Chapter 2 - CHAPTER TWO : FORGOTTEN SPIRE

The moment I opened my eyes, a black card hovered in the air, suspended above still, cold waters. Then, the Hex echoed through the silence:

[Condition required to unseal the Shadow Key has been fulfilled.]

[You have obtained the Shadow Key.]

I sat there, soaked and shivering, the water numbing my skin—but not the ache within. My chest felt hollow. The pain didn't scream. It whispered. It clung. She was right. What she said that day… it was the truth I didn't want to face.Because deep down—I knew.I knew she was alive. But believing it meant hoping. And hoping meant hurting again.A bitter laugh slipped from my throat, quiet and broken. My hands trembled as I gripped my knees. I wanted to scream. To disappear. To sleep forever.Instead, I whispered a single word—the only one I remembered

"Rune."

As soon as the word left my lips, shimmering symbols ignited in the air before me. They hovered in front of me like a screen. The cold darkness around me seemed to respond, drawing in closer, as if the space itself watched in silence.Though I couldn't understand the language at first, something changed in my sight. A strange resonance. The runes were just words, but they were part of me, responding to my will. They began to arrange themselves, slowly forming a pattern. Words. Meanings. Truths. I didn't know how, but I understood them.

I felt anger rise, burning deep inside me.No real abilities. No chance of passing the trial.Hopeless. A sinking weight in my chest, dragging me down. Why did they force me?They knew I had no hope.Divine rank… The ranks of Aspects were grouped into five:Sole, Attuned, Awakened, Origin, Divine. From what I knew, Sole Aspects couldn't be passed on. Attuned could be, but they'd change to fit the user. That was all the knowledge I had, yet fear knotted my stomach. What was a Divine Aspect?I looked up.The black card loomed over me—watching.I felt entranced by it, drawn in by the dread that surged within me. But in a strange way, I also felt calm.Would I find peace before I touched it?Instantly, I faded—leaving the peaceful void.Wind whistled in my ear as I fell.I landed softly. Black sand cushioned my fall.I looked up. There was no sun, no moon, no stars. But I could see.Fear crept into me.I looked behind, realizing I was on an island—but it wasn't surrounded by water. It was an endless void of darkness.I walked to the edge.I jumped.I fell, but the darkness caught me.I landed back on the island, feeling heavier than before.I sat, tears streaming down my face.I couldn't even die. Then the Hex echoed again

[A task has appeared.]

[Find the secret hidden in the Forgotten Spire.]

[Reward: Lost Memory.]
