Larvesta and I went on to through the trial.... but I had to be careful as to not overlevel it..
from the Gym Match and the fight with the Rolycoly and Carkol, Thwakey has become level 18.
So my Larvesta can't do too many batlles as it still doesn't have a way to restrict its level under Thwakey.
Larvesta (Shiny) (F)
Level: 15
Larvesta already gained two levels from fighting around 4 level 3-5 Pokémon.... Having an A+ talent in LM makes it harder...
But Luckily we're already deep inside the trial, wild Pokémon haven't appeared in the last 10 minutes we took walking towards the next trial.
though the Larvesta is quite cold personality wise.. its quite obedient to me despite being a Legacy.... though how did such a Pokémon come to be?
my guess is since the Volcarona is a Longecity, it might have been the Legacy Pokémon of a family that's already fallen. A+ talent isnt just naturally acquired.
Talent higher than B is simply too rare. and wild Pokémon are usually caught before they can be used by ordinary people...
Males are usually used for 'cultivation' being the partners of the Female Legacy Pokémon.
Heirs of families always get the most talented female offspring of the last Legaxy Pokémon in the family.
But sometimes there isn't even a female offspring. For example, my Grandfather's Aegislash couldn't produce a female Honedge before passing away.
Thus my father was left with the most talented Male Honedge.
But he did find a female Aegislash from our family's wild dome, in which the Honedge not picked to be the Legacy Pokémon are kept.
Essentially, I just got lucky.
But most of the time. The Female Legacy Pokémon are usually bred with a Wild male or the Male offspring of Legacy Pokémon if they are in the same Egg group atleast.
The male always having atleast one of its Talents being better than the female.
Like Julia's Mawile. Its parents were a male Absol from her mother and her father's Mawile it inherited Absol's A in LM and the parent Mawile's A in MC...
The Chance of Inheriting Talents is split up to the Male's, The Female's and a mutation...
Essentially Just Factoring in Talent alone, Having the prefered offspring is roughly a 12% chance.
There's also the gender ratio, and the fact that Pokèmon can't breed with its 'siblings' in which are if both share atleast one parent.
And the strain on breeding is too much for Pokèmon at level 50 or lower.... Hence why its practically impossible to find wild Pokèmon with a Legacy.
So this Larvesta is a Treasure on par with Honedge. It could become a secondary Legacy Pokèmon for the Chevalier family since its a female.
The value of this Larvesta is simply too immense, so having one handed to me on a silver platter is crazy...
My thoughts were stopped by the Larvesta spewing some smoke on me to gain my attention.
"Ahh, you didn't have to do that.."
I fan the smoke out of my face and i read the sign in front of me. A sign with two different colored rocks greet me.
"Trial of strength..."
"The Pokèmon touches the red rock and the trainer touches the blue rock"
The two of us complied. Larvesta touched the red rock, while i touched the blue rock.
After touching the rock, my mind grew hazy. After a few minutes I am transported into a Stadium, and I look towards the battlefield..
There stood a red Aegislash and it faced a Golden Winged Volcarona..
The trainer before me was in fact... Familiar.
Upon closer inspection, I realize its my father... Although a lot younger, so this is his Aegislash...
"Volcarona use Flamethrower!"
I realize this is a Fight. And I instinctively know the teamsheets of Volcarona and Aegislash.
Aegislash, about to be hit by the Flamethrower.... Father took out his Tera orb and Terastalized Aegislash into the Ghost type before the Flamethrower was ready...
The Flamethrower hit Aegislash direct but didn't do much damage thanks to Aegislash's Defence..
My Tera type here is Grass... But I Don't have a reason to use it.
"Aegislash, use Substitute
the Aegislash sets-up a Substitute, Negating the next attack... And Will-o-wisp is now unable to reach Aegislash
I already did a major misplay..
I should have Will-o-wisp'd before the substitute...
After the turn ended, Aegislash got damaged by burn, but also got healed by leftovers... Essentially doing no damage, Aegislash's attack got cut in half, making it discouraged from using Physical attacks, Which Volcarona has a low defence stat
"Volcarona use Flamethrower!"
Though Aegislash was weak to fire... My father is a master at maximizing Aegislash's Stance Change ability, and Aegislash benefits from a more reactive approach to battles...
"Aegislash, use Swords Dance!"
Aegislash replied in a Swords Dance. Just its Shadow Sneak might be enough to knock out Volcarona in its shield form now...
"Volcarona use-"
"Aegislash, use Shadow Sneak!"
The Aegislash quickly turned into its Sword form and Charged at the Volcarona in quick speed.
The Aegislash KO'd Volcarona and my Vision Faded as I went back in front of the sign
".... Ah, so this is the trial of power. Its quite a interesting trial."
I think back to my mistake in the battle.... Even if I did use Will-o-wisp at the start, there's still the possibility of it missing.
And now that i think about it... I think my father could have played around the turn 1 Burn.
And that Tera Ghost is concerning... It'll make it hard to knock out Aegislash before Volcarona is knocked out...
"Larvesta, did you also see that battle?"
The little Moth nodded its head and got closer to me.
"Hm.. that Aegislash is gonna be a tough one to beat... And if I'm correct. I should probably think this one through.."
I sat down with Larvesta and began brainstorming with it a plan to beat that Aegislash..
