Chapter 47 - Chapter 47 Pet

Chapter 47 Pet

When Nicholas returned to the Luxurious Residence provided by Carrera, it was already past eleven o'clock.

Night had fallen deeply. After Nicholas dragged his body back to his Room, he heard another person's presence on his bed.

The other person seemed to be sleeping soundly, completely unaware of Nicholas's presence.

Nicholas stepped forward to help tuck in the quilt corners, then slipped in as well, directly hugging the other person and falling into a deep sleep.

When he woke up again, it was already noon the next day.

Outside the window, it was drizzling, mixed with the sea breeze passing through the City, blowing the wind chimes hanging by the window, creating a unique feeling.

Skillfully getting up from the bed—wait, no, from the ground—Nicholas's mind was still a bit muddled. He sat on the ground in a daze for a while before suddenly standing up as if he remembered something. Then, he began rummaging through a pile of clothes on the bed.

Soon, a small blue bottle of Oral Liquid appeared in Nicholas's hand. Skillfully flicking open the bottle cap with his finger, he gulped down the green-purple liquid inside.

Then, he went to the mirror and discovered that the colorful colors on his face had faded. Even the two bright Mushrooms that had grown out of his nostrils were easily pulled off with a tug.

"Ah, Captain? Why are you up so early?"

Bell-lin's voice came from the bed behind him. She was clearly not fully awake yet, and even with the Crow Doctor's Mask on, one could still sense her confusion.

"."

Nicholas looked at Bell-lin's graceful figure and the feel of her from last night. He decided to directly ignore the matter of Bell-lin being a restless sleeper and kicking him off the bed last night.

"Cough cough, it's nothing, you continue sleeping."

After speaking, Nicholas directly allowed his Body to enter Elementalization. With a crackling electric sound, faint colorful Smoke appeared on Nicholas's Body.

After the colorful colors on his face completely disappeared, Nicholas then deactivated Elementalization.

Looking at Bell-lin, who had fallen asleep again, Nicholas couldn't help but sigh. This was what happened after just hugging and sleeping for a night without doing anything. If they were to be intimate and have negative distance contact, he was afraid he would try and then die. As for Elementalization, hmm... better not.

After getting dressed, Nicholas directly left the Room and walked outside. Today, he was going to the Black Market of Water Seven to see if there was anything good.

"Ah, I always feel like my worldview gets refreshed every time I visit the Black Market."

Looking at the various things displayed on the Black Market stalls, Nicholas sighed helplessly. As someone who had experienced the red star's illumination, he still couldn't adapt to some of the evils in the Pirate World.

Soon, Nicholas's footsteps stopped in front of a Shop Entrance with a Signboard printed with a Logo of a net and chains intertwined. This Logo could be said to be known by almost everyone in the Underworld, exclusively belonging to Slave Trader and Pet Trader.

From them, one could not only buy various Slaves but also various rare Pets.

Nicholas directly walked inside. The Receptionist standing in the Shop, upon seeing Nicholas's face, immediately smiled like a chrysanthemum. After all, Great Pirate from the New World were among their important customers, and many of the things they plundered were distributed through the Black Market.

"Mr. Nicholas, you've come. I don't know what you are looking to buy. Although our Slave types can't compare to those in the New World and prosperous Islands, we also have many Slaves full of exotic charm..."

Facing the Slave Trader's enthusiastic recommendation, Nicholas directly waved his hand. He had come to buy Pets this time, and besides, he was a decent person.

After Nicholas stated that he wanted to buy a Pet, the Slave Trader's smile did not diminish. One should know that the price of some Pets was even several times higher than the price of Slaves. After all, Slaves were easy to obtain, but some rare Animals were very difficult to catch.

Then, Nicholas was led by the Slave Trader into the Shop Interior. After passing through a Corridor, several Gates with different icons suddenly appeared before him. Some icons were of a woman's appearance, some were of a man's appearance, and there were also icons of tigers, fish, and Bird Egg shapes.

"Mr. Nicholas, if you want to buy Pets, we have three types here: sea, land, and air. Which type do you want?"

The Slave Trader asked with a smile.

"Birds, I guess."

"Then this way, Mr. Nicholas, please."

Following the Slave Trader, Nicholas entered the Gate with the Bird Egg Logo.

Entering inside, Nicholas felt as if he had come to a bird exhibition. It could be said that there were birds everywhere here, from small ones like Canaries and Hummingbirds to raptors as large as fighter jets.

Soon, according to Nicholas's request, the Slave Trader had someone bring over a Bird Egg.

This Egg was actually as big as a washbasin, and its weight was estimated to be twenty to thirty pounds.

"Lord Nicholas, this is the Egg of the raptor Wind-Rending Eagle. When it matures, it is often huge in size, powerful in attack, and possesses amazing Power that ordinary Falcons do not have. Even its Speed after adulthood can tear apart raging winds."

After speaking, he handed the Bird Egg to Nicholas.

As soon as Nicholas took this washbasin-sized Egg in his hand.

*Pa-thump!*

First, there was a muffled sound, and then Nicholas blankly saw a crack clearly appearing on the top of the Egg, and then gradually expanding. In the "crack crack" light sound, a light yellow Beak protruded from the crack.

Then, the cracks on the Egg's surface began to spread in other directions, and small pieces of Eggshell fell off from time to time.

Finally.

*Crack!* With a crisp sound, the Eggshell above the giant Egg was directly pushed open, and a bald head suddenly emerged from inside.

Tender pink skin, featherless Wings, small eyes full of wisdom. If the Slave Trader hadn't introduced it beforehand, Nicholas would have almost thought it was a plucked Chicken.

"Screech!"

After this bald 'Chicken' drilled out of the Eggshell and poked its head around to look at its surroundings, it let out a loud cry, flapping its Wings happily and coming out of the Eggshell. It stood on Nicholas's arm, who was a little dumbfounded, and rubbed its head affectionately in his palm.

Nicholas used both hands to pick up the bald 'Chicken' by its wing roots. Seeing the little guy cast an innocent gaze at him, Nicholas suddenly had a headache as he looked at the Slave Trader: "Why did it just come out? What's this? Are you guys planning to bully me because you think I'm easy to push around and trying to force a sale!?"

As a loyal user of the anti-fraud app, Nicholas felt that this familiar routine was a conspiracy from the Slave Trader.

"Screech~ Screech~ Screech~."

Before the Slave Trader could explain, the bald 'Chicken' in his hand instantly cried out, as if protesting.

"Mr. Nicholas, we don't know either. How about this thing, if you like it, we'll give you a 40% discount?"

The Slave Trader was also on the verge of tears. This was really like mud falling into his crotch—even if it wasn't shit, it looked like shit. After all, no matter how you looked at it, this looked like some kind of 'sales tactic'.

If it were an ordinary person, he would have forced a sale, but if he dared to do so to the person in front of him, he estimated that their stronghold in Water Seven would be demolished and they would have nowhere to complain. And if he was lucky enough not to die, he would definitely be killed by those guys at headquarters to apologize to this person.

Nicholas held the bald 'Chicken', looked left and right. Seeing the other party also curiously sizing him up with its wise eyes, Nicholas decided it was it. After all, it was a Pet, and being interesting was the most important thing.

"Okay, it's this one."

Nicholas directly made a decision with a decisive tone, amidst the Slave Trader's joyful expression.
