Chapter 22 - Daddy's Girl

"The world won't end just because of one mistake you make tonight," Trisya whispered in Ardi's ear.

Ardi looked at Trisya, their faces so close. And as if whispered by some unseen force, he suddenly wrapped his arms around Trisya's waist, gently stroking her cheek before finally kiss on her lips. Trisya didn't seem to resist, she actually reciprocated. It made the man bolder, and he began to lay Trisya down on the bed while continuing to devour her lips. There was no resistance from Trisya, she even seemed to enjoy it when Ardi started to boldly enjoy every inch of her body and undressed her piece by piece. Only sighs and moans could be heard from Trisya's mouth as their bodies intertwined on that bed.

At 6:00 AM, a call came in on Trisya's phone.

"Who the heck is calling this early?" Trisya grumbled. "Where's my phone? Oh yeah. In my bag."

Trisya reached for the bag that was on the table. She grabbed the phone inside the bag.

"Hello..."

"Trisya, sorry to bother you early in the morning. I aren't feeling well. Could you replace me for the event at the Anugrah Hotel?"

"I can. What time, Sis?"

"8 AM. But if you can, be there half an hour before the event."

"Ok. I'll take a shower first, Sis."

"Thank you."

"Yes."

Trisya put down her phone and lay back down.

"Ah, I still want to sleep. I'm so tired."

Trisya quickly got up. She showered and put on clothes. She applied light makeup. She looked at the wall clock. It was 6:40 AM.

She grabbed her phone. An incoming call from Robby.

"Hello..."

"I'm in front."

Trisya put her phone back in her bag. She slung the bag over her shoulder and walked outside.

Robby was standing in front of the door when Trisya opened it.

"You?"

"Where are you going?"

"To the Anugrah Hotel."

"What for?"

"There's an event."

"With who?"

"I've booked a taxi online. It's already arrived."

Robby looked at the car that stopped in front of the house. He approached the car. Whatever he said, the car moved, leaving Trisya's yard.

"Why did he leave? Did you chase him away?"

"I'm going to take you."

"Are you crazy? I don't want to!"

"Why? Because the vehicle I'm using is just a motorcycle? I'm still your boyfriend, Trisya! We haven't broken up yet!"

"Who said you're my boyfriend?"

"The ring you're still wearing is a sign that I'm ready to propose to you!"

"But it hasn't happened yet? I'm still a free woman!"

"Free to let other men enter your house and leave at 4 AM?" Robby retorted. "I've forgiven your betrayal with Mr. Richard! What's more, I see him like he's distancing himself from you! But you don't appreciate my understanding!"

"That's not understanding! That's called being stupid! That's it! Don't waste my time!" Trisya walked away from Robby.

"Trisya!" Robby followed the woman.

He pulled Trisya's arm.

"Why did Ardi look like he was coming out of your house at 4 AM?"

"None of your business!"

"Don't make things worse!"

"He just dropped me off! Because I wasn't feeling well! I called him to come!"

"You could have called me?? Why did it have to be him?"

"You're useless! That's all you need to know! Understand?"

Trisya pulled her hand away from Robby's grip.

Richard's car stopped in front of the house. Richard opened the car window.

"What's going on? You're arguing early in the morning."

"Don't get involved, Sir"

"Hey! I'm her father!"

"Father doesn't sleep with his daughter!" Robby retorted, making Richard speechless.

Trisya quickly got in.

"I'm going to the Anugrah Hotel, Dad. Can you take me?"

"Yes."

"Don't come to me again!" Trisya shouted.

"Trisya, don't be like that!" Richard reprimanded her.

The woman pouted. She closed the car window.

Robby just watched the car drive away.

"Why did you come?" Trisya asked.

"I happened to be passing by when I saw you arguing," Richard answered. "Why did you call last night?"

"Someone was bothering me, but you didn't answer the phone."

"I was so tired. I intentionally silenced my phone."

"Oh. I thought you wanted to avoid me."

Richard looked at Trisya.

"Have you had breakfast?"

"No. Do you want to take me for breakfast? I have to go to the Anugrah Hotel to host the event. Replacing Aisyah who's sick."

"Let's find a breakfast place near the hotel."

Trisya smiled.

"Thank you, dad. For accompanying me this morning."

"Don't bother Ardi," Richard said. "Don't trouble him."

"Why?"

"He has a job. Not to take care of your life."

Trisya didn't answer.

The car finally stopped at a coffee shop. It was simple, but it was quite crowded.

"Let's go."

Richard got out, followed by Trisya.

"Mr. Richard," greeted some reporters who were sitting at a table.

"Yes," Richard smiled.

"Together, Sir?" offered a shoulder-length haired reporter who was tied up.

His name was Taufan.

"No, they smoke," Trisya refused softly.

"Just over there. Sorry, my daughter doesn't like the smell of cigarettes," Richard said.

"Oh, your daughter? Isn't she a lecturer at Harapan Bunda University?" Taufan asked.

"Yes. Just got back from Japan. How long has it been, Sya? More than a month, right?" Richard looked at Trisya.

"It's been more than two months, Dad. How could you forget? It's already the 11th week since I came back."

"Oh yeah? Time flies by so fast."

"You're so busy, you haven't seen me for two weeks."

Richard laughed.

"Let's go, everyone..." Richard said as he left the table with Trisya.

"Mr. Richard's daughter is beautiful."

"What are you waiting for, Bro. You go for it. Find out if she has a boyfriend or not," said the girl sitting next to Taufan.

Her name was Dela.

"Ah, I'm not brave enough."

"You're close to Mr. Richard."

"Not necessarily, she might want me. Who knows, she might already have a boyfriend."

Meanwhile, at a table in the inner room, Richard looked at Trisya who was enjoying a plate of lontong sayur in front of her.

"Are you okay?"

Trisya looked at Richard.

"It's a lie if I say I'm okay."

"Ardi called Dad about you cutting your wrist with a knife."

"I thought my world was already destroyed. Mom clearly never wanted me in this world. To her, I'm trash that she should throw away because I give off a bad smell. I wanted to try to respond to Robby's desire to have a serious relationship. Even though we've only met for less than a month. Just a few weeks. He seems serious, but my heart rejects him. I don't want anything more serious with him."

Trisya stopped eating. She looked at Richard's face.

"I think... I'll never be able to live well if I haven't retaliated against Mom. It crossed my mind, I want to retaliate by making her heartbroken when you betrays her. I thought it was all over that night. I was satisfied to be able to retaliate. But when you didn't show up in my life for more than two weeks. I felt empty. I missed you. And that's when I realized, it wasn't really a one-night stand. But I really love you."
