Chapter 22 - Chapter 22: Second-Level City

"Ding, it has been detected that the host has named a new heroic unit."

Huh? What's happening? What name to give? What happened?

Just as Galen was wondering three times, the great mage who had descended from the altar dismounted his horse, leaned on his staff, knelt on one knee, and faced the sky.

"Gandalf, the seventh-level mage, greets the master."

Oh no, the mage was named Gandalf.

Gandalf, the melee mage who held a staff in his left hand and a long sword in his right, and who went in and out of the orc army many times.

"Master, I don't know any martial arts, and I can't use a sword." The great mage was still half-kneeling and did not stand up.

Hey, how did he know I was wondering if he could use a sword? Isn't it tiring to tilt your neck so high? Come on dear, why are you still kneeling?

Gandalf immediately stood up and stretched his neck.

"Thank you, Master."

Now Galen was embarrassed. How could the great mage know what he was thinking?

"Yes, Master, your spiritual power permeates this entire land. I can feel thoughts escaping from your spiritual power."

Then why have I been observing the base for almost half a month and can give them work instructions, but they don't know what I'm thinking, like you do?

"They are not strong enough to sense you. Master, you have not yet learned to control your mental power. You only need to focus it and connect it with them, and they will be able to communicate with you."

"Don't call me master, call me Galen, or you can call me prince."

Thinking of this, Galen also tried to gather his mental power so that it would no longer spread out.

During this process, Galen suddenly had an idea. When the first Farmer Cliff was built, he was able to tell him some information about the town hall. He wondered if this first hero could give him some surprises.

When questioned, the great mage knew far more than Cliff.

According to the Archmage, he only remembered that a long, long time ago, he was a powerful mage, so powerful that he could travel through the void, far surpassing the strength of a hero.

Later, he was pursued by an indescribable and terrifying horror in the void, and then he died.

After his death, his soul did not immediately dissipate. Instead, it floated aimlessly in the void. During this drifting process, the soul began to break into pieces, and memories also continued to dissipate along with the broken soul. In the end, only magical knowledge remained intact, and all other memories completely dissipated.

Just as the last shred of his soul essence was about to disappear, he was brought to this land by a ray of light and absorbed by the Altar of Kings.

Then, his broken soul was constantly repaired by the energy of the altar, and he was instilled with knowledge about the Heart of Origin Base, until his body was reshaped in the past two days.

The Heart of Origin gave him authority over other combat arms, allowing him to command all the arms trained in the base, and finally instilled in him the command to be loyal to the host.

In addition to the arcane knowledge he was originally good at, he was also instilled with four innate skills: Blizzard, Summon Water Elemental, Brilliance Aura, and Group Teleport.

As for his originally powerful strength, it had completely dissipated. This strength of a seventh-rank great mage was forcibly improved by the Heart of Origin based on the host Galen. He needed some time to consolidate his current strength before he could continue to improve his rank.

Finally, Galen also learned that he could use his mental power to share the map scanned by the base with the great mage and conduct long-range command operations.

When Galen first got the Heart of Origin, he knew it was incredible, but he didn't expect it to be this much.

Step into the void, capture souls, instill memories, and reshape the body, all at once and with ease.

The power of the Heart of Origin was so terrifying.

After Galen finished talking to Gandalf, he connected his mental power to the Altar of Kings and saw that the other hero on the interface had turned gray. He connected with the Paladin and was prompted that the town hall needed to be upgraded to a second-level main city before the second summoning could be carried out.

Then he transferred his mental energy to the town hall, looking for upgrade instructions.

Upgrade to Second-Level Main City

Requirements:

50.000 Gold Unit

30.000 Wood Unit

Upgrade to the main city to unlock more buildings and units.

Currently unavailable, requires the base population to reach 10,000 population units.

This last sentence "currently unavailable" was like a bucket of cold water poured on Galen.

Fortunately, Galen calculated that if the Town Hall continuously trained farmers and trained one farmer per hour, the goal of 10,000 people could be reached in more than 400 days.

If the combat units trained in the barracks were added, this time could be reduced by almost half. If Galen built two barracks, or even three or four barracks in a few days, then the population of 10,000 could still be reached in a few months.

Seeing that there was nothing wrong with the base, Galen added some farms, maximized the training queues of the town hall and barracks, and prepared to exit the base perspective.

Finally, he suddenly remembered and reconnected his mental power to Gandalf. He ordered him to reorganize hundreds of combat units and plan patrol routes, and then withdrew his mental power from the base.

In the following days, Galen lived a very peaceful life. In the morning, he would go to his father's place to do morning exercises and have breakfast together.

In the afternoon, he would go to the Tower of Arathor to look at the kingdom's book collection. In the evening, he would connect with the Heart of Origin through his mental power to check the situation of the base and communicate with Gandalf.

It wasn't until the fifth day that someone finally arrived at the door.

The visitor was Fardel Dabyrie , the youngest son of the current Earl Dabyrie . Galen had met him several times at the kingdom's banquet.

The Dabyrie family owned the largest farm in the northern part of the Arathi Highlands, known as the three major granaries of Stromgarde along with Northford Farm in the northwest and Goshek Farm on the southeastern border.

This boy's family was extremely wealthy. Every year, the profits earned from exporting grain to Ironforge, which was not suitable for farming, made his family more powerful. Of course, in addition to Dabyrie Farm, his family also had a fief in the northern mountains.

It was just that this boy was the second son of the family. He had an older brother, Marcel Dabyrie , who was more talented in business than him, so his mother, Viscountess Kenata Dabyrie , preferred to let the eldest son take care of family affairs.

So this boy became miserable, his older brother was better than him, and his parents made the older brother the heir. He lost the right to inheritance, and in the future, he might receive some wealth or a small piece of land to be self-sufficient, but he might end up becoming a commoner, which he could not accept.

Among the contemporary young people of Stromgarde, Fardel was very talented. Stromgarde was a martial kingdom and influenced by the environment, he had served in the militia and had some friendship with Omar and Varokal.

But after all, he was a noble. He had been pampered since childhood. There were too many temptations around him. He couldn't bear much hardship, so he withdrew from the militia early.

After realizing that he could not inherit the family fief, he felt a sense of crisis and picked up martial arts again and began to work hard. He had just turned eighteen this year and finally reached the peak of the sixth level of strength, barely touching the threshold of a high-level warrior.

His arrival surprised Galen, who was secretly delighted.

The reason why Omar and others were asked to spread the news that they were about to form an army was to attract the nobles of the kingdom.
