Chapter 55 - 55

"The other party's target should be some kind of experiment."

"Experiment?" Gwen looked at Yang Le in her palm, puzzled.

"Is it an experiment to turn people into Lizard Men?"

"If it were really that simple, that would be great." Yang Le stroked his chin.

"If the other party was merely choosing Peter as the experimental subject for their serum, then this matter would be simply cute, but my brain tells me things are obviously not that simple."

"I'm all ears." Gwen shrugged, preparing to watch Yang Le perform.

"The timing of the other party turning Peter into a Lizard Man is quite interesting. If they were just experimenting with their invention, there would be no need to wait for Peter to wake up. Yet, she still waited. Why would she do that? It's very likely to expose her Identity."

Yang Le's words made Gwen fall into thought. Indeed, doing so is too unreasonable.

"Is there a possibility that the other party deliberately gave us time to react?" Yang Le raised a finger, proposing a hypothesis.

"Are you saying that the other party wants us to discover Peter's disappearance?" Gwen looked at Yang Le in disbelief.

"But why would that Cindy Moon do this?"

"This is what I'm going to talk about next, Gwen." Yang Le's expression turned serious. Gwen didn't know how she could see seriousness on that frog face, but she just felt it.

"The other party may be coming for you."

Gwen asked in surprise, "Me? But why?"

"You're not just an ordinary little girl anymore, Spider-Woman." Yang Le pointed out Gwen's other Identity now.

Gwen asked, "My Spider Superpowers?"

"That's right." Yang Le nodded. "It seems the other party knows your true Identity, and may have known it from the beginning."

"But how did she find out?" Gwen scratched her head, suddenly struck by an idea, and exclaimed.

"That Spider that bit me?"

"That's right, maybe that Spider was Cindy Moon's intended target for herself, and you're just a lucky person who accidentally intercepted it."

This made Yang Le think of the Xianxia novels he had read before. Gwen was exactly like the protagonist who seized other people's luck without knowing it.

Gwen still didn't quite understand, and asked puzzledly, "But what does this have to do with the other party turning Peter into a Lizard Man?"

"Revenge, plus a little experiment." Yang Le really liked this feeling of question and answer. His little brain was working fast; no matter what Gwen asked, he could answer it.

"Let's assume our previous guesses are all correct. If I were Cindy Moon, since what's done is done, I might as well make the best of it.

Let this lucky guy be my test subject, while I secretly observe and record everything. As for the Lizard Man, it might be a phase test of her Ability on you.

As for choosing Peter, it's probably just to disgust you, to vent her dissatisfaction. It's killing two birds with one stone. If she also tests the Lizard serum along the way, then it's killing three birds with one stone."

"If that's really the case, after we find her, I'm going to teach her a lesson." Gwen said fiercely.

"I actually think her choice is quite efficient, it even makes me want to meet her." Yang Le voiced a different opinion.

Gwen narrowed her eyes, suddenly flipped her palm, Yang Le's body reversed, and was about to fall to the Ground, but Gwen pinched his feet and hung him upside down in mid-air.

"Wow! What's wrong, Gwen?" Yang Le exclaimed.

"Why don't you try to guess, genius? Guess why I'm angry." After Gwen said that, she gently shook her arm, and Yang Le swayed up and down, letting out bursts of screams.

"Omnitrix! De-transformation! Quickly De-transformation!"

"Received."

After the ruthless Electronic Voice, White Light flashed, and Yang Le turned back into a Human again.

Only the posture hadn't changed, still upside down. But because of the height difference, he was tilting his head, making intimate contact with the Ground.

"Sorry Gwen, I apologize for what I just said." Because his cheek was pressed against the Ground, Yang Le's words were a bit muffled.

"Grey Matter's Race, Galvan are too smart. The way they see things is different from us, so their Emotional Intelligence is relatively low, wow!"

Gwen suddenly let go of her hand. Yang Le, unprepared, fell to the Ground.

"Understandable, but a little punishment is necessary, no objections, right?" Gwen said with arms crossed and a touch of arrogance.

"No objection." Yang Le raised his hand and made an OK sign.

"So, what are we going to do next?" Gwen walked to Yang Le's side and reached out a hand to help him up.

"Are we going to investigate that radioactive Spider Company?"

"Of course we're going to investigate." Yang Le dusted himself off. "That's our only Clue, and it's the kind of Clue that can't be hidden even if they try."

Norman Osborn walked into an abandoned Building with a gloomy face.

He kept this trip very low-profile, not only disguising himself but also driving a plain Car that wasn't registered in his name. Clearly, he didn't want anyone to know his whereabouts.

Walking into the Building, he encountered Security guards patrolling. He revealed his Identity, and under the other party's lead, he came to an ordinary Room. Under the other party's gaze, he walked in alone.

Norman who entered the Room, skillfully came to a Locker, opened the cabinet door, and inside was not clothing, but a Passage downwards.

Without hesitation, Norman strode in.

After walking for about 3-4 minutes, he finally came to a rusty red Iron Gate. He swiped a Card on the Door Access Control next to the Iron Gate, and the Iron Gate opened and he walked in.

As soon as he entered, he saw the person he had been longing to see. That person was standing with their Back to him, busy with something at the Experiment table.

"Well, this is a surprise." That person didn't even turn around, but knew who had come.

"I recall, Mr. Norman, you were just here not too long ago."

"Then I probably don't need to say it, you already know the purpose of my visit this time, Cindy Moon." Norman's voice was low and hoarse, sounding like a devil's threat.

"Then you should also know my answer." Cindy Moon seemed oblivious to the threat in Norman's tone.

"Bang!"

Norman kicked the Table beside him. Judging by his kicking posture, he was clearly a seasoned pro.

Norman roared, "Cindy Moon! I placed so much faith in you, even extending beyond our initially agreed Time. I've continued to fund you without reservation, and this is how you repay me!"

"Don't be naive, Norman." Cindy finally turned around, her delicate face etched with disdain. "We both get what we want. There's no room for sickening notions like gratitude for recognizing talent. You give me Money, I handle Business for you. In fact, you need me, not the other way around."
