Chapter 18 - CHAPTER 4 (Part 4)

(POV - Daniel)

I'm back in the village and enter the house we bought.

"I'm back."

"Dani, look at the clothes I bought!" my grandma says excitedly, showing me a cute blue dress.

Wow, wow. She looks like a real teenager… It's uncomfortable and cute at the same time.

"You look like a young girl; calm down."

"What are you saying? I am a young girl! Fufu," she says proudly, puffing out her chest.

"It's already gone to your head. I know why you became young. It's a simple explanation."

"Why?"

"People resurrected with the spell who are over 50 come back with a 20-year-old body."

"So incredible and convenient!"

Yeah, too convenient… Thank you, fate, for putting that spell in my path!!

"Daniel…"

Sara approaches me.

"We need to talk."

Wow, wow. She looks worried. What happened? Is she scared of me? No, I sense it's something else.

My grandma is fine, so I don't think it's about her… Or is she scared of my grandma? Look at her, Sara; she's admiring her new clothes with a smile on her face. How could someone as pure and innocent as my grandma scare you?

"What's wrong? Did something bad happen? Are you feeling okay?"

"It's about Sandro; he saw us with your grandma and started… bothering her."

… No one bothers my grandma… And from Sara's tone, that idiot did something really bad.

Sandro, I might let you insult me, but no one bothers my grandma and gets away with it.

I'm not in school anymore; I'm not afraid to defend my grandma's honor with violence.

If you mess with my grandma, you're getting a beating.

"Grandma, did he do something bad to you? Please, don't hide anything from me."

"Nothing really bad, don't worry. He just touched my breasts and told me to join his team. Don't worry; I gave him a good slap and a kick to the groin," my grandma says calmly.

He… just… touched… her… breasts?!

"What?!"

"Don't worry; it's nothing. I already hit him, and I'll report him to the guild master later, after I put away my clothes."

Sandro groped my grandma.

Sandro sexually harassed my grandma.

Sandro, the bastard who sleeps with any woman he wants, set his sights on my grandma.

Sandro… Sandro…

"He… touched… your… breasts… That son of a bitch touched my grandma's breasts…"

"Dani, don't curse!"

"Sandro… Sandro… Idiot!!" I shout, furious.

I storm out of the house, and everyone follows me.

He'll regret making me angry!! He'll regret sexually harassing my grandma!! I'll make him suffer!!

"What are you going to do?" my grandma asks, worried.

"Are you going to beat him up?" Sara says.

"Are you going to kill him?" Alex says.

"I don't know!" I say, filled with rage.

Just imagining what he did makes my blood boil.

He dared to bother my grandma… He dared to harass her…

I promised to protect my grandma, and I'll defend her from anyone who bothers her, no matter who they are.

I don't care about age, gender, or race. Anyone who messes with her will face punishment.

"Dani, stop, please! The guild master will fine him or whatever they do! Don't take justice into your own hands! It's not worth it!"

"He needs to learn his lesson."

"Y-you're going to kill him? Daniel, Sandro is the most powerful adventurer in the guild and one of the strongest in the country. It's not a good idea to face him without preparation!" Sara says.

"I don't care."

But one thing I'm sure of: Sandro will regret making me angry.

I rarely get this mad… And the people who make me this mad always regret it.

I always avoided trouble at school to not worry my grandma, but when someone crossed the line and insulted her, I always beat them up.

I can tolerate humiliation directed at me, but I'll never allow anyone to disrespect my grandma. No one messes with my grandma and gets away with it!

"Dani, stop, please!!"

Sorry for disobeying you, grandma, but I've put up with enough of Sandro's nonsense. I'm done!

There's the guild. Sandro must be there. And if he's not, I'll find him. You won't escape this beating.

I enter the guild and see Sandro surrounded by girls.

"Sandro!!"

"What do you want? Can't you see I'm busy?"

"I challenge you to a fight right now!!"

"You want to fight me? Wow, wow, wow."

He starts laughing and draws his sword.

"I accept!!" he says, smirking.

I'll wipe that smirk off your face, idiot.

"A fight between Daniel and Sandro?!"

"Who do you think will win?!"

"I'm betting on Daniel!"

"I'm betting on Sandro!"

The adventurers get excited, and Sandro approaches me.

"Well? Move your ass."

"Tsk. You're dead."

"Fufu. We'll see."

Sandro leaves the guild.

"D-Dani, don't do it," my grandma says, her eyes teary.

"Sorry, but this time I won't obey you."

I start following Sandro.

If I keep letting Sandro act however he wants, I'll never have peace of mind, because he might attack or even rape my grandma.

I need to end this problem before it's too late.

That's why I won't obey you, grandma. The right decisions aren't always easy to make, and I'm choosing the right one, even if you don't like it.

We leave the village, and most of the adventurers are watching us.

The more witnesses, the better, so they realize it's a bad idea to make me angry and learn never to bother my grandma or my friends.

They're even betting. I'll wait for them to finish betting before starting, since Alex gathered all her and Sara's savings to bet on me.

From what I could hear, most adventurers bet on Sandro's victory, and I don't blame them. I defeated the Black Demon easily because he got cocky, and Sandro has way more experience than me.

But I'll win. I'll definitely win.

"Dani, don't do something stupid!" my grandma says, scared.

"Sandro's an expert in close combat; be careful," Sara says.

"Come on, Daniel, you can do it!" Alex says, clutching her betting tickets.

"Get away from me!" I say angrily, as the rage won't leave my body until I teach Sandro a lesson.

Sandro laughs at me.

"Got mad because I groped your girl? So sensitive, shorty."

"Shut up!!"

"That woman has really soft breasts."

I try not to vomit and approach him.

I won't let you keep talking about my grandma like that! I'm going all out!

"Muslar asio! Espada Dex!"

I grab the sword with my hands, feeling lighter and more powerful, allowing me to run faster.

"You'll regret this!" Sandro says, smirking.

Sandro runs toward me, and I run toward him too.

"Vels!" Sandro says.

He increases his speed. A speed-boosting spell, huh? Thanks, another spell for my inventory.

"Vels!"

I increase my speed too.

"Give me a good fight!" Sandro says.

"I will!"

He tries to hit me with his sword, but thanks to the Muslar asio spell, I can see his strike in slow motion and dodge it, but just barely.

Unfortunately, he grazes my forehead.

Sandro is incredibly fast; even with a spell that lets me see attacks in slow motion, I couldn't fully dodge that strike.

I have to admit, he really deserves the S-rank, but I'm not scared at all!

I gain momentum and try to attack him with my sword.

Unlike me, he perfectly dodges my attack and escapes.

Tsk. His reflexes are incredible.

I try to attack again, charging and running toward him, but he dodges my attack again and strikes back.

This time, he manages to cut my right shoulder a bit.

D-damn it, it hurts a lot, but I can't let the pain show on my face.

I try to attack again, and when he dodges, I take the chance to back off.

The spell lets me see movements in slow motion, but moving to dodge attacks is exhausting.

I need to catch my breath.

We keep our distance while I try to catch my breath.

D-damn it, he doesn't look tired. Experience is beating raw power, huh? Sandro, you may be a shitty person, but you have my respect as an adventurer.

"You're good, but not good enough, shorty!"

My forehead is bleeding, and so is my shoulder, but I can handle it.

"Dani, stop!"

… Sara stops my grandma from running toward me. She's crying… I'm sorry, grandma, but I won't stop. I just got an idea.

Sandro can barely dodge my attacks when I run, but there's a way to surpass that speed and cut him.

And Sandro's laughing at me; he's too confident, and that confidence could cost him his life… Literally.

"Come on, Sandro!"

"Beat that pretty face!"

"You can do it, Daniel!"

"Kya! Even with his face covered in blood, he looks so hot!"

"Daniel, you look so sexy with blood on your face!"

"Make me a baby!"

… Ugh… I don't have time to feel nervous.

The men are cheering for Sandro, and the women are cheering for me.

"Wow, wow. You're more popular with the women than I am. I'm jealous," Sandro says, still smirking.

"I'll wipe that smirk off your face! Flecha solar!"

My sword disappears, and a bow appears.

I start shooting arrows at him, which Sandro dodges effortlessly.

The adventurers behind Sandro move away to avoid getting hit by the arrows.

"Fufu. Desperate?"

I'm not worried about hurting innocent people; the arrows are easy to dodge, even for novice adventurers. Sara warned me this spell only works against large, slow targets due to its speed, but it's more than enough to make Sandro overconfident and get closer to me.

"D-damn it!" I say, faking desperation.

"Hahahahaha! You're pathetic!"

Sandro runs toward me, still dodging the arrows.

Just a bit more… A bit more… Now!

I drop the bow.

"Espada Dex!"

When he sees my sword appear in my hand as he's right in front of me, he tries to escape, pushing himself backward, thinking I'll attack.

I will attack, but not by running or standing.

As Sandro backs off and tries to strike me, I crouch and perfectly dodge his attack, since the sudden appearance of my sword must have surprised him, at least a little, causing his attack to slow down.

My turn.

"Arches Nexus!" I say as fast as I can.

I leap forward, and thanks to the incredible speed I gain from the flight spell, I manage to cut Sandro in half, not giving him enough time to dodge.

I'm insanely fast when flying, way faster than running.

Sandro never expected that sudden speed change, which let me catch him off guard and strike. It was just a matter of holding the sword tightly while flying toward him.

And as a result, my victory.

"Arghhh!!" Sandro screams in pain.

I cut Sandro in half… I killed him.

"I'm faster when flying. Didn't you know?" I say, smirking.

"H-he won…? He won!!"

"Daniel won!!"

"Nooo, my money!!"

"Arghhh!! Sandro, why did you let your guard down?!"

"Daniel, that was incredible, daddy!! I couldn't even see that sudden speed change!!"

"Make me two babies!!"

All the adventurers cheer my victory, while others complain, having lost their money. That's what they get for not betting on me.

"Yes!! We multiplied our money, Daniel!! You're amazing!!" Alex shouts, running toward me with my grandma and Sara.

… My grandma approaches me… And she looks scared and disturbed.

I'm sorry, grandma, but someone had to teach Sandro a lesson.

I showed my grandma something gruesome.

"… I'm sorry."

"Dani, you didn't have to kill him!" my grandma says, shaking my shoulders.

Don't worry, grandma; don't forget my new spell.

"Calm down; I had to teach him a lesson so he stays away from you. He'll be back soon."

I approach his corpse and extend my right hand.

"Only because I know you're important to this country, I'm doing this. Resucitación espiris!"

A circle appears, and Sandro reappears naked and confused.

Why did he appear naked?

"Huh?! I'm back to life?! But I was sure I… W-what?"

Sandro looks at his own body, cut in half.

"Arghhh!!" he screams, disturbed and terrified.

Yeah, anyone would be horrified seeing their own corpse.

"Be grateful I revived you. You're welcome."

The adventurers look at me in awe, as I showed them something they're not used to seeing, and I highly doubt they've ever seen it.

"He knows a spell to revive people!"

"A-amazing!"

"Who is he really?!"

I'm just a human.

Sara and Alex approach me.

"Great fight!" Sara says.

"You're incredible, Daniel; you used the speed you gain from flying to catch Sandro off guard!" Alex says.

Sandro's still frozen, staring at his corpse.

"Yeah, it's one of the grossest things you've ever seen, but that's what you get for being the way you are."

Sandro looks me in the eyes.

"Remember this: no more sexual harassment, got it?"

"Y-yes," Sandro says, scared.

"And I want you to apologize to every woman you've bothered."

"I-I will."

Sandro looks at me with fear, and I walk away from him.

"Bye."

I walk away, staring at the ground.

"Sandro…"

Tears start streaming from my eyes.

I'm sorry, but no one touches my grandma!

I did something horrible to you, but you deserved it… I hate harassers. I hate them.

I wipe my tears and look up.

"I'm sorry."

Near Iris Village.

One of the kids wakes up.

"Are we alive? We're alive!"

The boy tries to wake his sister.

"Sister, we're still alive!"

The girl wakes up and yawns.

"The demon didn't kill us?"

"No, I think he really wasn't a demon."

"We were wrong."

"Should we apologize?"

"I don't think we'll see him again; let's go back to the village."

"Yeah."
