The Next Day.
Mei POV.
The next day, as the sun was peeking from the window, I opened my eyes. Put on one of the several copies of my outfit.
Which is basically a white button shirt under a purple Japanese school jack. Then there is a pair of hiking pants with a pair of combat boots.
Then I checked the date. June 2.
— At the start of next month, I will need to go to that school. I suppose I better go in advance to see where I need to go.
Following that I started packing. First was two pairs of my clothes and my sleepwear, since I was thinking of spending a day in Vale to explore the city. Cleaning supplies, Dust and sharpening stones for fighting and the maintenance of my weapon. After searching for my wallet and a couple of additional small canisters of Dust, I found two notebooks stores in the nightstand.
I opened the first and found a picture and multiple short descriptions on the first and second pages.
—– Timothy Rot. 34 years old. He worked as an airship pilot at the airport on the island of Patch.
Status: Alive.
—– Rukia Raiden. 47 years old. Workplace Unknown.
Status: Unknown.
— At first glance, I would say that the woman is my mother and the man my father. But it is clear that I live alone. So who are they?
After that I opened the second book and I found pictures and descriptions like the first, but for the Grimm.
The book was short, with only the Beowulf, Ursa, Boarbatusk and Nevermore described with pictures, tactics, weakness, power and more.
— Either the previous soul loved Grimm or she was trying to create an encyclopedia on them. Well, either way, this will be useful. Better take it with me.
With that my luggage was finished and I was ready for my small journey.

5 Hours Later.

I'm lost.
How did it happen? Well, I was following the path outside my house thinking it would take me to civilization, but then I heard the sound of a breach breaking and I decided to go in that direction. The next thing I know I am lost.
— I better find the road or a safe place to sleep before the night fall.
With that I started walking in a random direction.

8 Hours Later.

I am still lost. I even think that I am deeper in the forest than last time I stopped.
Now the sun was setting and there is no mountain in sight.
— Well, better find a tree with a sturdy branch to sleep on.
As I search for one, I find myself standing before a pack of Grimm, more precisely, 11 Beowulf with 1 that was more armored than the other.
— Look like I cannot run now.

3rd person POV.
To start, Mei drew the key of Castigation and held it in front of her.
Then four of the Beowulf charges. The first lunges at her. Mei sidestepped to his left and cut it at the neck, severing the head.
The second and third one also lunges but from both sides. Mei then jumped over them and became parallel to them in mid-air. Following that she spun and cut both of their heads.
After this move the fourth of the ones that charge lunches itself at her. The girl uses her previous momentum and repositions herself to have her back facing the Beowulf. She then rolls mid-air to be just above the Grimm, and she stabs it in the mouth, killing it.
After her landing she looked at the last seven. Suddenly two of them were at her side ready to strike her. With quick thinking, Mei bent backwards and nearly dogged the claws of the Beowulf. As they passed her, she used her arms to launch herself into the air. Now above the duo, Mei quickly cut their heads.
Now only four wolf Grimm and their leaders are left.
Surprisingly, none of them changed her. They just watch from a distance, studying her. Afterwards the four started surrounding her, then they charged. As Mei prepares to jump, the leader appears next to her ready to strike. By sheer instinct, Mei was able to nearly block the strike, sending her flying for a couple of meters. Only stopping by her planting the key in the earth.
Standing up three of the black beasts were already lunging at her. Mei then crouches below their jump height and cuts off two of their heads and nearly misses the third.
As the one she misses land, Mei looks back to see the other two slowly approaching. Then the two minor Beowulf started encircling her who'll the leader just stand where he was positioned.
As anticipated by the swordswomen, the two then circle around her lunges at her at the same time. The fencer then rolls forward, making the two collide. She then profited off their collision to quickly cut both of their heads.
Instantaneously, the sword fights raised her sword to her side and was barely able to block a powerful strike from the Alpha. Like the previous one, Mei was sent flying but not as far. She then landed on her feet with the Beowulf in sight.
The two enemies slowly walk in a circle, judging the strength of the other. At that moment both of them charge and collide with the other. When a strike comes from one, the other blocks or parry it and yet the fencer is able to slowly injure the black beast.
Then the two distance themselves from the other. Both of them are preparing for a final strike that will and their dual. The beast put itself on all four ready to lunge at his enemy. The swordswomen, decided to put her blade above her head and the tip in her hand to prepare for a powerful thrust.
Seconds later both were in the face of the other. But then Mei's body was able to lower enough to pass under the Alpha attack and she then trusted her sword in its neck. Following that she cut open the right side of the neck to have her sword free and then she finished the beast by fully cutting his head.
