The EC Games office was buzzing more than usual. A new client had arrived for a potential game collaboration—and let's just say, everyone noticed him.
"Who is that tall glass of danger?" Zoya whispered, peeking through the blinds of the conference room. "He looks like a movie villain in a tux."
Elena walked in with coffee and glanced at the man Zoya was referring to.
Her heart stopped.
"...Oh no," she muttered.
Zoya caught the panic. "Wait. You know him?! Spill it. Ex-boyfriend? Ex-fiancé? Ex–what?!"
"Ex–'never-to-be-mentioned-again,'" Elena said, trying to breathe. "That's Aidan. We used to date. Long ago."
Just then, Aidan stepped out of the conference room—and saw her.
"Elena?" he said, pleasantly surprised.
Zoya blinked. "Girl. That's not just an ex. That's an unfinished chapter."
Ethan, who happened to be passing by, noticed the tension. And Aidan.
"Who's that?" Ethan asked Zoya calmly.
"Elena's ex," she replied, not-so-calmly.
Ethan stared at Aidan for a long beat. "Interesting."
Later that day, Aidan approached Elena near the elevator.
"I didn't expect to see you here," he said with a soft smile. "You look... amazing."
Elena gave a polite nod. "Thanks. I work here now."
"Is it serious?" he asked. "Between you and the CEO?"
Elena froze.
Before she could answer, Ethan appeared like a tall shadow from behind and casually wrapped an arm around her shoulder.
"Yes," Ethan said with a charming smile. "Very serious."
Aidan's eyebrows rose.
"Oh," he said. "I see."
As Aidan walked away, Ethan leaned closer to Elena and whispered, "I'm sorry. Was that too much?"
Elena was still flustered from the whole moment. "I... don't know."
"Alex told me to be brave," Ethan muttered with a smirk. "Guess he's rubbing off on me."
Elena laughed despite herself. "That tiny spy really is running our lives."
Just then, Zoya appeared from behind a wall. "I KNEW IT. I KNEW THERE WAS SPARK."
Ethan sighed. "Does she live in the walls or something?"
