Chapter 53: More Brains
"We're here, this is it." Yang Le pointed at the Warehouse ahead.
Gwen glanced at the Warehouse that had already half collapsed and said, "Wow, the Warehouse Owner must be desperate to find you guys for compensation."
"Then he should go find the person who turned Peter into a Lizard Man." Yang Le took the lead and walked towards the ruins, saying without turning his Head.
It was already the morning of the next day. According to what they had discussed last night, Yang Le brought Gwen, who had skipped Homecoming, to the Warehouse where Peter had turned into a Lizard Man, preparing to use Clockwork's Ability to solve the Mystery.
Although it wasn't very meaningful, the Warehouse Owner still closed the dilapidated Gate. Looking at this leaky building and the Gate in front of them, representing the Warehouse Owner's stubbornness, how should he put it? There was a kind of Maginot Line beauty, which was inexplicably touching.
Wiping away non-existent tears, Yang Le reached out his hand towards the Gate, preparing to give the Warehouse Owner the most basic respect.
"Creak, bang!"
With a slight push from Yang Le, the dilapidated Gate also completed its mission, collapsing to the ground, kicking up a cloud of Dust.
"In for a penny, in for a pound." Yang Le shrugged and stepped over the Gate, walking into the Warehouse.
"Keep watch for me, Gwen!"
"Okay!"
Yang Le shouted towards the Doorway, and after receiving Gwen's response, he then felt relieved and began Transformation.
A flash of White Light, and Clockwork appeared again.
"Okay, now let's see who exactly is doing bad things." Rubbing his hands together, the Clockwork Mechanism on Clockwork's Head began to rotate counterclockwise at an extremely fast speed, looking like Doraemon's bamboo-copter.
Immediately afterwards, the Clockwork Mechanism shot out a White Light, covering the entire Warehouse. The entire Warehouse was like it had been pressed with a Rewind Button, slowly returning to the way it was when the incident occurred.
This was one of Clockwork's Ability. To put it simply, it was to turn Time into Film Roll, and then play it out using the Clockwork Mechanism on his Head. It wasn't true Time Rewind.
Looking at the familiar Chair in front of him, Yang Le knew that the Time he had Rewind was just right.
Yang Le turned around to look in the Direction of the Gate, and sure enough, he saw Peter, who was sleeping soundly, being dragged in from outside the Warehouse.
The person dragging Peter was petite, about the same height as Gwen. That person was wearing a large Hoodie, covering their face tightly, and had a sporty Single Shoulder Bag on their Back.
The two of them got closer and closer to Yang Le, until they passed through Yang Le's Body. Yang Le turned around and just in time saw the masked person place Peter on the Chair.
The masked person took out Rope from the Backpack and began to tie up Peter. From this angle, Yang Le could just see the masked person's obscured face.
Sure enough, the face under the Hoodie was wearing a Mask. Yang Le could only clearly see half of the other person's face, black hair, brown eyes, somewhat delicate, should be a girl.
This half-face gave Yang Le a familiar Feeling, should be some Character in Marvel, and should be a Character he was familiar with.
It's just that he really couldn't recognize who this was. This couldn't be blamed on him either. After all, Marvel was a large company, with countless Comics artists under their wing, and everyone's art style was different.
Even some artists, if they weren't labeled, he wouldn't know what Character they were drawing.
This made him always have a Feeling of familiar strangers when reading Comics and seeing those Characters who weren't wearing uniforms.
"Black-haired, brown-eyed female Character..." Yang Le touched his metal chin, confidently thinking about who this Character was.
One thing that could be known now was that this Character's kidnapping of Peter shouldn't be a spur-of-the-moment decision. To be worthy of her Identity, she should have some kind of premeditation.
While Yang Le was thinking, Time continued to flow. At this time, Peter had already woken up and was struggling desperately. The masked person took out a Needle from the Backpack and stabbed it into Peter, without even disinfecting it, not hygienic at all.
After doing all of this, the stranger took a few steps back, hiding in the Shadow of the Warehouse, quietly watching Peter's Transformation.
After that, it was him transforming into Fasttrack Transformation and making his appearance, then Diamondhead fighting Lizard Man, and that masked person taking advantage of the entanglement between him and Peter to quietly slip away.
Obviously, there was no useful Message here anymore. Seeing this, Yang Le deactivated his Ability, and the Warehouse once again turned into Ruins. A touch of gold also peeked out from the Warehouse Doorway.
"Is it over already?" Gwen saw Yang Le nod and then asked again.
"So, were there any discoveries?"
"Saw the mastermind, but she was wearing a hat and a Mask, could only see half of her face, should be a female." Yang Le deactivated Transformation and walked towards the Doorway. "The other person has black hair and brown eyes, and is about the same Figure as you."
"How about it? Do you have any impression of someone like that?"
Gwen pondered for a while, shook her Head, and said, "This characteristic is too common. There are quite a few people who fit this description at Midtown High School, not to mention all of New York."
Yang Le was just asking casually. It would be best if he could get a Clue, but it didn't matter if he couldn't.
Black hair, female, Yang Le's Brain, he started searching with these two Keywords, but he couldn't think of anything useful for a while.
If he could have a few more brains, that would be great. Then he might be smarter too. Wait! More brains.
"That's right!" Yang Le had a flash of inspiration, pulled the puzzled Gwen, and returned to the Warehouse again.
"Speaking of more brains and being smart, then naturally we have to rely on that guy." Returning to the Warehouse, Yang Le excitedly activated the Omnitrix. After finding the Alien Hero he wanted, he gently pressed the Transformation button.
The dazzling White Light dissipated, and a short and thin Figure appeared in front of Gwen.
"Grey Matter!" Yang Le raised his hands and cheered, then said with a disgusted expression.
"Oh, that action just now was stupid enough, very much in line with my blockhead Identity when I was Human."
"Wow, Habby, you've become smaller." Gwen squatted down, curiously looking at Yang Le in Grey Matter form, and even reached out her Finger to poke him.
"I thought your Aliens were all the strong type."
"Oh! Good heavens, stop! Stop!" Yang Le resisted Gwen's demonic claws.
"Don't lump Grey Matter together with those muscle-types. This is the smartest Race in the entire Universe. Even the famous blockheads in this Race are several times stronger than scientists on Earth! And haven't you seen Grey Matter before?"
"Oh right, I forgot about him!" After Yang Le reminded her, Gwen then remembered that red little goblin.
"Your equipment is all made by Grey Matter!" Yang Le looked at Gwen in disbelief.
"Cough cough! Let's not talk about that for now." Gwen coughed awkwardly.
"In other words, your Head in this form is very smart, right? And then you're going to rely on this smart Brain to lead us to find the answer?"
