Gireesham is direct older brother of her mother. He talk rough but is so kind hearted. Aparna just went along with his uncle. "Padma, get your niece some buttermilk with lemon." called out for his wife. He sat on a straw mat spread near the wall. His wife came shortly "Aparna, how are you and your mother? Good to see you now."handed her small earthen pot of butter milk. Aparna sat on the grass mat. Padma sat behind her. "good aunt. Mother told that your dog is expecting. I would love to see those puppies early...." excitedly. After some time, she took her leave and left to her home for real....
Karunakar dropped by Krishna's house. He just entered the house so silently. He saw Krishna sitting on the cot under the tree so he went to her. "Krishna Priya Krishna Priya..." he called her in such a low voice that is hard to hear. Krishna turned her head as she felt something around her and was shocked when she saw him "wwhhhaatt are you doing here?" She stuttered a little. "Shhhh..." closed her lips with his fore finger, continued "don't talk too loud. I'll be waiting at the tree near the temple. Come there before sunset. Then... I'll be going now." He really just left like that without hearing an answer from Krishna. Krishna was too dumbfounded. It took her some time to process what was happening. She smiled a little and went into her room to make herself presentable and go to the tree. After a little while, "aunt Kasthuri, I'll be coming home a little later. Please inform my father not to worry about me." Krishna took her leave after informing Kasthuri.
Krishna was walking with a little jump to her step, walking on a soft cloud, with a smile on her face that didn't fade for even a second, neared the tree. As she neared the tree she saw a man walking restlessly around the tree. She giggled a little and gently and carefully approached the man with her light steps. He stopped walking as soon as he saw her in front of him. Karunakar "I really thought you wouldn't be coming." with a hint of surprise on his face. She didn't say anything. They just sat under the tree beside each other looking at the peaceful flow of river. Karunakar decided to break the silence "river is looking beautiful today." He internally screamed "what the he'll are you talking about, you idiot. Don't you have any other things to talk about." ," yes it is. Especially with the boats returning home here and there." Krishna replied pointing out the boats with her fingers. Karunakar didn't expect her to entertain his idiotic sentence and realized "this is Krishna Priya. She doesn't know how to joke around."smiled himself for her innocence.
"It's even more beautiful with you by my side" he replied. She hung her head low as she heard him. "Krishna Priya, today I asked you to come here is to give you something" he started looking nervous. She nodded "what is it?" asked him in a voice that is slightly higher than a whisper. Karunakar took out a small pouch and took out a pair of anklets from that into his hand showing it to her by placing them right in front of her eyes. "I told you that I've prepared another gift for you. This is that present." he told her as he handed her those anklets. She looked at those silver anklets adorned with stones of green and red color at random patterns. She was about take those into her hands as he was giving "stop" he said. She stopped her hand in mid air and looked at him with a perplexed expression. "I mean..... I didn't mean... I mean, can I put it on your ankles?" asked hesitantly. She nodded as she drew her knees to chest and slightly pulled the skirt of half saree exposing her ankles, and looked at them by placing her head resting on her crossed arms placed over her knees with affection. He was exhilarated. He took one of the anklet into his hands gently reached out to her right foot, carefully lifted and placed it on his calf. He put the anklet on her right ankle carefully and stroked that in satisfaction. He gently put the foot back and took the left one and put the anklet on to it. He looked at her with a sense of satisfaction as she seemed to be so happy with the present. "I really like it. Thank you" Krishna looked at him in the eyes and expressed herself loudly enough for him. Karunakar internal voice "what to do? How can she be like this? I'm the one who's giving her the present but why does it feel like I'm the one who's receiving. PRIYAA, can we get married already? " without any change in his face. He was so happy that she told him that loudly.
"Can we get married already?" He voiced out that aloud. Krishna's eyes shook and opened her mouth a little and looked at him. He was taken aback by himself when he heard his own voice projecting his internal thoughts and immediately looked at her. She was sitting with her knees even more drawn towards her with her head buried there and with her arms hugging them so tightly. He came a little closer to her in a panic only to hear her say "we can." His heart almost jumped out of his body. He "Let me talk to our parents then" with his hand stroking her vertex so gently.
A little while later they went to their respective homes.
Aparna saw his brother being on lighter and lighter steps. "Brother, did something happen between Krishna and you?" asked him as she closed distance between them. He flinched a little "am I so easy to read?" asked with a sad puppy face. Aparna "YES ,YOU ARE, BROTHER" answered without hesitation so loudly that his father who just came home heard her voice. He looked devastated. She added "don't worry brother. It's not that you are easy to read all the time but the air around you will be different when something good happens with Krishna that's all." patting his shoulder like she's encouraging him. Obulesu came in "what's with you brother, Aparna?" asked placing his hand over her head, pressing it a little.
