Chapter 6 - 5. A Song Beneath the Moonlight

As I held the water-formed flute in my hands, a strange warmth settled in my chest-a nostalgic tug, as though a forgotten piece of me had quietly returned. I had been so long since I played. So this is Azure's power... he can form things out of water? Fascinating.

I tried creating some other instruments-harp, drum, violin-but none of them took shape. Only the flute responded. Then I shifted my focus and imagined different shapes. To my surprise, a small fish formed in my palm, glistening like glass. It moved when I willed it to-swimming mid-air as if the world was its ocean. I could even feel what it felt. Curious.

So, I could make a flute and a fish. Not flashy-but maybe... meaningful. I smiled. If I ever survive in this world, perhaps I'll become a musician. I don't plan on meddling in this story's drama. A quite life sounds far more appealing.

The flute shimmered in the moonlight as I brought it closer. Music had always been my first love-something pure. In my previous life, I had spent years learning instruments. The flute, though, was my favourite. It always reminde me of peace... of divinity. Of Lord Krishna.

This world had more of a European setting, but... surely, no one would mind if I play in my own way?

I held the flute gently, my left hand further up, my right closer to me. I placed my lips to its edge, and with a deep breath, played.

The first notes emerged like ripples in water-soft, trembling, pure. My fingers danced over the wet, cool surface of the instrument, and with each movement, a part of me seemed to awaken. The melody carried through the night, a song of stillness and longing. I closed my eyes, lost in the rhythm of my own heart.

When I opened them again, I gasped.

Crystals shimmered in the air, suspended in glowing arcs. Droplets floated like stars, reflecting the moonlight in delicate hues. Feather-shaped notes formed from water and light, drifting gently around me. The source of it all-the flute. This divine scene... was born from my music.

For the first time in this strange new life, I felt truly proud. Maybe I wasn't as powerless as I thought.

And so, I played alone under the stars-my own little world of water and song.

-Behind the trees in front of Azure's balcony-

A tall figure stood silently on the highest branch, his gaze fixed on the glowing boy beneath the moon.

'Who is he?' the man wondered. 'An angel... or a god? That melody... it's beautiful. I have never heard anything like it.'

With a quite whoosh, he leapt from the branch and glided into the night, his long dark-purple hair trailing behind him. In the silver light, his red eyes gleamed.

-Somewhere deep in the dark-

A faintly glowing crystal hovered mid-air, shining a soft blue. A shadowed figurestood befor it, his smile twisted.

"So, my little puppet's started using magic..." he muttered. "How bold of him to challenge me. Has he forgotten the price?"

He reached his hand out, and the crystal pulsed beneath his fingers.

"Let him enjoy this freedom... while it lasts."
