Chapter 8 - Episode-8

Before the universe was created, God created angels. One of these angels was exceptionally beautiful. He possessed immense knowledge and wisdom. His wings shimmered like gold. He stood at the front of the divine choirs. In short, he was God's most cherished creation.

But this angel began to question.

"I am beautiful. No other angel surpasses me..."

He questioned why he served God. He no longer wanted to serve. The power granted to him had blinded him.

This angel approached God's throne and threatened to dethrone Him, claiming he was more worthy. God merely laughed. At that moment, a massive, terrifying light descended from the heavens. It was the archangel Michael.

Michael and this ill-fated angel fought a desperate battle. The war lasted billions of years. In the end, it wasn't Michael, but God who intervened. With divine power, He stripped the angel of his duties and cast him down to Earth.

He became a fallen angel. No—he became the rebellious and sinful, the father of all evil...

LUCIFER.

Kuragari glanced at the clock.

"It's getting late... When will they arrive?"

she muttered to herself. She was bored. Guarding this bunker was torture. Now she finally understood why the Colonel was always so irritable. Dealing with this many people really is hell, she thought.

"I wonder what they're doing?"

---

"Where's Mom?"

asked Kaito.

"I don't know,"

I said. I really didn't.

"We came for nothing. She was part of your schizophrenic world too. Anyway, I just want to grab a few things from home. Dad, you should check too—because we won't be coming back."

"Alright, son."

"We've got 20 minutes, Dad."

I nodded and picked up my things from the house—memories of my daughter and wife. Even the photographs. For some reason, I loved my family now. Escaping that schizophrenic world made me realize their worth. Made me realize the value of life. If my son hadn't found me when I tried to end it all, it would've been over.

Then I noticed my son looking at something. He was holding his nose.

"Dad, it reeks like a corpse in here."

"I just picked up the smell. Who could've died here? I haven't seen anyone dead in this place for six months."

"Really? I don't know, but I've got a really bad feeling, Dad."

I understood what he meant. The smell came from the fridge.

At the same time, Shimu asked a disciple a question:

"Who do you think our father is?"

"U-Um, master, isn't it the devil?"

"WRONG!"

he shouted, then shot the disciple's head off. Looking at the corpse, he said:

"The devil is just the form sinful souls take when they're cast into the living world. Our father is an angel. More precisely, a fallen angel. A hero who defied the freak called God. Don't you dare compare our father Lucifer with some filthy soul."

The corpse lay still before him.

"Anyway," he continued,

"one of our father Lucifer's favorite traits is turning a possessed person into a cannibal. You won't even find that in the Bible."

---

Meanwhile, Kaito and Tsuki:

"Kaito, I think this is a bad idea..."

"Dad, what the hell were you doing for the past 6 months?"

He didn't listen to anything I said. Then he opened the fridge. The moment he did, his mouth dropped, his eyes froze. He was in shock. Out of curiosity, I looked inside too. Last I checked, there was only rice and meat.

Inside the fridge was Kiara's rotten head, brain matter scattered everywhere. His limbs had been partially eaten and left on a plate. Empty glasses were filled with blood...
