sitting like that? Is there any problem with him?"
Sunny replied, "I don't know. Maybe he doesn't feel like it."
Then a girl in the group noticed Mihir carefully. She was also a 20-year-old young girl. She looked simple and different. She was the kind of girl who stood out from the rest.
She came to Sunny. Sunny was shocked that this girl was coming toward him.
The girl asked, "The boy sitting there—is he with you?"
Sunny replied, "Yes, he is my friend. We met recently. Tell me, what do you want?"
The girl said, "Nothing. I just asked casually. By the way, my name is Heer."
Sunny said, "Okay," and then moved away.
Heer walked toward Mihir and said, "Hey, listen."
Mihir looked up and said, "Yes? Tell me."
Heer asked, "Why are you sitting here like this?"
Mihir replied, "Why? Do you have any problem with it?"
Heer said, "No, it's just that everyone is partying, dancing, doing what they like—but you're sitting here with your phone."
Mihir said, "Look, I'm not interested in all this. Please leave me alone, or I'll leave this party."
Then Mihir got up from the chair and called out loudly, "Sunny! Come here!"
Sunny came to Mihir and saw that Heer was standing nearby. He asked, "What happened, brother? Why did you call me like that?"
Mihir asked, "Friend, how long will this party last?"
Sunny asked, "What happened, brother? Did this girl say something wrong to you that you're asking this?"
Mihir said, "No, no. It's nothing like that. I'm just asking because I have to go home and I'm getting late."
Sunny turned to Heer and said, "Excuse me, please don't disturb him."
Heer replied angrily, "I wasn't disturbing him. I was just asking why he's sitting like this. And if you have any problem, I can talk to anyone."
Sunny replied, "There are many boys in this group. Why are you only talking to my friend?"
Then she turned her face away and walked off.
Sunny teased Mihir and said, "What's the matter, brother? You impressed the girl on the very first day!"
Mihir replied, "Brother, if you say all this, I'll leave the party right now. End of discussion."
Sunny said, "Hey brother, I was just joking. I made a mistake, I won't do it again."
Then Sunny said again, "Brother, did you eat anything? It's not my fault if you didn't. Come, I'll take you to eat something."
Mihir said, "What are you saying? I'll cook and eat at home."
Sunny said, "No way! If you've come with me, you won't go home without eating something."
Then Sunny took Mihir along to a nearby place where food and drinks were available.
