ENERIONS
An Enerion is a human with inhuman capabilities. Due to the exposure to Ethos (Universal Energy), they possess a specialized biological system that allows them to absorb, store, and utilize Ethos energy at a cellular level. Enerions are usually known for their enhanced physicality and vitality.
[Cellular Absorption]
(Mechanism)
1. Energy Vacuoles:
Enerions' cells are equipped with specialized vacuoles designed to store and stabilize Ethos energy. These vacuoles act as reservoirs, providing Ethos for various physical and Ethos-powered activities.
2. Ethos-Mitochondria Hybrid:
The mitochondria in Enerions' cells are adapted to process both biological energy (ATP) and Ethos energy. This dual-function mechanism ensures the body's seamless separate usage between both energy sources, using ATP for regular body functions and Ethos for abilities and energy usage.
3. Dynamic Absorption:
Enerions absorb Ethos from their surroundings naturally but can rapidly replenish their stores by absorbing energy crystals harvested from defeated beasts. These crystals serve as condensed sources of Ethos, enhancing an Enerion's strength and capacity.
---
[Usage]
Ethos stored in the cellular vacuoles is released as needed, flowing through the bloodstream to specific body parts or systems to boost strength, agility, or activate abilities. The release is instinctively controlled, allowing Enerions to maximize efficiency in combat or other high-stress situations.
---
[Training and Growth]
1. Combat Training:
Rigorous training helps Enerions refine their ability to manage and direct Ethos effectively.
2. Energy Crystals:
Absorbing energy crystals strengthens the vacuoles over time, increasing storage capacity and improving Ethos efficiency.
---
[Drawbacks]
ATP Substitution:
When Ethos reserves are fully depleted, the body begins to use ATP (biological energy) as a substitute. This leads to extreme fatigue, muscle weakness, reduced physical performance, and cell death, as the body struggles to maintain its status with a depleted amount of ATP.
---
Enerions can reinforce their physicality with Ethos and can also utilize Ethos to activate their abilities.
---
Abilities of Enerions fall under a list of categories:
CREATION: The ability to craft anything with pure energy.
DESTRUCTION: The ability to cause unbridled destructive assaults.
CONTROL: The ability to manipulate objects mentally or physically.
ELEMENTAL: The ability to control one or more elements.
ALTER: The ability to alter the composition of a target.
SUPPORT: Healing-type abilities.
WARP: Distortion of space, time, and matter.
VOID: A storage dimension.
Anomalies: These are abilities that don't fit into the existing categories. Example: Copy.
---
Enerions can utilize energy to increase physicality to a certain limit.
---
STATE SHIFT
Enerions usually obtain 3 abilities. Two from the normal categories, then this one. This is the third ability of every Enerion, making it hard to obtain even by the cream of the top. This is an ability that alters the physiology of the user, giving them biology possibly linked to animals, their gene, or their abilities. It grants enhanced physicality plus in-state talents. Other abilities can still be used during the state.
---
[Drawbacks]
Energy Amplification: (Reinforcement) cannot be used during the state.
To enter the state, the percentage shifted needs to be the weight the Enerion's body can handle. Entering a full-on shift that can't be handled could kill the user.
ATP Substitution: Energy requirement is high. If Ethos is depleted, ATP Substitution is engaged. A complete ATP Substitution may drain all existing ATP and lead to death.

BEASTS
Beasts are monsters that evolved from normal animals due to the intrusion of Ethos. They embody the raw essence of Ethos, using it for survival, combat, and extraordinary abilities.
Unlike Enerions, Beasts possess a unique organ alongside their brain, the Ethos Core, which specializes in storing and manipulating Ethos energy. This makes them formidable predators and a significant threat to humanity.
---
[Anatomy of Beasts]
(Mechanism)
1. Ethos Core:
A specialized crystalline organ located near the base of the brain serves as the primary storage and processing center for Ethos energy. This organ allows Beasts to:
Absorb Ethos from the environment or prey.
Channel Ethos into physical enhancements or devastating abilities.
Evolve by strengthening their Ethos Core through combat and consumption.
2. Augmented Nervous System:
The Ethos Core connects directly to an enhanced nervous system, enabling Beasts to distribute Ethos energy to their body at will. This results in:
Explosive Strength: Ethos supercharges muscle tissue for overwhelming power.
Enhanced Reflexes: Beasts can react with inhuman speed, making them deadly in battle.
Adaptive Abilities: Some Beasts develop unique Ethos-based powers following the same categories as Enerions, but to a lesser extent.
3. Consuming Humans:
Beasts with advanced Ethos Cores (Rank 4 and above) can strengthen their cores by consuming humans, absorbing their Ethos energy and biological essence. This predatory behavior often targets Enerions, whose enhanced Ethos capacity makes them a valuable resource.
---
[Ethos Usage in Beasts]
1. Instinctive Mastery:
Beasts rely on their primal instincts to manipulate Ethos, often unleashing devastating attacks or enhancing their natural abilities. Each Beast's Ethos abilities vary based on species and environment, creating a wide range of specialized threats.
2. Energy Absorption:
Beasts passively absorb Ethos from the atmosphere to replenish their cores. Consuming energy crystals or living beings allows Beasts to grow more powerful, with some developing unique traits or abilities as their cores evolve.
3. Overload State (Rank 7 Beasts Only):
Only Rank 7 Beasts, the most powerful and rare, can enter an Overload State:
Ethos floods their entire body, amplifying their strength, speed, and Ethos-based abilities to godlike levels.
This state often leads to a temporary transformation with physical mutations.
While immensely powerful, this state is dangerous even for the Beast, as prolonged use risks destabilizing their Ethos Core, resulting in their destruction.
---
[Energy Crystals]
When a Beast is killed, its Ethos Core crystallizes into an Energy Crystal, containing condensed Ethos energy. The size, quality, and energy density of the crystal depend on the Beast's rank and strength. These crystals are vital to Enerions, who use them to restore their Ethos reserves or enhance their own Ethos Cores.
---
[ABILITY TRANSFER]
This is a transfer of an innate ability at the cost of death from an Enerion to another. (This is not yet fully developed or implemented in the world-building).
