Chapter 20 - Chapter 19 – Caught in a Moment

The morning after his quiet meal, Jun set up his brewing kit like always.

Same worn cloth.

Same chipped dripper.

Same slow, careful motions.

No announcements.

No banners.

Just brewing.

The plaza wasn't busy yet.

Perfect.

Jun liked it best when the city still yawned and stretched, half-dreaming.

That was when the pour felt truest—unrushed.unseen.

The kettle hissed quietly.

The steam rose like a soft thread.

Jun tilted the pour into slow spirals—measured, breathing through the motion.

The smell of fresh bloom lifted into the air: floral, clean, a hint of cocoa at the edges.

He didn't notice the girl at first.

Late teens.

Hoodie sleeves too long.

Camera strap slung lazily around her neck.

She wasn't loud.

Wasn't waving.

Just standing a few meters away, watching quietly.

Lens lifted.

Focus clicked.

Once.

Twice.

Three times.

Jun didn't say anything.

Didn't stop brewing.

Didn't pose.

Just kept pouring.

The girl lingered a moment longer—then lowered her camera, gave a slight nod, and disappeared into the city flow.

No conversation.

No promises.

Just a moment captured without permission—and without theft.

A gift taken, not stolen.

[Current Passive Reach: 1 Viewer]

Jun blinked at the log.

A new metric.

Not numbers.

Not followers.

Not fame.

Just reach.

Soft.

Unforced.

Real.

He smiled slightly.

Not because it promised anything.

But because it reminded him:

Even when you brew in silence—someone might still be listening.

The next customers trickled in slowly.

No rush.

No applause.

But maybe—

just maybe—

the city had noticed a little more than before.

[System Reminder: Presence Ripples Growing – No Acceleration Advised.]

Jun nodded internally.

He wasn't chasing the ripples.

He was just brewing them, one pour at a time.

The rest—

the reach, the impact—

would flow at its own pace.

Like a slow pour, finding its own gravity.
